  1. You've become a Haunted Woods supporter. Thanks for believing in us... we won't let you down! A team background is now in your inventory.

Welcome back! For your 6 years of dedicated play you have earned the prizes below: Discarded Yooyuball Gear Foreground

Hey there! This is will be my seventh Cup with HW too. :) TNT lowered the game maxes this year, according to the FAQ, so that's interesting. But no worries about All-Star! Any contributions help the team. ^_^

Also, Crade Talvos. Now I can work on the NT article!

  2. AARRRGHH! I don't believe it. We're finally featured on the Altador Cup main page... but NO MENTIONS to our Draik's name! :grrr:

Teaser news press!! Bummer that the Draik is a male -- still lots of character potential, though. ^_^

I dunno I have stuff that I'm currently working on that are taking a while to finish but maybe I'll be able to squeeze a picture of that Wraith Draik in :P

    No pressure. ;) Haha.

    Time to buy that wig!

  3. Also waiting patiently for our teams stuff to show up in the NC Mall along with our teams description. It's a good thing that it should happen tomorrow since my NC expires on Thursday. I also am looking forward to finding out about this Mysterious Wraith Draik :D Maybe I should draw him/her and submit it to the Art Gallery?... then again, that might take away from my AC Gaming :P

Yep, still waiting on the NC braided wig here! DO IT FOR THE VINE. As long as you draw our new Draik before the actual tournament starts, you won't have to worry about missing some gaming time.

GAAAH! Still nothing about uson the news!! Hope they are really preparing something spectacular for our new Draik, for leaving us for last like that! -_- -_- -_-

Ahhhh, I'm so impatient!! IKR it better be epic. :P At least sign-ups aren't too far away either, haha.

  4. Good to see you again, Blaise. This brings the tally of Haunties up to 6. To be honest, I'm fine with the bracket system as long as TNT make a few changes. DRR probably won't come back but I think it's fairer than the bracket system. Well, I'm anxiously awaiting for your article which I'm sure will be amazing.

Likewise! :) Most of the boards I've lurked at share the same sentiments regarding tournament structure; literally anything is better than the brackets last year. (Agreed on DDR!) Plus there were no resolved ties for non-podium spots, which was kind of silly. Fingers crossed, though! Ha, thanks -- hopefully the NT editor will think so as well! :P

If you will play for the hw, nm me onsite and I could perhaps make a daily plan for you, and neomail you every day of the cup to see what you should aim for. Don't worry, I won't make it lengthy (won't make you play more than 4 hours)...unless you want a surefire way to get to All-Star, please include "All-Star plan" in your title neomail to me. If you don't want an all-star plan neomail me "Regular plan". I'm also trying to verify this on the official hw page or else I won't do this publicly on neopets because they won't take me serious. :P Thanks for reading my proposal!

Hey, Honora! D'awww, why wouldn't they? I'm blanking atm -- WASPS? -- was the name of our All-Star/Daily Match Goals thing that sounds similar to this. The owner of the petpage would update depending on who we were facing. Not that it matters now, if the tournament structure hasn't changed... you know. xD You should go for it! :)

  5. Hey, TDN Haunties! ;) Thanks OP for making this thread! I'm hoping that TNT changed the format this year, after all the backlash. I'll still try for All-Star, but I'll definitely be less motivated if nothing has changed. xD

Yeah, every year I feel as if TNT always leaves HW for the last days! Bah humbug! -_- I'm curious!!! And I want to buy the HW braided wig too! :D

Riiiiight? I'm going to buy the wig too! Definitely worth it. :) I also want to add to my NT trophy, so the sooner they release the press news, the sooner I can write an article for our new (hopefully lady) Draik.

Hello and welcome, everybody! The Altador Cup is finally over! It's been a crazy month, to say the least! With everything from Austin being arrested numerous times, to explosions in our very own newsroom, my first year as a reporter has definitely been a memorable one! After twenty-nine excruciating days, the dust has settled and the long-awaited results have been announced! Here to share them with you are myself, Matt, and my co-anchor Katie who is out on the field for the first time! Now we have Katie to get us started with the results!

[The feed first cuts to a panorama shot of Altador. Then, it follows the celebrations taking place outside the Colosseum.]

    clouds_ffa5309177.gif

Thanks, Matt! As my co-anchor mentioned, it's my first time venturing out into the throng of Altador Cup fans, and boy, are things lively! To my left are some lovely pastel-colored jerseys and pennants marking the camaraderie of the Faerieland team; the scene on my right has gathered some Virtupets fans, garbed in chrome; and further ahead are the distinct camps of the Moltara and Mystery Island supporters. I'm here to discuss this year's Bottom Four, whose efforts won't go without notice. Even when they were down, they simply did not give up! Such raw determination is admirable, don't you think?

Magma Jubjub [An eager Magmas fan sneaks up from behind and swipes the microphone away.]

Moltara fan: Yeah! Of course it is!

Uh, well, that was a rhetorical question--

Moltara fan: We nearly swept Mystery Island and Faerieland, and everyone thought our team was full of hot air. We had results, it just didn't show!

True. You did also have nine Shootout Showdown wins to show. A real question for you now: what are you hoping for Moltara to improve upon next year?

Moltara fan: We've got to get out of last place, duh! Our team is much more capable of a higher ranking. That's pretty much it, as we've got to take it one step at a time.

Great. Can I have my microphone back?

Moltara fan: I'll play you some trivia for it, how about that?

    Really? Okay, fine. Let's play.

[An intense round of Altador Cup trivia ends in the reporter's favor, allowing her to continue meandering around the various celebrations.]

Now that the microphone debacle has been sorted out, we return to our final results coverage. Next up, we have our first tie -- Virtupets and Faerieland are sixteenth!

[The mention of both teams draws attention from the respective supporters.]

Faerieland fan: We had five Yooyuball wins! Go, Worrill!

Virtupets fan: Yeah, well, we had seventeen!

Faerieland fan: Both of our teams got side-swept by Mystery Island, so there!

    Robot GrarrlVirtupets fan: You know what I have to say about that? 001010101010 010101 0101010110 01010 010101011101 0101011110100110 110110!

Whoa, there! This is family-friendly television! We don't need another lawsuit on our hands, okay? Both of your teams deserve some merit, no matter what the standings say.

Virtupets fan: Right, sorry. Faerieland did win Yooyuball twice against Kiko Lake, which is rather impressive.

Faerieland fan: Seventeen Yooyuball wins are amazing!

See? That's the Altador Cup spirit! Both Virtupets and Faerieland have the potential to climb in the standings, and next year could be the year they do! The Robots need to establish a stronger presence in the beginning of the Cup to amass points early on, which may be holding them back from a higher finish. Faerieland would like to prove to everyone that they can be a force to be reckoned with, and especially a team that can cause upsets. We'll have to see if captain Kakoni Worrill can make that a reality next year.

Mystery Island Native Before I hand over our coverage to Matt in the newsroom, I've got one more team to report on: Mystery Island. I'm approaching the festive campsite as I speak -- the music is quite loud, but also very spirited. A kind Island Techo has put his flute aside to speak with me. I'm from TDN and I'd like to ask you--

Mystery Island fan: The Daily Neopets? Like Austin from TDN? The one involved in the Kau explosions?

Er, well, yes, our emphatic Austin is our usual field reporter... and I cannot comment on the allegations of Kau explosions. I'm just your regular Altador Cup reporter. I'd like to ask you about Mystery Island's season this year: Was it what you expected?

Mystery Island fan: Going from second to fifteenth place isn't exactly a picnic, I'll tell you that.

Sure, it may have been a rough year, but certainly there's a silver lining to it all?

Mystery Island fan: Some of our best outings came against teams Virtupets and Faerieland, who we side-swept during our match-ups.

So I heard! Not too bad. Any comments on what you'd like to see next year for the Natives?

Mystery Island fan: We all agree that we would like to place higher than fifteenth place, and a Yooyuball win wouldn't hurt either. We still have faith in Volgoth!

Mystery Island PartyThank you! I've got to pass off the report to Matt now to report on the next ten rankings, as I've been coerced into jamming out with the Natives of Mystery Island. What a fun bunch! This has been an enthralling field report from yours truly, Katie.

Thanks, Katie. It seems like there's a lot of action at the colosseum! It's lively in here as well! Plushies from all teams have been scattered around the newsroom. Isn't this Darigan Citadel plushie the cutest? Before I get too distracted, let's get on with the results from the middle of the pack, the middle ten!

In fourteenth place we have Kiko Lake! The Kikos had a fairly good season this year, and although it's a big drop from their finish in sixth place last year, they certainly had some highlights. The Kikos were able to nearly sweep Meridell twice, which was no easy feat. The Kikos' record of 19/25 wins in Slushie Slinger is also nothing to scoff at! Next year, the Kikos hope to have a stronger presence earlier on in the Cup, and to use their Slushie Slinger skills to their advantage.

Lest Desert CelebratesTied for twelfth place we have the Lost Desert Mummies and the Shenkuu Ninjas! These two teams had a decent run this year, each team having some highlights to note. Lost Desert was able to nearly sweep Terror Mountain, and was also able to win Yooyuball against Shenkuu and Brightvale. It seems that the Mummies have fallen through the rankings again; will they be able to recover next year? If they're able to strengthen their core, and make sure that they don't stretch themselves too thin, they'll definitely improve next year. As for Shenkuu, they were able to side-sweep Virtupets and the Lost Desert and were also able to deal a loss to powerhouse Roo Island. The Ninjas have fourteen Slushie Slinger wins, and if they can work on their Yooyuball skills and focus on Slushie Slinger, they'll have a chance at placing higher next year.

The Brightvale Wizards were able to take eleventh place. Like other teams in the middle, the Wizards were able to do very well in Slushie Slinger, obtaining fifteen wins total. They were able to deliver Altador's first loss in Slushie Slinger, which was amazing! They'll be looking to keep their consistency up, and also focusing on advancing in the rankings. We'll see if they have what it takes to rise in the rankings next year.

Tied for ninth place, the Maraqua Mermaids were able to pull off an amazing year! Sweeping powerhouse Darigan Citadel, and former champions Kreludor, Maraqua was a force to be reckoned with! Their eighteen wins in Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown were also very impressive. At the end of the day, however, those wins don't make much of a difference if the Mermaids don't place well in the brackets. So next year, they'll be wanting to be a stronger presence in the beginning of the bracket system as well as the remainder of the Cup.

Now before we get on with the rest of the results, we have breaking news to report! The charges against Austin have been formally brought up, and the trial is being aired now! Let's watch!

[The feed cuts to a stone floor. Light can be seen from the upper-left.]

We at TDN would like to thank the Magistrati for their aid in transcribing parts of the following segment.

Praetors Peregrine Praetor Livia: Austin Johan Mustachio, you are hereby charged under Altadorian Council Law with the following criminal offences: Child Destruction, Endangering the Safety of an Aircraft, Arson, Riot, Cruelty to Persons under 16, Assaulting a Prison Officer, Hostage Taking, Abduction, Offenses Against Neopolitic Protection of Nuclear Material, Breach of Prison, Assisting Prisoners to Escape, Bomb Hoax…

[The camera swivels upwards, focusing briefly on a field reporter, Midtime, standing in front of an arched window.]

Oh! Is that camera -- ah. My mistake. Salvete, dear viewers! You see before you now --

[Visible through the window is the centre of a vast court, enclosed by terraced seats in Altadorian fashion, whereunto the camera turns.]

-- one of the famous tribunals of Altador, constructed, in fact, in the second century of the kingdom, specifically for the discharge of criminal cases -- what? I am not rambling. This is important information that the audience may well find relevant. They wo’n’t -- they are hardly going to change the channel: we are, and have been, the primary source for -- this is very important work: d’you understand that?

[The cameraperson is heard to mention the name 'Lydia'.]

You cannot er well all right. Criminal cases, dear viewers, such as the one going on at this very moment: a villain of the most classically dastardly sort (one whose acts, of course, we have nothing to do with) has finally been detained, and the charges against him have just finished being read by the praetor inter cives et peregrinos, Gaia Altadoria Livia Librata (which is translated, Livia the Staid), whose personal presence here is clearly indicative of the gravity of these accusations. It is not customary for such procedures to be open to the public, for fear of disruption; but as this is a matter that concerns a good portion of Altador’s population, and much of the rest of Neopia besides, we have been specially permitted to observe, and to broadcast the results throughout the television-attendant world.

