So we're saying some pets are drawn in specific colours better than others? My my, aren't we breaking new ground today :P

It is a little strange that the style new pets are drawn appears to be slowly changing, esp. with the mutants. Maybe there's a new art director on board? Not that TNT would ever do something so open as have a staff credits page. But regardless, the way these new mutants are coming out makes it look like the person in charge does not appreciate customisation and whenever they get to direct a pet outside of those confines they go crazy!

Now, mutants and maraquan are special among converted pets because their poses are not restricted to be able to wear clothes. Honestly, I think Faerie, Wraith, and Darigan should also not be restricted to the poses that were drawn for standard red/blue pets. (Heaven knows, my wraith krawk already does not fit clothes without poking through in places. They may as well have given him a whole fresh pose and be done with it.)

 

Because really, it's the restriction that makes the art dull. For special colours, it would be great if the poses could take a sideline.

I found a new one: UC Plushie Moehog.

 

But it is so out of my reach. I have a WN UC I would trade for it, but as far as I can tell getting the plush would just be a god damn miracle as so few even exist.

 

However, it's the only time in a long while I've said "That pet is actually really nicely designed".

To follow up yesterday's Maths Nightmare achievement, today I got top 50 in Korbat's Lab - position 21, almost in the trophies! Two leaderboard avatars in one month, feels good.

Woot! A big one for me today - I finally got a Maths Nightmare score big enough to get me the avatar. (Almost certainly, anyway.) This is one I've been badgering away at every month, always getting 5880 and always being too late in the day (though some people get the avatar with that score). When it was the Daily Dare game I got the clock-reset glitch and a great 7600+ score, but closed outside the top 50 because it was the bleedin' daily dare game.

 

But today, after months of trying, I finally got it! :D

Today my Random Contest entry got accepted into the Neopian Times too. Two trophies for the price of one! :D

 

I got the stock market avatar today :)) I've been at it all summer, thinking that I'd get it by just buying and selling stocks normally, but apparently I'm too lucky with my stocks doing well enough all the time. I got impatient and bought 250 shares in KSON for the last 150k I needed to invest to get the avatar. I'm not much of a gambler, so I sold them a minute later (thumbs up at flat rate commission).

I hadn't thought of doing that, great idea! (I'm pretty close.)

I hope one day to get a tattoo. But not just any old one.

 

I know people hire against them. Personally, I hope to get to a position where I am in control of my own fate enough that I no longer have to care. I hope to find a place in life where no-one else's judgement can affect my career, and the tattoo will be a sign of that.

 

So it'll be big, obnoxious, artistic, and as amazing as I can afford. I can imagine going for something like this.

I would like to be a part of this.

 

Also I'd totally do a pound transfer. It's not risky if you do it smoothly.

I've managed to lose 30k on FC after a week, despite copying bets. (The only one I created was a small profit.) Moral of the story: it's still gambling!

I will persevere, because I am greedy.

This game is monotonous but pretty easy. I quit as soon as I got the score.

Word to the wise: if you don't know which challenger to take on, just... play the game. In a new tab, you can select your challenger when you finish the game but before you send your score - so you can be certain you'll beat them!

I don't think I've been this happy about something on Neopets for 7 years. *Finally* I can cross off my second of the daily luck avatars. (My first being Wheel of Knowledge.)

I politely hunted on avatar chat and things went pretty well, so that's my recommendation.

I use Lost & Pound to find the right species with a nice name already in the pound. (Cremet is my current poundbro.) After some zapping they are usually stronger by the time I put them back (which tends to be when they change into the wrong species), and I feel no guilt - they'll be alright. They were fine last time, weren't they?

How expensive some things are! Like in the hidden tower, but I understand not everything can be easy to get, I'm just complaining

On the contrary, the Hidden Tower is amazing because it holds prices down. Until they retire, those items will never be worth more than their HT price.

On the other hand, retired or consumable rarities like the stamps... You would be better off not knowing they exist. (280 million? For ONE?)

Noda's page is full of lies. I got Faerie Fortune Cookies today by going to the 'Speciality' tab in the Mall. Someone in my guild mentioned they were available, and they sure were. Noda didn't even know he'd made them.

The monthly game reset isn't biased towards a certain time zone. The old scores are wiped, and then from that point everyone has 24 hours to send in scores for the first trophies are given out for that month. There are a couple that suck because they have max scores, so speed really is of the essence, but they're few and far between (and Math's Nightmare isn't one of them!)

Yes, it is. These vary per mode you play the game on. It is impossible on Division / Potato Counter difficulty (the general choice for people who want an avatar not a trophy) to get higher than 5920. (And that score requires luck - 5880 is much more likely.) The 5920 and 5880s span from bronze trophy all the way to about #60 or #70 on day 1, meaning that not being early results in no avatar.

Trust me, I'm an expert on this particular grievance ;)

On the other hand, I got my first couple million back in the days when the richest people had 50mil. Nowadays there are single items worth hundreds of millions, I wonder if it's even theoretically possible for me to catch up to their value :P

Yeah, I'm gonna assume you forgot. I have no idea where I am in it, however I was pleasantly surprised to see I got far in the Tale of Woe plot which I have no recollection of whatsoever. (Incidentally, the leftover prize points were worth more than anything else on my account!)

All I know is that the current batch has been the same for about 4 days, I've been checking. It doesn't look like they're selling very fast - do we have to wait for the old batch to sell before new ones are baked? This could take forever...

 

edit: though, looking around the internet, maybe this is just bad luck, they're supposed to restock more frequently? These are the same three cookie types that have appeared for the last few evenings for me.
