I am shook! Someone joined our guild, The Kindness Project, with a highly offensive username: infedele.

Infedel/Infidel means in English : a person who does not believe in religion or who adheres to a religion other than one's own. It is synonymously  used to mean an unbeliever. But people in the South use this word to intimidate people of my faith, Muslims, very much like how a swastika  is used by people who belong to Neo-Nazi groups use that symbol to intimidate people who are of the Jewish faith.

There was no button/link to report this offensive user name. I made my mother, through her tears, report this username to Neopets through gmail and didn't realize how much it upset her to see this name on her children's gaming site. But I know that she was remembering the day that these people came, brandishing this hateful word on signs, their clothes, on their cars and trucks, and waving their guns at our community at our masjid-the place where we worship-were very young children , families, and elderly had to witness all their hate to try to tell us that we don't belong in America. 

I sent a message to all of our Guild Council members that even though I am on the Welcoming Committee, I would NOT be welcoming this person to our guild. 

I hope that they will close that account and change their name, and choose a name that is not based on hating a group of people to try to somehow make yourself feel more important.

I just can't believe that this player has a 6 year account with this hateful word and I can't write my religion's name or what I am or where I worship at on Neopets. I am shook.