Blumaroo court clerk Now the legal proceedings in Altador differ somewhat from those in Central, and as such you see neither prosecutor in person, nor the impassioned rhetoric that usually attends an adversarial trial. The work of the advocates both for and against the accused can be seen in the documents that the iudices are now examining, which are supposed to present the entire case as clearly as possible, and not to influence their judgement or interpretation to the extent of which a skilled speaker is capable.

The iudices are those other figures that are visible in the seats below the sella curulis. While the praetor is an official selected for her position by Altadorius Venator himself, each iudex has been selected by the praetor specifically for the occasion.

Well, it appears -- to no surprise -- that the guilt of the defendant has been ascertained in almost the full list of his alleged crimes. However, if I recall correctly, it is generally considered necessary to secure the firm testimony of the defendant, whether for or against his culpability in each matter, and furthermore his willingness to accept his punishment. The first part of this obligation was discharged earlier on; but -- ah, here it comes. We will greatly benefit from listening in silence for this section.

Peregrine Praetor Livia: Mr Austin Johan Mustachio, do you admit your guilt concerning the aforementioned charge of Child Destruction?

    Austin: I'm innocent!

Ah, he motions for an -- what? Oh, all right, I’ll be quiet.

Peregrine Praetor Livia: Do you then uphold this claim against the verdict of the quaestio?

Austin: Ma'am, I don't understand French. You're gonna have to speak English.

[The iudices are seen to converse briefly among themselves. After a few seconds, the praetor motions them to be silent.]

Peregrine Praetor Livia: Very well. Do you admit your guilt concerning the aforementioned charge of Endangering the Safety of an Aircraft?

Austin: Safety of an Aircraft? What on earth are you talking about?

Peregrine Praetor Livia: I refer to the self-same charge of which you were convicted in the hearing of the court, some twenty minutes ago.

Austin: Look, the only reason I destroyed the aircraft was because it had a bomb in it. I was saving countless numbers of innocent lives.

Peregrine Praetor Livia: You have already given your testimony in this regard, with...

Indeed he did; it was defeated by video evidence, which is by law accounted to be invincible against verbal testimony -- oh, sorry.

Peregrine Praetor Livia: ...according to which we will no longer accept further assertions. The court requires you to answer the question asked.

Austin: You know what? I don't need your criticism. Y'all don't know me! I'm out of here!

Smoke Bomb [Austin kicks away one of the guards standing at his side and tosses a small metallic object at his feet, which produces a sudden flash of white light. The camera is abruptly dropped to the ground. A few seconds pass before it is finally recovered and turned to the centre of the court, where various personnel are shown collapsed and unconscious, and whence Austin -- along with his guards, and a perfect hemisphere of the ground below him several metres wide -- has disappeared.]

    Well!

I think that concludes our segment; don’t you? I am going to pass the baton back to Matt very quickly. Thank you for watching, friends. Pax vobiscum.

Well, wasn't that...interesting. Hopefully we'll be able to hear from Austin later on. Let's continue on with the results! Also tied for ninth place, we have the Haunted Woods Zombies. Haunted Woods has had a good year as well, nearly sweeping Brightvale and powerhouse Meridell! They were also able to give Roo Island two losses, which you all probably know is not an easy thing to do. Like Brightvale, the Mummies’ consistency is good, but they've made slow progress in advancing to the top. Their slow start set them up for a poor bracket ranking, so next year we'll see if they can get out of their slump at the beginning!

Zenor KevixPrytariel We have another tie to report! Terror Mountain and former champions Team Kreludor are tied for seventh! Kreludor did very well this year, and despite winning last year, they haven't faltered from the winner's curse as badly as previous teams have. They were able to give losses to Roo Island in Make Some Noise, and were also able to sweep Darigan Citadel and Haunted Woods! They did very well considering that they had the winner's curse with them. Does this mean that the winner’s curse doesn't have as much as an effect as in past years? We'll see if Tyrannia will be able to do well next year. If Kreludor can improve in all the games slightly, they'll be a force to be reckoned with next year. As for Terror Mountain, they did very well from the middle to the end of the Cup! They stood fast against numerous powerhouse teams, such as Altador, whom they were able to give losses in Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown. They also had a sixteen-day Yooyuball streak! Amazing! Their hopes next year are to have a stronger presence early on, and to keep that presence remaining for the Cup!

Meridell took sixth place. The Knights were able to do very well at the start of the Cup! They were also able to take numerous first-place bracket finishes, which resulted in their high-ranking finish! The Knights were able to do very well in Shootout Showdown, only losing five games in the entire Cup. They were also able to sweep their powerhouse rival, Darigan Citadel! Amazing! Next year, they'll be looking to be on the podium and to do so, they'll have to keep up motivation later on in the Cup, along with improving their Yooyuball and Slushie Slinger skills!

Darigan Elemental Rounding out our middle ten, at the top in fifth place we have Darigan Citadel! The Minions had an average performance this year in comparison to their other years, and they were able to keep their team from falling below seventh place! They nearly swept powerhouse Krawk Island and also Haunted Woods. Their fourteen Shootout Showdown wins are nothing to scoff about, but they do need to improve their skills in all the games if they want to do better. Their hopes for next year are to keep up motivation, especially middle-to-late in the Cup, which is where we saw the Minions struggle. They also have some redeeming to do, and hopefully they'll be able to show us that they have what it takes to remain a powerhouse team by rising higher in the rankings next year!

Now let's turn it over to Katie, who will finish off this report with the top four teams!

I'm back from my jam session with the Mystery Island Natives to report on your Top Four this season! This is Katie, your newly-turned field reporter, giving you the scoop on all the wild celebrations from the top teams this year! Krawk Island supporters are blasting off cannons filled with confetti and petpets, which seems highly questionable, while the Rooligans are having a massive gathering to celebrate their podium finish. The two most humongous celebrations, however, belong to Altador and Tyrannia. The Fossils are rocking the house with their guest musical performers, but the Altador fans are going absolutely nuts, just like our favorite Crazy Techo!

Yooyu misplay Krawk Island had an exceptional season this year, especially as they destroyed their competition during the third round of play. That round in particular, in which they cite no losses, helped propel them to a higher finish.

[interjecting] Krawk Island fan: And we nearly swept Meridell, Kreludor, and Maraqua too, arrrrgh!

Right on! What are you shooting out of those cannons?

Krawk Island fan: Confetti, o' course!

What about those petpets, mhm? I'd watch out for the PPL if I were you.

Krawk Island fan: Oh, don't you worry your pretty little head, lass. They enjoy it! It's like a game!

I'll abstain, thank you. I'm just here to record your reaction to the final standings.

Krawk Island: We're overjoyed! We're in the mood for plundering, arrrrrgh! Fourth place is decent enough, but we'll get back to the podium next year...

Lilo Blumario Fantastic! Carry on. The next scene I'm walking toward is that of our third-place winners -- Roo Island! The fan fervor is intense for the Rooligans, who have a shiny new bronze trophy to take home.

    Roo Island's record is--

    [interjecting] Roo Island fan: TeROOfic.

Spontaneous, okay. I can dig that. Can you elaborate, please?

Roo Island fan: I mean, we ROOlly pounded Tyrannia in Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown, and that's not even the best part! We bROOke their undefeated streak. That's brilliant.

Excellent work! Didn't you also give Altador a loss in Shootout Showdown?

Roo Island fan: Yeah! Our team set out to pROOve that previous champions can be consistent, and we Rooligans will try to do the same next year. BOING!

Indeed. Thank you for your time! And now we're heading to the extremely bright celebration over to my right, which seems to belong to the Suns...

The hosts of the tournament have outshone most of the other teams this year, as they have taken second place! Many of the supporters are simply basking in the ambiance of their victory, while a few of the younger fans have been keeping things lively with some Clockwork Yooyus.

Clockwork Yooyu [The distraction with the Clockwork Yooyus works. Two of the Altador fans steal the microphone and fight over possession of it.]

    Oh, no, not again!

Altador fans: WE ARE THE BEST!

    Well, second-best, technically...

Altador fans: Who cares? Nuance! We're going to celebrate all night! For the first time in eight years, we get to party hard!

I need to ask you about this season, so hold off on your celebrations for a moment! What was special about your run for the podium this year?

Altador fans: Nine losses. Nine losses the entire Cup! Isn't that just awesome? That warrants some celebration, baby!

Well, certainly. Any hopes for next year?

Altador fans: Probably watch out for that pesky winner's curse or whatever Mystery Island had. For now, we're going out with a bang!

Oh, okay... can I have my microphone back, please?

Altador fans: Sure, and you should probably stand back...

[They hand back the microphone before riling up a few Clockwork Yooyus. The Yooyus start glinting with red light.]

Are they going to... explode? I didn't sign up for this, argh! RUN!

    [bOOOOOOOOOOOOM!]

[The reporter is out of breath by the time she gets to the Tyrannian campsite.]

Tyrannian Party Finally! I've arrived at this year's champions’ bash, where various guest musical performers have been playing nonstop since the standings were announced. The Fossils' music is simply timeless. Let's see if I can snag a willing interviewee for a brief moment while the concerts rage on... Excuse me, can you comment on your victory run and unprecedented win streak?

Tyrannia fan: UGGA UGGA! UGGA SMASH!

No need to get nasty! Can I get a translator, please? Yes, you can? Okay!

Tyrannia translator: This gentleman says that his team enjoyed stomping on their competition in order to bring home the gold trophy. Make Some Noise was their favorite, as they have had much practice with making a racket.

What poetry! Such lovely cadences come from the Tyrannian language. Can you tell us what your team hopes to achieve next year?

Tyrannia fan: UG UGGA UG UG UGGA.

Tyrannia translator: What else? Avoid the winner's curse!

Stadium Celebrations Truer words have never been spoken. You've heard it all right here from TDN! I've got a few more minutes to enjoy the celebrations taking place outside the Colosseum, so let's send it back up to Matt to wrap up our final report for the eighth Altador Cup! This has been your usual co-anchor, Katie, reporting to you live from Altador. Good night!

Thanks, Katie, for your excellent report. I hope you have fun with the Tyrannians! Well, thanks for reading, everyone! I hoped you all enjoyed this year's Altador Cup, and I also hope that your fingers haven't fallen off! Get plenty of rest and have a great year, everybody! From all of us at The Daily Neopets, thank you for sticking with us through all our shenanigans! You guys are the best, and we hope to see you all next year for AC IX!

I would also like to thank the Altador Cup team: Lydia, Theo, Livvy, Xepha, Noog, Midtime, Katie, Austin, and Bryce! Without them, delivering all this coverage wouldn't be possible, so I would just like to say: thank you all for your hard work, and I look forward to working with you guys next year! This has certainly been an Altador Cup that I won't forget! We'll see you next year!

    [static.]

[The camera cuts to Austin holding what looks to be a detonator, with the Colosseum in the background.]

You know, they call me crazy. I break out of jail countless times to stay on the crew, yet I'm still treated like some kind of criminal. They say my Johan character was too much, that rock isn't real, and that I'm a liability.

    I'll show them a liability...

[Austin presses the button, and the Colosseum explodes.]

Call me crazy again! I dare you! You know what's really crazy? All these shenanigans that I've been in have been for a good cause. You just don't know it... yet.

Just wait, and you'll see how everything I've done impacts the world. It's been fun, Neopia. Have a great year! And remember, stay classy.

[Hundreds of armoured guards have slowly become visible. All of them are running towards the cliff where Austin is standing.]

You know, after a full month of doing this, you'd think those guys would have learned. I'm unstoppable. So long, Neopia!

[Austin jumps off the cliff and swoops into the air with some sort of powered glider. He glides into the sunset.]

  8. Teams Map

Hello and welcome, everyone! The last day of the Altador Cup has wrapped up, and we have the results! This is Matt, and I'm here with my wonderful co-anchor Katie! Austin couldn't make it today, but we'll carry on! I have the results from the Alabriss Bracket, and Katie and I will both be reporting the results from the Minitheus Bracket. So let's get started!

Roo Island and Kreludor went head to head, and the results were surprising to say the least! After being swept by Maraqua, very few people expected Kreludor to do so well against the Rooligans, but they were able to surprise many! Roo Island was able to take Yooyuball from the Moons as expected, and were also able to claim Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown. However, Kreludor was able to take Make Some Noise, their fans screaming their heads off, taking the side game with a close score of eight to seven. When the dust settled, Kreludor had made their mark against the Rooligans, who are currently the third-place team in the overall standings. Of course, the overall standings aren't final. To find out the results you'll have to stay tuned for our final report!

Our second matchup in this bracket was Mystery Island versus Krawk Island, and the results were as most analysts expected. Krawk Island was able to dominate Yooyuball, winning with a score of five to three! The Pirates were also able to side-sweep the Natives, resulting in a clean sweep to end the last day of the Cup. With their second-place finish last year, Mystery Island shocked many people this year as they dropped back into the lower tiers, but hopes are still high for a better run next year.

Sela PretoreWeldar Xupenfarb For our last matchup in the Alabriss Bracket we had Virtupets go against Maraqua. Virtupets stuck to their regular tactics today as they focused all their energy on Yooyuball. The Mermaids put up some resistance but almost all their scoring attempts were quickly dispatched by Virtupets' pair of defenders, outperforming even Maraqua's hardened defensive line! The Robots were able to take Yooyuball with a close score of six to five, but having spent all their energy on Yooyuball, they were side-swept by the Mermaids.

This concludes the results of the Alabriss bracket! Now let's move on to the Minitheus Bracket, where Katie and I will be co-reporting the results! Let's have Katie start off!

And they say that chivalry is dead! Hello, folks, this is Katie helping out with the Minitheus Bracket results today! First up, the Haunted Woods scared the wits out of their rival, Darigan Citadel, in Yooyuball...

...but the Minions weren't scared for long, as they were able to win the side games, nailing the Zombies into their coffins! Wait a minute -- we're getting word that Johan has returned, and is out in the Colosseum now, so let's turn to him for the rest of the Minitheus Bracket results!

Yoris Obbles Hey, Neopia! It's Johan, with extremely exciting results from the Minitheus Bracket! Shenkuu wasn't able to keep up with the attack from Meridell last night, as they were only able to take Slushie Slinger from the Knights. Meridell was able to end the tournament on a hot note, by finally taking out the Ninjas. The Knights should hold a strong placing in the top eight of the tournament after a good win last night. We'll see how both teams did overall later this week.

An administrative miracle Tyrannia once again upended their opponent with a complete sweep, as they topped Moltara. The Fossils extended their almost unbroken streak of sweeps, tearing through the competition with unparalleled might. Tyrannia looks strong enough to win not only the bracket, but the Cup. The Dinos are definitely looking to take the top spot in the tournament, and at this point only an administrative miracle could bring them down.

It's been an exciting Cup so far, but only a few te-

[A loud but indistinct conversation begins between a guard and the camerawoman, drowning out the reporter’s voice. The camera briefly swivels to show the reporter in the process of being subdued before the screen goes blank.]

...Oh, we're back in the newsroom!

[Flustered by the unexpected cut, the newsroom anchor regains her composure.]

I'm your co-anchor, Katie, with the results for the Vaeolus Bracket. Well, that didn't last too long, did it? We may have to post Johan's bail over the weekend... anyway, onwards with the rest of the results!

Last, but certainly not least, the Vaeolus Bracket saw two solid finishes for Altador and the Lost Desert, who swept Brightvale and Faerieland, respectively. The Terror Mountain–Kiko Lake matchup was more heated, although the Chillers put the Kikos on ice in Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown. Kiko Lake finished the season with an exceptional Slushie Slinger record, as did Terror Mountain with Yooyuball. The Cup has been anything but dull, that's for sure!

Remis Team Altador continues to assert their dominance over the competition, outshining Brightvale in all four games yesterday. By securing the victories by fairly large margins, the Suns have guaranteed themselves a podium trophy. When solicited for comment, Altador's captain "Trapper" Remis told us that he was waiting on the final decision of the Altador Cup Committee before any celebrations took place for the host land of the tournament. He also added that their recognition as a serious team was long overdue, and their cohesion as a team helped their rise in the standings. The Suns have certainly earned their trophy!

The Lost Desert had an excellent outing against Faerieland, their best since the team swept Mystery Island during the third round. The Mummies finished their underwhelming season with a green row, which is nothing to scoff at. Leera Heggle, the Lost Desert's captain, and Faerieland's captain, Kakoni Worrill, shook hoof and flipper on the field for a brilliant display of sportsmanship. Worrill commented that he is taking the losses in stride. He also notes that next year could be their year for a championship run, as Altador's rise from the bottom of the standings has been rather inspiring for the Faeries. Indeed, it seems that historically low-ranking teams are getting their shots for gold, which is quite refreshing.

Prytariel Terror Mountain took two games from Kiko Lake yesterday: Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown. The Kikos retaliated with wins in Slushie Slinger, their best game, and Make Some Noise. It's likely that the Chillers will finish with a tie for seventh place with Kreludor, which isn't too shabby considering their poor start to the season. Along with the notoriety they’ve gained for climbing the standings during the middle of the tournament, team captain Prytariel is in contention for the Altador Cup's Most Valuable Player, as she retains the highest goals per game average -- with an approximate 6.8434 GPG. Congratulations, Prytariel: your hard work has paid off!

Congratulations to all teams -- you made it to the end! Today's report marks the end of daily results, so, everyone, please enjoy your weekend! Matt, perhaps Austin, maybe Johan, and I will see you all right here when the Altador Cup Committee releases the final standings on Monday, so stay tuned for the most exciting part of the Cup -- the coronation of this year's champions! Au revoir, folks!

    We await the final results...

  9. Yes. :sad02: Let me find it in the official rules...

"The practice session is then followed by a 29 day tournament schedule that runs from May 31st until June 28th."

    and

    "5/31-6/28 Tournament play takes place

    6/29-6/30 Tiebreaker played (if necessary)"

...are taken directly from the rules page. With Viola confirming the nature of tiebreakers, today is indeed the final day of AC8. I wish they would resolve the four ties, but you know. -shrug-

  10. The downfall of this bracket system is how anticlimactic the last day feels. Though I'm certainly not done playing (YYB all the way out!) there seems like there's so few chances for teams to change where they are, unless a Brightvale loss and a Lost Desert win swaps our places.

But the real question is: how is Loryche going to hold that trophy up? XD

Hear, hear! I definitely liked DRR + Finals better. More competitive through the end, really. Oh well.

Ha! Just like the some of the customers do in Slushie Slinger, I'd reckon. :P

I just hope my team (Maraqua) will break the tie and at least come in eighth.

Terror Mountain and Kreludor are technically vying for seventh and eighth place, so Maraqua and the Haunted Woods would be vying for ninth and tenth place. Unfortunately, I hate to be the bearer of bad news... Viola, a TNT staff member, posted on the boards earlier and said that tiebreakers are only for first, second, and third place. :sad02:

Ridiculous, though. So they're just going to leave four ties in the final standings (TM/KD, MQ/HW, LD/SK, FL/VP)? Ugh.

Welcome, folks! This is your ever-effervescent newsroom reporter, Katie, bringing you today's results alongside my co-anchor, Matt, and sans our scheming field reporter, Austin, and his mustachioed doppelganger, Johan. We ought to look into their absences, especially since our producers have been insisting upon meeting our entropy quota each day, but Matt and I need to get on with your results first! Updates on our field reporters will be read as they come in. For now, onto the Alabriss Bracket!

The Alabriss Bracket showed off the steadfast resolve of three teams yesterday, as the bracket consisted of nothing but clean sweeps! Krawk Island, Maraqua, and Roo Island defeated their opponents as the fifth round started to wrap up. Virtupets fell to Krawk Island in Yooyuball, their best game, by a one-point margin; Maraqua bested their higher-seeded adversary, Kreludor, in a suspense-filled match; and Roo Island continues to prove their worthiness for third place in the standings with another sweep over the Natives of Mystery Island.

Feldon Collibridge Many were stunned to see that Krawk Island had taken Yooyuball from Virtupets, as the currently sixteenth-ranked team has one of the best Yooyuball records this season. The Pirates' right forward, Feldon "Dinksy" Collibridge, was attributed the winning goal, juking past the Robots' Keetra Deile and Sela Pretore to score the Snow Yooyu in the lower right-hand corner of the net. Krawk Island's captain, Garven Hale, congratulated his teammate for her quickness on the field and for lifting them to victory. Vying for third has been rendered nigh-impossible at this point, Hale pointed out, and he was still happy for the high finish regardless. The Virtupets team, however, were disappointed that they were unable to beat out the Pirates yesterday. Still, they should be proud of their awesome Yooyuball record!

The Maraqua-Kreludor match-up was exceptionally nerve-wracking for those in attendance, as each game ended with one team edging out in all four: Maraqua! It took a few seconds for the gravity of the situation to be fully realized. The Moons were favored to at least win Yooyuball yesterday, if not the other games. The higher-seeded Kreludor underwhelmed and perhaps underestimated the Mermaids, as Maraqua bounced back from a rough outing against Krawk Island to snag the sweep against the Moons. Elon "The Black Hole" Hughlis, Maraqua's captain, could not be reached for comment, but the mirth that erupted after the clock ran out confirmed that the Mermaids were pleased with their outing yesterday. Kreludor does remain tied for seventh place in the standings, while Maraqua is still tied for ninth place. All in all, both teams are determined to keep fighting until the end!

VolgothJair Tollet Mystery Island fell to the Rooligans yesterday, although the Natives ought to be commended for their efforts. Many teams were unable to beat Roo Island this season, and certainly the Natives came close in Yooyuball and Slushie Slinger, in which they lost by only a two-point and one-point margin, respectively. Mystery Island's captain, Volgoth, did agree to say a few words on the performance of his team this season. The underwhelming performance, he noted, was due to the changes they had made pre-season. Despite the fall from last year's second place, Volgoth continued to say, their morale has stayed positive, and that is the most important thing of all. Roo Island was certainly out to secure their podium spot yesterday, and it was a valiant effort by the Natives.

The Minitheus Bracket, on the other hand, saw only one sweep yesterday with the highly-contested clash between Tyrannia and Meridell; the Fossils went all-out in every game to best the Knights by incredible margins. Darigan Citadel and Shenkuu met on the field and fought spectacularly in a close match, with the Ninjas able to edge out in Slushie Slinger in the end. The Minions recuperated with their classic flair and took the other three games, including Yooyuball. The Haunted-Woods–Moltara match-up saw similar results, though the Magmas edged out in Shootout Showdown and left the Zombies with wins in Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger, and Make Some Noise.

Meridell had their hands full yesterday against the mighty team Tyrannia, who has beaten powerhouse teams without batting an eye. Unfortunately for the Knights, the Fossils did not relent their amazing numbers. Tyrannia's numbers were in the double digits for all four games, and poor Meridell did not stand a chance. The Knights' gallant efforts were not in vain, as they retained their decent sixth place showing in the standings. As for Tyrannia, gold is certain for Loryche and his teammates. For having such a strong presence the entire tournament, it seems folly for the team not to get the glory for the eighth Altador Cup. There's still one day left to upset the brackets for Meridell, even if there is only a sliver of a chance of doing so. It is the Altador Cup, after all!

Darigan Citadel was another team that bounced back from a brutal match the previous day, managing a near-sweep against Shenkuu. With wins in Yooyuball, Make Some Noise, and Shootout Showdown, they were able to keep Meridell at bay in their bracket. The Minions' captain, Layton Vickles, did not speak with a forked tongue when he said that his team would do well this season. Trumping Meridell in the bracket, he noted, was one of the highlights of the season. Shenkuu, however, was unable to reach their potential this year. Currently tied for twelfth place with the Lost Desert, the Ninjas have had a decent season overall. Their Yooyuball record was below average and could definitely be improved upon next year. The Slushie Slinger win did prove that Shenkuu is still in the tournament to cause some damage, which is a good thing indeed.

Haunted Woods LogoAldric Beign The Haunted Woods steamrolled Moltara yesterday, taking Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger, and Make Some Noise from the Magmas. The Magmas did have some steam left in them, however, and managed to pull off the Shootout Showdown win. Moltara has suffered under the bracket system, despite their decent numbers this season. With little hope to overtake Virtupets and Faerieland to climb out of eighteenth, the Moltarians have to keep plugging along against Tyrannia today. Additionally, the Zombies have little hope of surpassing Meridell to advance past their tie for ninth place with Maraqua. However, neither team ought to be discouraged over their standings this season. As the old Altador Cup saying goes, there's always next year!

Since neither Johan nor Austin appear to have checked in from the Colosseum yet, we'll swivel our cameras over to my co-anchor, Matt, to hear him give his riveting rendition of the Vaeolus Bracket results.

YOUR WELCOME. Do not get wet Thanks, Katie, for your excellent report! Now, let's continue on with the results from the Vaeolus Bracket! It was an intense day today, to say the least, and... what are these FURRY THINGS doing under my desk!? Are they... multiplying? What are these things!? Somebody get them out of here!

    (loud crashing and clattering noises)

    *ahem*

As I was saying, it was a very intense day and many teams were able to do very well! We didn't see any sweeps in this bracket, which was very surprising!

Leera Heggle Lost Desert and Brightvale faced off against each other yesterday. Lost Desert was able to take control of the whole match, only letting the Wizards score a few goals. The Mummies were able to take the win in Yooyuball with a score of four to two. This marks their first win in Yooyuball in this bracket, but with today being the last day of actual gameplay, it won't make much of a difference in the Mummies' overall standing - however, many fans appreciated the morale boost as we move towards the end of the season. As for the rest of the side games, the Wizards were able to cleanly side sweep the Mummies.

For our next match we have Kiko Lake against Faerieland. The Faeries were able to pull off an upset today as they were able to claim Yooyuball from the Kikos, but the Kikos were able to side sweep the Faeries. The Kikos have been doing relatively well in their bracket, but it seems that they underestimated the true power of the Faeries, who took advantage of that. This is the Faeries' fifth Yooyuball win, and we'll see if they can pull off another upset against Lost Desert!

PrytarielAltador Logo Our last match of the day, Terror Mountain versus Altador, was the match to watch! The Scary Terrors definitely showed us that they're a powerful team! The Suns and Chillers went head to head on the field, and despite the Chillers’ best attempts, the Suns were able to get the better of them. With a score of thirteen to eleven, the Suns were barely able to win. The Chillers were able to obtain a win in Slushie Slinger, and their score of thirteen to five definitely isn't something to scoff at. Terror Mountain wasn't going to stop there, however - they went on to claim a win in Shootout Showdown! Amazing! No team has been able to win more than two games from the Suns beside Tyrannia, so the Chillers have achieved what no other team except one has done. The Suns were able to claim the remaining side game, and are hoping these two losses don't hinder their performance today as they go against Brightvale.

Now let's wrap this report up with the matches to watch!

Today we'll see Roo Island and Kreludor face off against each other! It'll be an exciting match to watch considering that Roo Island swept Mystery Island yesterday while Kreludor was swept by Maraqua. Kreludor will be looking to prove themselves on the last day, so we'll see if the Rooligans will be able to hold their ground for one last day.

Underdogs Faerieland and Lost Desert will be facing each other today, and with both of them claiming wins in Yooyuball against their opponents yesterday, we'll see if their strategies will change. Lost Desert will be also trying to make a final push to move ahead of Brightvale, who is currently third in their bracket. Will the Mummies be able to do it?

This concludes our report! This is Matt, with my co-anchor Katie, signing off! We'll see you tomorrow for what may be our last day of coverage!

Hello and welcome, everybody! The final round is halfway over and the matches only get more intense from here on out. This is Matt with my co-anchor Katie, who has returned! Apparently she hasn't found Austin yet, but we'll keep on looking for him. There's only a few more days until the Cup ends so let's hope he returns soon. With that aside, let's get started with the results from the Alabriss bracket!

Water DwellingThe water dwellers Krawk Island and Maraqua went head to head yesterday. It was certainly an exciting match to watch! Krawk Island was able to take the early lead against Maraqua, and despite the Mermaids’ efforts to catch up, the Pirates were successful in claiming Yooyuball. The Pirates were also able to claim Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown from Maraqua, but the Mermaids weren't discouraged -- they were able to drown out the Pirates' supporters, claiming a win in Make Some Noise. It seems like Krawk Island was able to get back on their feet, and we'll see if they're able to keep it up in the final days to come!

We saw Kreludor and Mystery Island face against each other, and the results were surprising! Kreludor was able to outperform the Natives in Yooyuball as expected, and the Moons were also able to claim Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown. However, the Natives were able to pull off a surprising win in Make Some Noise! They're doing slightly better in this bracket than in the previous ones, but it may be too late in the competition to make a significant difference. Mystery Island is currently at fifteenth place in the overall standings. It's highly unlikely given their performance that they'll be able to pass Maraqua in their bracket, but they have to focus and make sure that Virtupets doesn't pass them and make them drop even lower in the standings.

Virtupets Team with Fire YooyuFor our last matchup in this bracket we had Roo Island face off against Virtupets. It was a heated match, and the results were definitely unexpected! Roo Island was able to dominate in Yooyuball like always, but the Robots were able to catch up! It was looking like the Rooligans were going to claim Yooyuball when Keetra Deile Virtupets' forward was able to score a goal, making the score six to five in the Robots' favor! It's amazing that Virtupets was able to claim Yooyuball, since Roo Island has only previously lost to Tyrannia and Altador, the two top contenders for the Cup, and Terror Mountain. Roo Island was able to side sweep the Robots as previous teams have.

These are all the results I have! Let's turn it over to Johan!

Good morning, Neopia! This is Johan reporting live from in front of this green screen. I can assure you that I am not really in the middle of a Yooyuball game; it's just a projection that's behind me. It's some really neat technology.

Sweeps once again dominated the day in the Minitheus Bracket, as we saw two teams get sweeps. The only team in the bracket to fall short of a sweep was Shenkuu. The Ninjas only dropped Shootout Showdown to the Magmas. With the win, Shenkuu broke their streak of three straight Yooyuball losses. Moltara, on the contrary, has not won a game in ten days. It will be interesting to see if they'll be able to end the Cup on a high note.

Tyrannia pulled another dominating sweep over their unlucky opponents yesterday. Tyrannia has once again started their streak of sweeps and is now up to six in a row. The Fossils continue to dominate the Cup and are looking to finally, after so many years of slowly creeping up in the standings, win the Cup and prove they're one of the greats. Tyrannia is definitely a force to be reckoned with this year and, hopefully, for years to come.

In the surprise of the day, Meridell was able to take from Darigan Citadel their second straight sweep. Meridell, after winning just one game in their previous bracket, has started this one hot. The Knights have won eleven games, while dropping just one. Darigan Citadel has been extremely inconsistent over the past eight days, having pulled away on the winning side of three sweeps, but on the losing side of five. Both teams are still in contention for a top spot and should be fun to watch down the stretch.

Green Screen As the Cup nears an end, we should see some very exciting Yooyuball. Many teams still have a lot to play for. Stay with us at TDN for all the coverage you need! And with that, I'll send it back to the studio. This is Johan reporting in front of a green screen, stay neat, Neopia.

Blumaroo finds ScorchioIt's great to see that Johan has returned, and so have I! Simply put, I was relegated to another task and was unable to return in time for the daily results segment. As always, I'm your co-anchor, Katie, here live in the newsroom with Matt today to round out our brilliant report with the results of the third bracket. Two sweeps ruled the Vaeolus Bracket yesterday, with Altador and Kiko Lake taking the victories from Faerieland and the Lost Desert, respectively. Terror Mountain's steadfast Yooyuball record remained intact, and they vanquished Brightvale overall in three games. It should be noted that the Wizards gave the Chillers their first Slushie Slinger loss since late round two -- how impressive!

Team Altador continues to be a force to be reckoned with, as they latch tight onto first place in the Vaeolus Bracket. The Suns battled the Faeries yesterday, in a largely uncontested match. Leading by at least a four-point margin, Altador secured wins in Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger, and Make Some Noise. However, Faerieland showed their tenacity when it came down to Shootout Showdown, keeping the game rather close between the two teams. Unfortunately, the Faeries fell 5-4 to the Suns. Faerieland's captain, Kakoni Worrill, praised their hard work in Shootout Showdown and commended their friends on the Altador team. He also mentioned that they would continue to fight until the very end, despite their disappointing position in the standings. The Faeries' positive attitude is contagious, that's for sure!

4.gifThe Lost Desert put up a good fight against Kiko Lake, just losing Yooyuball by a narrow 5-4 margin. The Mummies' captain, Leera Heggle, had kept the Kikos at bay until a wayward Darigan Yooyu wriggled past his graceful dive. Ultimately, the Lost Desert team was unable to reciprocate the feat by the time the clock ran out. Team Kiko Lake showed off their Slushie Slinger finesse with another victory, as well as beating their higher-seeded opponent with an admirable sweep. The Kiko's captain, "Poke" Cellers, noted that their victory against the Lost Desert was a team effort. He joked that the Darigan Yooyu that lifted them to the winning score was also part of the team effort. Regardless of the outcome, Cellers added, he was happy with this season and their excellent Slushie Slinger record.

Yooyuball has remained spotless for Terror Mountain since the late second round, and their incredible transformation has raised them up to a tie for seventh place in the standings. However, Brightvale's sole victory in Slushie Slinger yesterday brought the Chillers' immaculate Slushie Slinger record to a halt by a 7-5 margin. The Wizards are no strangers to upsets, as they handed Altador their first loss in Slushie Slinger during the third round. Brightvale is currently situated underneath Terror Mountain in their bracket and eleventh place in the standings. The end is nigh, so every win and ratio margin counts towards a shift in the bracket before the final standings are made permanent.

That's all we've got for bracket results today, so now let's pass it back to my co-anchor, Matt, for the games you folks should all tune in to!

Thanks Johan and Katie! Now let's wrap this up with the matches to watch!

Osielle LidelThe Altador Suns will be taking the Terror Mountain Chillers on today! It will be an exciting match to watch for sure. Altador seems like the stronger team, but the Chillers haven't lost a Yooyuball game since the second round, which is certainly an impressive feat! We'll see if the Chillers are able to cool Altador's streak, or if Altador will continue to sweep.

Another match to watch is Lost Desert versus Brightvale. Lost Desert hasn't gotten a lot of attention, so we'll see if they can beat the Brightvale Wizards. The Mummies have only gotten one win so far in this bracket. Will they be able to upset the Wizards?

Filo DesenzOur last match to watch is between the Maraqua Mermaids and the Kreludor Moons! They've both been doing relatively well so far, but with Maraqua's recent loss against Krawk Island, will they still have what it takes to pull off some wins against Kreludor? Find out tomorrow!

We're done for yesterday's results! This is Matt along with my co-anchor Katie, and our field reporter Johan signing off! We'll see you tomorrow!

Missing Staffers reward may be offered Welcome, everybody! This is Matt reporting live from the newsroom! My co-anchor Katie is still not back - I can only imagine that her disappearance has something to do with Austin. While she's gone, I'll take over in her absence! As always, we'll keep you updated with Austin's whereabouts. As for the actual report, there's only a few days left in the Altador Cup, and competition is as heated as ever! I have the results from the Alabriss and Minitheus bracket, so let's get started! The Alabriss bracket had some very exciting matches yesterday!

Long-time rivals Kreludor and Virtupets faced off yesterday. It was a very heated match! Virtupets seemed to have stuck with their old tactics, as they were able to claim Yooyuball from the Moons with a close score of five to four. The Robots were able to take Make Some Noise from the Moons as well. Amazing! Kreludor wasn't going out without a fight however, as they were able to take Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown from the Robots! Kreludor did very well last bracket, but they're off to a rough start this round. We'll see if they can pick themselves up and take some more wins!

Volgoth We also had the Maraqua Mermaids take on the Mystery Island Natives yesterday. The Natives weren't able to make waves with the Mermaids, instead getting swept away in the tide! Likewise with the match between Krawk Island and Roo Island: Roo Island was able to stop the powerhouse Krawk Island from obtaining any wins. Krawk Island had a rough fourth-round bracket, but they are currently fourth in the overall standings, so we'll see if they're able to stay there.

In the Minitheus bracket, there were some intense matches! We saw two sweeps yesterday, so let's get right into the results.

Meridell and Moltara went head to head yesterday, and while Meridell had a rough time in their last bracket, they seem to be off to a good start in the final round! Moltara, on the other hand, has had some bad luck, facing two powerhouse teams at the start of the final round. Moltara wasn't able to stop the Knights, as Meridell was able to cleanly sweep the Magmas.

Loryche Top contender for the Cup Tyrannia faced off against powerhouse team Darigan Citadel yesterday! The Fossils were able to dominate the field like always, shutting the Minions out and taking the win in Yooyuball with a score of eleven to four. Tyrannia was also able to take the side games. Something to note however, is that the Minions were able to get a score of six in Shootout Showdown! The Minions haven't been able to pull off a six since the third bracket. Could they be regaining their momentum? As for the Fossils, they're as powerful as ever, steamrolling through teams! They only have to keep it up for a few more days, and then the Cup will be theirs!

For the last matchup in the Minitheus bracket we have Haunted Woods versus Shenkuu! The Zombies were able to take the early lead in the match, but the Ninjas quickly caught up. The match was about to end in a draw, but Haunted Woods' forward, Zo Junior was able to score a last-minute goal! The Zombies were also able to take Shootout Showdown. The Ninjas weren't going to go out without a fight however. Shenkuu was able to swipe Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise from Haunted Woods. Haunted Woods is currently fourth in their bracket! We'll see if they can muster up the power to pass Meridell!

Johan or Darren or maybe Austin we dunno Now let's turn this over to our field reporter, Johan!

¡Hola! Señors y señoritas. Mi llam-

Camerawoman: CUT! Austin, we have no real significant Spanish-speaking viewer base. You don't need to do this.

Stop! I'm not Austin! You'll blow my cover.

Ahem - Top of the mornin' to ye laddies and lasses. It be yer fav'rite host, Darren.

Camerawoman: Austin! STOP! Be a professional. You look dumb right now.

Your face looks dumb! You're not my real mom!

Camerawoman: I'm giving you one more chance.

Fine. Good morning, Neopia! This is your favorite reporter, Johan!

    Camerawoman: Oh, for goodne-

We had a terrific day out in the Vaeolus Bracket last night. One team was able to manage a full sweep, with two others coming one game shy of one.

Brightvale once again showed their inconsistency last night, as they dropped every game except Slushie Slinger. Kiko Lake once again pulled off a surprising win over the Wizards. The Kikos, while inconsistent themselves, have played fairly well this year. They've managed wins against the like of Altador, Krawk Island, Meridell, and Roo Island. If the Kikos can fix the minor problems facing the team, they could be a contender for next year's Cup.

Terror Mountain once again pulled a near sweep over the Faeries. The Scary Terrors dropped their second straight Make Some Noise game, but won the rest. The Scaries, who currently reside in seventh place, will need a strong showing near the end of the Cup to outlast the competition above them and get in the top four. Terror Mountain has a great chance at pulling off one of the Cup's greatest turnarounds ever, but they'll need every bit of strength left in them to push forward.

Rhee Solters Altador took Lost Desert to the woodshed and back last night with an absolute blowout. Altador, who currently sits comfortably in second place in the Cup, will need to continue their trend of sweeping if they plan to catch up to Tyrannia. If Altador can keep their current placing, and if Tyrannia were to have a historic collapse, Altador could be know as one of the greatest teams to play. Right now, Tyrannia and Altador are two of the most dominant we've ever seen. Will the trend continue next year, or will both teams falter like their predecessors?

And that's all for today's bracket. I must get on the move now. Johan is a busy man! Stay neat, Neopia!

Thanks, Johan? Who's Darren? I'm so confused right now. Let's go over the matches to watch.

Old rivals Darigan Citadel and Meridell will be clashing together once again! They've only played each other once before throughout this tournament, so we'll see what happens! The Minions were able to pass the Knights in their bracket, so we'll see if the Minions have enough motivation to defeat the Knights. This will definitely be a close match to watch!

Is that you Austin or Katie For our last matchup of the day we have Maraqua up against Krawk Island! These two teams are in the same situation as Brightvale and Terror Mountain were in their matchup. Maraqua swept Mystery Island, while Krawk Island was swept by Roo Island. We'll see how these two teams fare against each other. Krawk Island seems to be the better team, so we'll see what happens!

That’s it for today's report! Hopefully we'll find Austin, and my co-anchor Katie will return! Stay tuned for the results on the matches to watch! This is Matt from The Daily Neopets signing off!

Hello and welcome, everybody! As the days remaining until the winner is crowned wind down, all teams are trying their hardest to claim as many points as possible! Everybody is hard at work, including our reporters! This is Matt reporting to you from the newsroom! I'm your sole anchor today, Katie has other work in the Altador Cup department to do, so I'll be reporting the results along with our field reporter, Johan! There's still no word on Austin's whereabouts, but we'll keep you informed! Anyways, let's get started with the results from the Alabriss Bracket! There was one sweep yesterday, and two near-sweeps! Both near-sweeps were lost by only a one-point margin! Amazing!

Roo Island and Maraqua went head-to-head in an intense match yesterday! Roo Island dominated the field, and was able to come out on top, claiming a win in Yooyuball! The Rooligans were also able to take the three side games from the Mermaids, obtaining yet another clean sweep! Points are vital in this last bracket, the Rooligans are currently in first place in their bracket and third place in the overall standings! We'll see if Roo Island can hold their ground and stand on the podium once again!

Kreludor vs Krawk Island Kreludor and Krawk Island were pitted against each other today! The Pirates came out with their guns blazing as they were able to shut the Moons out for the first half of the Yooyuball match. The Moons were able to make a comeback but it was to no avail, as Krawk Island was able to claim the victory. The Pirates were also able to snag Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown from the Moons, but despite all this, Kreludor's fans cheered as loud as they could, and were able to claim Make Some Noise from the Pirates, preventing them from obtaining a clean sweep. Kreludor had been doing well in their last bracket, only losing three games in total! Let's see if they can brush off this rocky start to the final round and make a comeback.

Vela Binal Sitting Down on Bench For our last matchup of this bracket, we saw the underdogs Virtupets go against the struggling Mystery Island Natives. It was an exciting match to watch! Virtupets in the past has focused all their attention on Yooyuball while completely abandoning the side games. It seems like they've gone back to that tactic once again! Virtupets was able to claim Yooyuball from the Natives with a close score of four to three! The Natives were able to side sweep the Robots, despite the Robots taking the overall win! The Natives have been doing slightly better in the past few days, and although it's a little too late to make a substantial difference, there's still some hope for an improved ranking.

Now let's turn this over to our field reporter, Johan!

"Good morning, everyone! This is Johan, live from the stands of the Colosseum. I apologize for my absence. I had some... things... to take care of. Rest assured, all is well and I am still totally NOT Austin. My facial aesthetics and my mustache are far superior to his. Everyone should remain calm as we continue our search for this dangerous man.

Wan Dirx The results from the Minitheus Bracket were very one-sided, with two of the three games ending in sweepy sweeps. The only game not to end in a sweep was Haunted Woods versus Meridell, where Meridell managed to dominate the side games, but fell in Yooyuball. At one point, Meridell looked like a front-runner for the Cup, but since then, they have fallen down to fifth place. Meridell will really have to turn things up and play very well if they want a chance at podium glory once again.

Darigan Citadel was able to pull off their second straight sweep by topping Moltara in a surprisingly close manner. All four games were decided by two points or fewer, with Yooyuball coming down to the wire. The Minions were barely able to hold on to win four to three. Darigan Citadel will need to salvage some late Cup points to be able to push them into the top tier.

Tyrannia Logo Tyrannia swept Shenkuu. Not much more than that needs to be said. Tyrannia should be one of the biggest teams to beat down this final stretch. If they finish as strong as they currently are, they could easily win the Cup. We've seen monumental collapses near the end of the Cup before, so Tyrannia must maintain their composure to keep a firm hold of their championship hopes.

Now we go to the Vaeolus Bracket, where there weren't many surprises either.

First off, we start with Altador against Kiko Lake... See my analysis for Tyrannia. Well, except replace any instance of "Tyrannia" with "Altador" and "Shenkuu" with "Kiko Lake."

Altador Logo Hahahahaha! Just playing! Johan is a real joker sometimes! The second-place Suns of Altador put on another terrific showing for their home fans with a sweep over Kiko Lake. Altador currently sits just three points behind Tyrannia, and still has plenty of time to play catch-up. One bad game from the Fossils could very well spark the Suns into first place. However, if they want to win the Cup, Altador will need to finish very strong. The Suns will be one of the most fun teams to watch down this final stretch.

Next, Brightvale showed Faerieland a dazzling time on the fields, holding the Faeries to only two points in Yooyuball. Brightvale continues to play well, despite currently sitting in eleventh place, and even though they sit in the lower half of the bracket, the Wizards have only been swept four times in the tournament. While that may not seem that impressive, the fifth place team, Meridell, has also been swept four times. Brightvale will definitely be a team to watch during next year's Cup, and chances are they'll probably have a few interesting matches in this last round as well.

Minae MitoraTerror Mountain kept their opponents cold as ice while they stayed hot, as they once again pulled off a dominating victory. The last time Terror Mountain lost a Yooyuball match was June 7th, nearly twenty days ago. Aside from the front-runner, Tyrannia, there has been no team that has been more dominant in that stretch than Terror Mountain. The Chillers will try to carry the momentum along with them in the last bracket and attempt to land a spot in this year's top four. The final days of the Cup will be crucial for the Scary Terrors.

This closing round of the Cup should be exciting to watch. There will be many hard fought matches to watch and look forward to. Hopefully this Cup ends as spectacularly as it started. Now, let's send it back to Matt in the studio. Stay neat, Neopia!"

Thanks, Johan! Now let's wrap this report up with the matches to watch!

Kayn Hireck Today, the Brightvale Wizards will be facing Kiko Lake. Both teams have been doing reasonably well so far in the Cup, so this match will definitely be an exciting match to watch. We'll see if the Kikos can stop the Wizards' sorcery!

Coco Metrone We also have former champions and space rivals Virtupets and Kreludor going against each other today! This will be a heated match to watch for sure! Kreludor seems to have the advantage going into this match, but we'll see if the Robots’ tactic of abandoning the side games and focusing on Yooyuball will help them today!

For our last match to watch we have powerhouses Roo Island and Krawk Island going head-to-head! Both teams have gotten off to a great start in the final bracket! We'll see if the Pirates can pull off a victory, or if the Rooligans will be able to obtain a clean sweep!.

That's it for now! Stay tuned for tomorrow's report! This is Matt signing off!

Goooood morning, folks! This is Katie bringing you the best introduction yet! My co-anchor Matt and I will be bringing you today's report from the newsroom, sans our elusive field reporters. Johan and Austin have yet to check in with us from the colosseum, so we can only assume the latter is engaging in some sort of elaborate machination. We'll be sure to update you on their conditions as we hear of them! For now, we must carry on without them -- let's get to the Alabriss Bracket results, shall we?

Amazing! Three teams dominated their opponents yesterday in the Alabriss Bracket: Maraqua, Kreludor, and Terror Mountain cleanly swept Darigan Citadel, Faerieland, and Moltara, respectively. This bracket has been overshadowed by the infamously "loaded" Vaeolus Bracket, but the top four teams are vying for the last podium spot -- Maraqua, Darigan Citadel, Kreludor, and Terror Mountain are all in contention with each other. Though with varying margins of points, each is fighting for the top spot in the Alabriss Bracket. Recently, Kreludor was usurped by Terror Mountain, and it looks like the Chillers will nab the greatest number of points this round!

Elon HughlisTeam Maraqua shocked fans with the sweep over Darigan Citadel, though they still trail the Minions by three points in the standings. The Mermaids' captain, Elon "The Black Hole" Hughlis, currently edges in behind Terror Mountain's Prytariel in the top goal scorers list. His leadership and notoriety as a clutch performer certainly came in handy as the clock wound down in their Yooyuball match against the Minions. With an assist from Oten Runeu and a perfectly placed throw with the Mutant Yooyu, Hughlis propelled his team to victory with the buzzer beater. Notwithstanding the overwhelming victory, Hughlis promised his fans that they would continue to practice humility as the fifth round comes into view. As for the Minions, Darigan Citadel does have the advantage here. However, after a disappointing fourth round, they need to keep themselves motivated throughout the final round of play if they want a shot at bronze.

The Moons had easy victories against the Faeries yesterday, winning by at least a one-point margin in all four games. The largest margin was the 9-2 Slushie Slinger win over Faerieland. Kreludor had an exceptional fourth round, only suffering definite losses against the team that beat them for first place in the bracket -- Terror Mountain. However, being second in the bracket has certainly bolstered their chances for third place in the tournament. Captain Derlyn Fonnet was optimistic about her team's chances, as they only lag behind the current third place contender by four points. She also stated that she's excited for the last round to begin, as the race for third place is intense. On the flip side, Faerieland has barely raised themselves out of sixteenth. They have still performed better than Moltara and are on par with Virtupets, but their woes continue. Stay positive, yeah?

PrytarielTerror Mountain has been on an icy rampage as of late! Demolishing all teams in the bracket in Yooyuball, the Chillers have made a comeback in the standings. Captain Prytariel's remarkable rise to first on the top goal scorers list has definitely improved the team's Yooyuball performance. Even more remarkable was Terror Mountain's climb to the top of the bracket! After a brilliant round, the Chillers gained pole position for the fifth and final round. Though their slow start has kept them at a lower ranking, they have a slight chance at catching up for the coveted third place seat. Team Moltara is in a similar position as Faerieland, though they are worse off. Remaining at the bottom of the standings, Moltara needs a good final round to elevate themselves out of dead last. Otherwise, they'll be doomed.

On to the Minitheus Bracket! Brightvale held onto their immaculate Slushie Slinger record this round, in addition to winning Yooyuball against the Ninjas. Shenkuu took Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown in order to secure themselves as third in the bracket, just behind the Wizards. The Haunted Woods kept their first place ranking the entire round, and did so with fanfare! The Lost Desert nearly fell prey to the Zombies, salvaging only one win in Make Some Noise. Lastly, Virtupets were unable to win more than two games against Mystery Island, Yooyuball and Make Some Noise. The Natives continue to improve, garnering two wins for the second time in a row.

Orie DinelleBrightvale and Shenkuu are neck-and-neck in the bracket, though the former was able to stay ahead to clinch second place. The Wizards did excellent in Yooyuball and Slushie Slinger this round, which helped them enormously. Mirsha Grelinek, of Shenkuu fame, was a bit disappointed in the outcome of the match. Still, the captain remains hopeful -- Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown victories are nothing to be ashamed of. Brightvale is likely to be out of contention for third place, but the margin between their current rank and a higher one isn't too far out of reach. The same is true of Shenkuu, if they can power through the final bracket and amass some wins under their belt.

Zo JuniorThe Haunted Woods' tenacity has kept them at the top of the Minitheus Bracket! Suffering only one loss in both Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown, the Zombies looked stronger than ever during the fourth round. Captain Krell Vitor seemed elated at their wins against the Lost Desert yesterday, his wicked grin revealing glinting teeth. Taking first place in the bracket has garnered them much-needed points going into the last round, and they may very well improve over last year's ranking. The Lost Desert, however, remains rather stagnant in the standings. The distance to the next place up is widening, so winning is their imperative if they wish to move upwards before the tournament ends.

The Virtupets-Mystery Island match-up had many implications in its results. The Robots' robust Yooyuball streak remained untouched, and their Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise records also fared well. Virtupets won Yooyuball and Make Some Noise against the Natives yesterday. It wasn't enough to raise them past the Lost Desert, however. Mystery Island also stayed put at the bottom of the bracket, though they managed to win two games in the past two days. This has definitely been an improvement for the Natives! Despite these victories, both teams are destined for a below-average finish. Still, the margins are close, and giving up now would be absolute folly!

My co-anchor, Matt, has your riveting Vaeolus Bracket results, so let's turn it over to him!

Thanks, Katie, for your excellent report! Now let's turn our attention to the results from the Vaeolus Bracket, a bracket that was full of sweeps today! We had some very exciting matches yesterday as the three powerhouse teams of the bracket went up against the three underdog teams!

Altador Altador took the field by storm yesterday! The Krawk Island Pirates were completely blown away by the Suns! Altador was definitely able to outshine the Pirates yesterday, and show that they haven't lost motivation despite the fact that they were swept the day before by their biggest competition so far, Tyrannia. Yooyuball ended with a score of twelve to five, and this victory was able to propel the Suns to further their wins by claiming the remaining side games, obtaining a clean sweep against the Pirates. The Suns are currently second place in the overall standings, and we'll see if they can keep up this good momentum in the final bracket!

For our second match of the day we have Tyrannia versus Kiko Lake! As usual, Tyrannia dominated the Yooyuball field, scoring goal after goal against the Kikos. The Kikos were able to retaliate, but it wasn't enough to stop the onslaught of the Fossils! Against Roo Island and Altador, the Kikos have done really well in Slushie Slinger, managing to obtain wins against both teams! Tyrannia wasn't going to let that happen, however, as they slung slushies like their lives depended on it! The Fossils were able to get a shocking score of twenty-three in Slushie Slinger, as opposed to the Kikos’ nine! This definitely shows that Tyrannia isn't ready to lose another game, and will go to drastic measures to prevent another loss! We'll see if they can keep their losses to a minimum in the final bracket!

RooligansThe match between Roo Island and Meridell is the last matchup of our bracket today, and what an exciting match it was! Meridell was able to dominate the first half, but Roo Island quickly caught up, and were able to pass Meridell, the score ending six to four in the Rooligans’ favor! The Rooligans were also able to side-sweep the Knights, although they cut it very close in Shootout Showdown! This marks another clean sweep for Roo Island! Currently third place in the overall standings, the Rooligans look to be in a good position to stand on the podium once again! As with Altador and Tyrannia, we'll see if they can keep it up in the final bracket!

Now for our match to watch! We have Jelly World versus Everybody! Jelly World will be a tough opponent to beat, and we'll see if all the teams can rally together and defeat them!

All joking aside, today is a break day! So all of you can relax, max out Shootout Showdown using the one goal method, or explore the vast world we call the outside! This is Matt, along with my co-anchor Katie, signing off! We'll see you the day after tomorrow, everyone!

Hello and welcome everybody! This is Matt reporting from the newsroom along with my co-anchor Katie. Our new reporter Johan hasn't shown up, not a very good sign for him. We might have to send out the hounds soon if he doesn't show up. Anyways, we are well over halfway through with the fourth round, and we had some heated matches yesterday, along with some very exciting results! Let's get started with the results from the Alabriss Bracket! With Darigan Citadel and Maraqua up against the underdogs Faerieland and Moltara respectively, the results were expected. In the match between the Scary Terrors and Kreludor however, we were able to see who the dominant team between the two were!

MoltaraWe saw the Maraqua Mermaids go against the Moltara Magmas today! The Magmas weren't able to do much against the Mermaids, who were able to dominate all of the games. Even though they were able to win, the Mermaids' scores yesterday were less than impressive. With a score of only two in Make Some Noise, the Mermaids need to improve if they want to stand a chance against the other teams in their bracket. With today being the last day of actual competition for this bracket, the Mermaids have to exceed expectations today and play their hardest if they want to rise in their bracket.

Kep BonnefieDarigan Citadel and Faerieland faced each other today, and the results were very predictable. The Citadel was able to shut the Faeries out for the whole game, and the Faeries' attempt to catch up was futile. The game ended with a score of four to two. Darigan Citadel was also able to take the remaining side games, albeit with very low scores compared to the match between the Scary Terrors and Kreludor. The Citadel is also in the same predicament as Maraqua. With today being the last day of actual competition, they have to rally together and pass Terror Mountain and Kreludor if they want to stand on the podium once again.

For our last match of this bracket we have the Scary Terrors versus Kreludor! It was a very heated match! Kreludor was able to take the early lead in the first half, but the Scary Terrors were able to quickly catch up, causing an avalanche of goals against the Moons. The game ended with a score of eight to five in the Scary Terror's favor, but they weren't satisfied with just one win. The Scary Terrors were also able to claim Slushie Slinger! The Moos weren't going to give up however as they took the two remaining side games. This match definitely showed us which team was the dominant one. Despite these results, Kreludor is still sitting comfortably on top of the Alabriss Bracket, and the Scary Terrors only have one day left to pass the Moons.

Now let's turn this over to my co-anchor Katie!

Merci, Matt! I, Katie, will be bringing you the results of the Minitheus and Vaeolus Brackets today. How peculiar that our mustachioed field reporter has vanished so suddenly! We'll see if he will materialize again tomorrow. But first, onto the results of the Minitheus Bracket! The Haunted Woods pummeled Shenkuu in Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown yesterday, though the Ninjas stealthily struck back to claim the wins in Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise. The Brightvale-Mystery Island match-up had a similar outcome, as the Wizards took two victories in Yooyuball and Slushie Slinger. The Natives had their best day since the beginning of the fourth bracket, with wins in Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. Finally, Virtupets and the Lost Desert had an interesting match, notwithstanding the latter's sole win in Shootout Showdown.

Autrey FulseThe Haunted Woods continues to lead the Minitheus Bracket and Shenkuu was their next prey. The Zombies' ravenous appetite for victory showed as many a successful volley between Krell Vitor and Zo Junior ended up past the Ninjas' goalkeeper, Xana DiLanche. Mirsha Grelinek, Shenkuu's captain, enjoys being in the top three goal scorers this season, despite the rampant losses. However, she conceded that the Haunted Woods simply outplayed them in yesterday's match. The wins in Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise did bolster morale for her team and the fans, which is especially important as one round remains in this year's tournament.

Brightvale faltered in their match against Mystery Island, dropping Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown to the Natives. The Wizards have been rather consistent in Slushie Slinger this round, with no losses so far; Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown has only been so-so for Brightvale. Still, the Wizards are in a decent eleventeenth place position. Volgoth, Mystery Island's captain, continues to elude our microphones in order to comment on his team's performance, especially on their abysmal Yooyuball record. Notwithstanding their terrible Yooyuball record, they've maintained fifteenth place, just above Virtupets and Faerieland. Mystery Island should shift their focus to Yooyuball, ideally, to rise in the standings. Spreading themselves too thin may be a problem. There's still one round to go, and these points matter!

Welder XupenfarbThe Lost Desert had a tough outing against Virtupets yesterday, falling to the Robots in every game except Shootout Showdown. The Mummies had been rallying back from a poor start to the tournament and carrying the previous momentum from a successful match against Mystery Island, but it ultimately didn't work against the Robots. Virtupets, the lower ranked team of the two, has had a better, more consistent fourth round than the Mummies. The team attributes their success to goalkeeper Goltron Mk I, whose agile moves have kept their Yooyuball record spotless this round. Still, despite the Lost Desert's recent losses, they can vie for a higher ranking if captain Leera Heggle keeps them focused.

The Vaeolus Bracket was very intense yesterday! With the top two teams duking it out for the most anticipated match of the season, and two powerhouses competing for third, there was no shortage of suspense! Roo Island had a field day against Kiko Lake, rattling their opponent enough to take three solid wins; Kiko Lake salvaged a win in Slushie Slinger to prevent the sweep. Meridell also staved off a sweep from Krawk Island, just narrowly scraping by in Shootout Showdown. As for the headline match, Tyrannia destroyed Altador in a much-heated battle for pole position in the fifth round. The numbers put up by both teams were simply astronomical!

Kiko Lake came away with a narrow win in Slushie Slinger.Roo Island is determined to latch onto the podium spot as tightly as they can; their tenacity against Kiko Lake shows. With victories in Yooyuball, Make Some Noise, and Shootout Showdown, the Rooligans kept themselves in front of the race for third. As for Kiko Lake, this team has been playing above-average this season, even exceptionally well in this powerhouse bracket! They have won at least one game each day, and even nearly swept Krawk Island and Meridell! Despite their brilliant performance so far, they remain in fourteenth place. Keep fighting, Kiko Lake!

Meridell seems to have lost its morale since the third round, as the fan-favorite team has lost the last eight Yooyuball games and the majority of Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise match-ups. Krawk Island was able to find their swag in Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger, and Make Some Noise, losing Shootout Showdown narrowly by a one-point margin. While the hunt for third is constantly changing, Krawk Island and Meridell are practically neck-and-neck for the last coveted podium spot. The Knights ought not give up when the bracket is still a tight race, and definitely not while one more round remains. Positivity is key!

It seems the stadium waited with bated breath as the results of the Tyrannia-Altador clash came out! In a sheer demonstration of power, both Tyrannia and Altador put up unprecedented numbers in most games. However, the Fossils bested the Suns 14-10 in Yooyuball, 16-11 in Slushie Slinger, 18-15 in Make Some Noise, and 13-12 in Shootout Showdown. Loryche, Tyrannia's captain, also improved as a top goal scorer by surpassing Zo Junior of Haunted Woods for fourth place. It seems that the Fossils' are nigh unstoppable and that much closer to winning the much sought golden trophy. Altador is still in a prime position for second place, as this match has dictated. Both teams should get a shout-out for all their hard work yesterday!

That's all I have to report for results! Let's send it back across the newsroom to my co-anchor, Matt, to wrap up today's Altador Cup coverage sans our hapless field reporter, Johan.

Thanks Katie for your thrilling report! Let's wrap up this report with the matches to watch!

Lamelle TurowToday we'll see Darigan Citadel and Maraqua clash with each other! It'll definitely be an exciting match to watch! Both teams are currently in floating in the middle of their bracket, and this match will determine which team will come out on top! With only one day left, all the teams are scrambling to earn as many points as they possibly can, so every win counts! Stay tuned for tomorrow's report as we reveal the outcome!

Ilsa EllitsOur last match to watch today, Meridell versus Roo Island! This is the first time that the two teams have faced against each other, but it seems that Roo Island will be the victor in this match. Meridell has gotten only two wins in the entire bracket, so Roo Island seems like the smart choice. Roo Island has been doing fairly well in this bracket, so we'll see if they'll be able to obtain yet another sweep!

This is it for today! This is Matt with my co-anchor Katie signing off! Come back tomorrow for the latest results! Until then, see you next time!

Good morning, folks! This is your newsroom anchor, Katie, bringing you today's enthralling introduction. Along with my co-anchor Matt, and our quirky field reporter, Austin, we strive to make your Altador Cup news entertaining! And if we fail, well, there's always more explosions to be had!

We've got the results of the Alabriss Bracket ready to go, so let's not tarry further! The highly-anticipated Darigan Citadel-Kreludor clash went in favor of the Moons, who annihilated the competition in every single game. Kreludor had the only sweep of the day for the bracket, though Terror Mountain came stunningly close against Maraqua. The Mermaids held off the Chillers' icy onslaught with a victory in Shootout Showdown. Lastly, teams Faerieland and Moltara had a riveting match yesterday, much to the fans' delight. The Faeries took Yooyuball and Make Some Noise, leaving the Magmas with wins in Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown.

Darigan Citadel and Kreludor are in the hunt for third place, as the fourth round becomes vital for accumulating points. Kreludor is on the cusp of a podium spot, while Darigan Citadel has slipped further down. The loss has slimmed the Minions' chances of that coveted position, now that the Moons have the advantage. While Kreludor's sweep seems to have dampened Darigan Citadel's spirits, the team certainly shouldn't be counted out. The Minions' legacy as a strong team is still evident this season, despite their prime position being usurped. As they always say in the Altador Cup, anything can happen!

Prytariel ™ Teams Terror Mountain and Maraqua duked it out, though the Chillers had the upper hand. Besting the Mermaids in all games, save Shootout Showdown, Terror Mountain has kept up its vastly improved strategy since the third round of tournament play. The Chillers' captain, Prytariel, contributes their successes to her rapacious Yooyuball strategy and her mark on history as the top goal scorer by a very wide margin. Terror Mountain is situated just below Kreludor in the Alabriss Bracket, though their rise to the top has been slow due to their mediocre start to the tournament. Maraqua is still ahead of Terror Mountain in the standings, so the Mermaids ought not get too discouraged by yesterday's results.

Kakoni Worrill (FL) The Faeries and Magmas battled it out yesterday, both teams dead set on rising clear of last place. Team Faerieland's victories have kept them ahead of Moltara, though they remain tied for sixteenth with Virtupets. Winning Yooyuball and Make Some Noise was the Faeries' best outing against Moltara since the start of the tournament. As long as they stay ahead of the Magmas, they can escape the fate of last place. Kakoni Worrill, Faerieland's captain, confided in his fans that their optimism would keep the team fighting until the very end. Still, they have a ways to go yet, as round five has yet to come!

It's time to turn it over to... Johan? Not Austin? Oh, well... we'll go to Johan live in Altador now, I guess.

Hey all, I'm Johan, a new reporter for TDN. I am totally not that dumb Austin with a fake mustache on! No way I am him. I'm excited to join the team! I am here live from inside the Colosseum with some exciting results from the Minitheus Bracket.

Virtupets pulled off a near sweepity doop dop bop kapow over the Shenkuu Ninjas. The Robots hit Shenkuu hard in every game except Shootout Showdown, where the Ninjas had the slight advantage. Virtupets remains a strong competitor in the Cup thus far, and can obviously pull off surprises. They have a nice bit of momentum on their side and will look to continue positive trends. Shenkuu will need to regroup if they plan on staying out of the bottom half of the standings.

Lost Desert almost pulled the brooms on their foe, Mystery Island. The Natives were only able to manage a win in Slushie Slinger, as the Mummies had absolute control the whole night. Lost Desert pulled off a very nice looking Yooyuball victory and kept control of the two side games they took from Mystery Island. Both teams have met with disappointment this year, but Lost Desert has still been consistent with winning games they should be able to. While not quite as steady, Mystery Island will still be striving hard to get in shape for the last round, or failing that, next season.

Haunted Woods Logo In the match of the day in the Minitheus Bracket, the Haunted Woods took out Brightvale by winning Yooyuball and Make Some Noise. Some reports indicate that the team gathered the power of the moon as it shined on them and retained the energy to pull off a terrific victory. Despite this, Brightvale managed two side game wins, and continues to do well in the side game category. Haunted Woods appears to have finally taken a turn for the better this year. If they continue to win, they could push for the final spot in the top tier!

Reporting live from the Colosseum, this is Johan signing off. Stay neat, Neopia.

Thanks Katie and Johan! That's weird, I don't recall Mary mentioning a new recruit. Oh well. Hello everybody! This is Matt, reporting live from the newsroom where I'll be rounding out this report with the results from the Vaeolus Bracket. This bracket is certainly the toughest bracket we've seen this season. With many of the contenders for the Cup all in one bracket, all fighting for as many points as possible, the Vaeolus Bracket is definitely the one to watch, and we'll see which team comes out on top. Now let's get started with the actual results! Yesterday's matches were exciting to say the least as we saw Altador and Roo Island, as well as Kiko Lake and Meridell, go head to head. All in all the bracket had two sweeps, with one very near sweep.

GOAL! Kiko Lake and Meridell, the underdogs of this bracket, faced off against each other yesterday. The Knights have played the Kikos twice already, with drastically different results each time. This time around, the Kikos were looking strong, scoring a steady stream of goals on the unsuspecting Knights. The Knights weren't able to make a comeback in time, conceding Yooyuball to the Kikos. Cheering could be heard blocks away from the Colosseum as fans of Kiko Lake drowned out Meridell's supporters. The Kikos also slung slushies like there was no tomorrow as they were able to serve all their customers. I was even able to get a slushie for free! Meridell wasn't going to go down without a fight however, as they took Shootout Showdown from the Kikos with a close score of seven to six.

Ealyn Hawkshanks (KI) Even after they were dealt two losses by the Rooligans earlier this round, the Tyrannian Fossils were still looking strong as they were able to dominate the Pirates at Yooyuball. Amazing! Tyrannia doesn't seem to be losing any steam, which is a strong sign that they'll be able to remain the dominant team. The Fossils were able to take the remaining side games as well, sweeping the Pirates on all fronts, before moving on to their greatest challenge yet: Team Altador. Meanwhile, despite not doing too well in this bracket so far, the Pirates' morale has yet to slip, and we'll see if they can do better in the days to come.

For our last match of the Vaeolus Bracket, we had the much anticipated Altador versus Roo Island. The last time these two powerhouse teams faced off, Roo Island was only able to take Shootout Showdown from the Suns. The second time around, Altador wasn't about to let the Rooligans put any more red on their record. The Suns were able to predict every move the Rooligans made on the field, keeping the Roos' scoring opportunities few and far between. Any attempt Roo Island made to catch up was futile, as Altador walked away the victor with a score of ten to six. The Suns were also able to outshine the Rooligans in the side games, cleanly sweeping Roo Island. We'll see if Altador can keep this energy up!

Before I go however, let's see what the matches to watch for today are.

In the Alabriss Bracket we have Kreludor and Terror Mountain going head to head. Both are currently placed high in their bracket, and they both have rather impressive sweeps of Team Darigan Citadel under their belts. This close cut match will be very tough to predict, and definitely a game to keep an eye on!

Another thrilling match will be Krawk Island against Meridell! Both teams have been struggling in the Vaeolus Bracket. They've only gotten one side game win apiece so far, so it'll be very interesting to see which team will come out on top!

Trapper Remis (AL)Scrap Taggert (TY) Our last matchup, and the one that's been causing all the buzz today, is Altador versus Tyrannia! The two strongest teams in the tournament will be pitted against each other today. This will be one for the record books, as we'll be able to see which team is truly the strongest contender, at least for now. Stay tuned for the results tomorrow!

This has been Matt with my co-anchor Katie, and our new field reporter Johan - who looks strikingly similar to Austin... Anyways, we'll see you tomorrow!

Hello and welcome, everybody! The fourth round is well underway, and there has been tons of action on the field! This is Matt reporting to you from the newsroom with my co-anchor Katie, and our field reporter Austin, who apparently has broken out of jail with explosives again. Never mind him - the results from the Alabriss Bracket have just come in, and the whole bracket is full of sweeps!

Yesterday, Kreludor and Maraqua took on underdogs Moltara and Faerieland respectively. The results were predictable as Kreludor and Maraqua both were able to dominate the underdogs with clean sweeps in all games. We have a live interview with Derlyn Fonnet, left defender for team Kreludor, at the end of the segment!

Darigan Citadel and the Scary Terrors faced off yesterday. The Citadel has been the stronger team this year, but that didn't stop the Scary Terrors from shutting the Citadel out, rounding out the Alabriss Bracket with a third sweep. The Citadel's scores have not been up to par recently, and they seem to be losing motivation. Terror Mountain took advantage of this and passed the Citadel, climbing to second while the Citadel fell to third. The Citadel needs to find a way to boost their morale. Every day that they don't, the podium gets further away.

Now, let's go to our interview with Derlyn Fonnet of Team Kreludor!

Derlyn Fonnet Hi, Derlyn! Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to be interviewed! I know you're busy so I'll make this quick! You've been in the same bracket as Darigan Citadel for the whole Cup, yet you've only faced them once. During that encounter you were able to come out on top, winning all of the games except Slushie Slinger. How do you think you're going to do tomorrow?

Derlyn: I'm feeling great about our chances against the Citadel! We're all fired up after our sweep against Moltara! We're hoping to carry some of that energy out into the field with us!

Currently you guys are at the top of your bracket, and fourth place in the total standings. How good do you think your chances are at placing on the podium?

Derlyn: We've been doing relatively good this year! We also don't seem to be affected by the winner’s curse as much as previous teams, so that's a bonus! With Tyrannia and Altador dominating, I think we'll have a good chance at third. Now if you'll excuse me, we have to go start practicing for our match!

This is all for me! Let's turn this over to my co-anchor Katie!

Faerie Minitheus Thanks, Matt -- this is your ever-effervescent co-anchor, Katie, with the results for the Minitheus Bracket! Yesterday's match-ups did not disappoint! Virtupets and the Haunted Woods played a fairly close match, with the former taking Yooyuball and Slushie Slinger. Brightvale followed suit and clinched the same, while the Lost Desert and the Haunted Woods both had successes in Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. Shenkuu, however, defeated Mystery Island in every game save Make Some Noise.

Goltron Mk 1 The skirmish between Virtupets and the Haunted Woods resulted in a profuse stream of binary erupting from the Robots' fans. Although the passion for the heated Yooyuball match was there, it wasn't enough to outdo the howling of the Haunted Woods' supporters. Goltron Mk I, of Virtupets fame, translated their fans' ardor into their game strategy -- on his part, he let few Yooyus past his outstretched arms. Though the team hasn't yet seen a second championship run, Goltron Mk I refuses to let any rough seasons drag them down. Thus, taking Yooyuball and Slushie Slinger from higher-ranked Team Haunted Woods is certainly notable. As for the Zombies, they still remain ahead in the bracket -- and will if they continue to win enough important matches.

Brightvale outsmarted their opponent, the Lost Desert, by edging out in Yooyuball and leading comfortably in Slushie Slinger. The Mummies, however, wound up the match by bandaging their wounds and persevering through the match in order to secure the Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown wins. The Wizards have had a decent performance since the start of the round, but they are still trailing the Haunted Woods in the bracket. Those two teams are meeting for the first time today, and the outcome will prove whether or not Brightvale has the means to bolster their current standing. As for the Lost Desert, it seems that even a marginal improvement has done wonders to their morale. By reforming from their poor start to the tournament, they've managed to raise themselves up toward a better ranking.

The Ninjas have had an excellent start to the fourth round, with only two losses so far. Mystery Island, however, continues to fall behind, although the Natives staved off a second sweep with a win in Make Some Noise. Shenkuu's performance has vastly improved from earlier rounds, and is certainly a refreshing change as the second half of the tournament draws closer to its end. Meanwhile, Mystery Island needs to revamp their game strategy if they wish to get out of the mire that's keeping them down. The fifth round has yet to transpire, so there's no shame in exploring new ways of garnering wins.

Our coverage of the Vaeolus Bracket will continue with our field reporter, Austin, who's managed to recapture the center of controversy.

Creepy Cave I'm live from a cave in Altador, where I am hiding out from authorities. Apparently it's illegal to blow things up, even if you claim it's for special effects purposes. Once again it appears I'm a man on the run, and NO ONE will stop me. Aside from all the commotion, we had an amazing day in the Vaeolus Bracket.

Altador pulled the old sweep swop deepity dop over the Knights from Meridell. The Suns pulled quite a few impressive victories, winning all their games with nine points or more. Continuing to sweep through the competition, they are definitely poised for a podium spot this year. Meridell, on the contrary, is struggling to stay in contention. These next few days will be absolutely crucial for both teams.

Kiko Lake pulled a near sweep swop deepity dop over Krawk Island, only falling short in Shootout Showdown. The Kikos, pulling off one of their most impressive victories of the year, ousted Krawk island six to five in a come from behind victory. "Poke" Cellers tacked four goals to his season total, including the game-winner. Even with the loss, Krawk Island did not lose much ground, as they still sit in fourth place in one of the toughest brackets we've seen all year.

Blumaroo enjoying celebratory ice cream And in the biggest surprise of the day, red has finally found the Fossils and crashed them back down to earth. Tyrannia is now officially the last team to lose a game in the Cup. Roo Island was able to topple the once undefeated team in Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown. While they did lose both games, Tyrannia still maintains lead of the Vaeolus Bracket and the overall first place ranking. Still, this looks like it could be one of the greatest upsets in Cup history. We'll see how the impact of such a monumental upset will affect both of these teams as we see the Cup progress into its final stages.

Now, we go into the matches to watch.

Kreludor will take on Darigan Citadel later on this evening. In a game that pits two of the top eight teams in the Cup against each other, neither team has the clear advantage. Although the Minions did take away a win earlier in the Cup, Kreludor has a great amount of momentum gathered and could push Darigan Citadel to the end. This may be one of the most exciting games we see tonight!

Haunted Woods will take on Brightvale tonight. Both teams have been largely inconsistent this year, but we've seen both come up with enormous victories. Haunted Woods is currently leading the Minitheus Bracket, with Brightvale trailing closely behind. If Brightvale can take out the Zombies, the chemistry of the bracket could be changed greatly.

The game of the night will be a rematch between two of the top teams in the Cup: newfound powerhouse Altador will take on former champion Roo Island. The Rooligans were able to give Altador their second side game loss of the season last time, but couldn't get the energy to top them in anything else. Now, they're coming into the day with a lot of momentum after they took a few games from the previously unbeaten Tyrannians. Don't be surprised if Roo Island gives Altador their first overall loss of the season tonight. Altador versus Roo Island could be the game of the Cup so far.

And with all of that, I must skedaddle. It's best for me not to stay in one area for a long time. There's a madman on the loose, and I don't want to be caught. Hopefully we see some terrific matchups tonight, and I'll see you tomorrow! For the crew here at TDN, stay classy everyone!

  19. I saw the results and we swept Mystery Island!!!!! It was a bit worse than our usual play but we did alright. Since Virtupets is a natural upsetter we should try to play good today. Now... where can I find some brains?

Great job against MI, Haunties! :) I noticed that scores were a bit low or average for most teams yesterday, sans Tyrannia and Altador ofc.

"Brains" Mortigan can probably steer you in the right direction. ;)

  20. sm_caption_1012.gif

Good morning, everyone! This is Austin and I am live in the police station. It's been well over forty hours since I was arrested, and I am still stuck here. I'm hoping to get out soon. I was able to catch games from the Alabriss Bracket last night before they sent me off to bed. The results were very exciting.

Negg Sweeper Sweeps ruled the day, as two teams were able to get the sweep, with another team just one game shy of a sweep. That team was Kreludor, who took all games with the exception of Shootout Showdown. The Moons put together a terrific performance against the surging Mermaids of Maraqua, and nearly pulled off their third sweep of the year. The Maraquans lost their first game in three days, and will try to regain the momentum they had before.

Darigan Citadel pulled off a nice sweep over Moltara. The Minions, now coming off of their second straight sweep, will try to put a winning streak together to stay in the top four as we see the Cup near an end. Last night was Moltara’s tenth time being swept this year. After a relatively positive showing last year, Moltara has disappointed so far this year as they fight to stay out of the bottom of the points standings. Both teams have a lot of work left to do.

Terror Mountain continued to shine yesterday by pulling another sweep over the Faeries. The Scary Terrors are coming into the Alabriss Bracket as one of the strongest teams in the Cup, and they kicked off this round without missing a beat. Terror Mountain put together their ninth straight Yooyuball win, along with their third straight sweep. If the Scaries can keep it up, they could easily compete with Altador and Tyrannia for the Cup.

Well, that's it for this bracket - over to you Katie!

Thanks, Austin! I'm Katie, your sole anchor in the newsroom for today. Time for the results you've been waiting for, and it looks like round four has started off with a bang! The Minitheus Bracket had only one sweep yesterday, with the Haunted Woods scaring up wins against Mystery Island. The Lost Desert put all their effort into Yooyuball against Shenkuu, while the Ninjas campaigned to make up the solitary loss by side-game sweeping the Mummies. Lastly, Virtupets and Brightvale split the match-up evenly with two wins each, though Virtupets edged out in the end with the bonus spotlighted on Make Some Noise.

Scary Soup in the Making Mystery Island had a rough outing against the Haunted Woods yesterday, falling prey to the Zombies in all four games. It seemed like the Haunted Woods' captain, Krell Vitor, had a voracious appetite for wins. Once sated, he talked about his outlook for the rest of the season. Vitor explained that he wasn't too satisfied being shunted to the middle of the pack, quoting last year's finish, and hoped that they might improve their rank by the end of the tournament. He acknowledged that a podium spot would have to wait until next year, but for now, they would fight for the best possible place they could. Vitor then hastily departed the interview, muttering something about chiding defender Brains Mortigan for drooling too much. For Mystery Island, notwithstanding their disappointing season thus far, the Natives have managed to salvage some points in side games and keep themselves out of last place. As the points increase each subsequent round, any team can raise their current position with a few hard-earned victories. Don't lose hope!

Ninja Krawk The Lost Desert staved off an unpleasant outcome against Shenkuu with the Yooyuball victory, garnering much-needed points after a so-so third round. Shenkuu's stealthy strategy paid off in the end, winning three of the four games by a one-point margin. The Ninjas' Mirsha Grelinek wasn't too displeased at the Yooyuball loss, as she remains the third-best goal scorer in the league. For her, finding the right harmony between their strengths and their opponents' strengths is extremely important to climb in the standings. Currently ranking higher than last year's placing, this harmony has obviously been perfected. The Lost Desert continues to underwhelm the competition, but at least they have started to strike back since the third round. The Mummies might not reach anywhere near their potential this season, but that doesn't necessarily mean they can't finish strong.

The most highly competitive match-up of the Minitheus Bracket belonged to Teams Virtupets and Brightvale. The Virtupets-Brightvale contest proved to be quite interesting, as both teams took two victories apiece. The Robots had a comfortable margin in Yooyuball and scored the win in Make Some Noise, while the Wizards took Slushie Slinger and had their own comfortable margin in Shootout Showdown. The former champion hasn't recovered completely from their fall, as they continue to perform below average, but their victories against Brightvale have shown that they aren't done yet. Still, they have a long way to go if they want to bolster their current standing. Brightvale themselves have done a decent job, taking wins away from powerhouses, and are currently in the top ten. For the Wizards, consistency is key and to deviate might spell disaster for the team.

Legendary Petpets Next up, the Vaeolus Bracket. Considered by many to be the most riveting of the three brackets, its clashes were up to par with expectations. Tyrannia dominated fan-favorite Meridell, as Roo Island did Krawk Island. Altador clearly outshone Kiko Lake, although the Kikos did manage to cast their shadow on the Suns' victory.

Team Tyrannia continues to pull ahead of the competition. The Fossils' undefeated streak is still intact as the tournament moves into the fourth round, but with this year's powerhouses concentrated within this bracket, this may soon change. Meridell has begun to falter as of late, and the consequences have been dire. The Knights were in contention for a podium spot, but as victories slipped away, so did their chances for a metal trophy. This is definitely a tough bracket for all teams involved, especially when the outcome is crucial for those fighting for eternal glory.

The Rooligans fared well against the Pirates yesterday, taking vital wins to stay ahead in the standings. The race for a podium spot is on, and as the days dwindle down, wins and losses will make or break teams. Both Roo Island and Krawk Island are within a few points of each other, and the former is even closer to the current third place team. As stated earlier, wins in this brutal bracket are crucial for a chance at a trophy this year.

Altador Logo Most notable of yesterday's results was Kiko Lake's Slushie Slinger success against the Suns. With an impressive 12-7 margin, Kiko Lake cut their losses in order to capture the single game. Few have been successful in this endeavor, but the strategy worked for the team. Altador fell behind Tyrannia in the standings by a few points, but with a sizable lead on the current third place team, the Suns are all but guaranteed a trophy at the end. Kiko Lake, however, will likely suffer in the standings after the round is over.

That's it from the newsroom! We'll turn it over to Austin now to conclude today's report.

Thanks, Katie. Austin here, and I'm back for today's matches to watch.

Roo Island takes on Tyrannia starting tonight, in what could prove to be Tyrannia's toughest challenge yet. The Rooligans have not been swept yet, but the Fossils have swept every team they have faced. It's going to be very interesting to see how everything unfolds. Can Tyrannia pull off their most impressive sweep of the season? Or will everything come crashing down for them with a Roo Island victory?

The Haunted Woods will face a tough test in taking on the Robots of Virtupets. The Robots boast a good Yooyuball record, but their side game scores are the opposite. The Haunted Woods has been very streaky this year, but they still look good enough to contend for a top tier spot. This is definitely a game to watch. Either team could come out on top.

The Minions will try to continue to gather steam as we close out the Cup by taking on Terror Mountain tonight. Terror Mountain has looked unbeatable during the past few days and could pose a legitimate problem for Darigan Citadel. The winner of this game could be a real challenger for the top spot in the bracket. This is definitely a game to keep your eyes on!

Guard: Sarrr, we nee’ to axe you summm questunz. We t’inks dat you was da one who did it.

And with that, I'm out... with a bang! Stay classy, Neopia!

[Austin presses a button that happens to be floating in midair, and the start of a deafening explosion can be heard in the split second before the feed cuts to static.]

Good morning, everyone! This is Austin reporting live from the outskirts of Altador, where we have Farmer Joe with us live. It's been reported that one of Farmer Joe's Kaus has predicted every single game correctly so far. Joe, how does your Kau do it?

Well, ya see, when you ask him who's gonna win, he'll either start eating or stop eating. If you ask him if he thinks Altador will win over Meridell, he'll eat. If he thinks Meridell will win, he won't eat. So far he has 100% prediction accuracy.

That is very cool, Joe. Hopefully your Kau keeps it up. We'll cover the sto-

(An explosion goes off in the background)

Farmer KauNO! Not my Kaus! Get help!

    Uhhhhhh... Let's cut to commercial.

Commercial: Have you ever struggled with not being cool? It's a problem in today's world, but don't fret. Sign-up today for Noog's Cool Classes and become the coolest person you know! For a limited time, classes are 50% off, but hurry to get in. Slots for the classes are limited. All sales are final. Noog's Cool Classes will make you cool, but not as cool as Noog! Sign-up NOW!

And we're back! I'm now live from the Altador Police Station, where they are investigating me for the explosion of a farm on the outskirts of Altador. While I wait to get interviewed by the police, let's go over yesterday's results from the Alabriss Bracket.

Virtupets won their third Yooyuball game of the bracket yesterday by topping Kiko Lake. However, Kiko Lake managed to get a side sweep over the former champs, extending their streak of solid performances to four days. Kiko Lake has been running hot as of late and will look to carry their momentum into the next bracket. The Kikos still have a lot of time to reverse their somewhat poor fortunes.

Maraqua picked up their third straight Yooyuball victory yesterday with a four to three victory over Shenkuu. Maraqua now has three Yooyuball wins in the bracket, after only having three total Yooyuball victories in the Cup before. It looks like the tides may have finally turned for Maraqua, and they could be on the way to a top tier spot if they can stay hot through the final weeks of play.

Rinok Fitel ™ The Scary Terrors continued their surprisingly hot (or rather, blistering cold) pace by gathering their eighth straight victory, a far cry from their opening one-to-seven win-loss ratio. The Chillers toppled Meridell for their second sweep of the bracket. Meridell has only won one game of Yooyuball so far in the bracket, yet they still lead. Many skeptics are questioning the legitimacy of the bracket system put together by the Altador Athletic Association. Meanwhile, Meridell and its supporters continue to fight hard to keep their top spot, and if they can reverse fortunes, they may still be able to win the Cup.

Scary GuardGuard: Sir, could we have you step this way, we need to ask you a few questions.

And with that I must go. Let's send it to the newsroom to Matt. Stay classy, Neopia.

Hello everybody, this is Matt reporting live from the newsroom! Austin, try not to get arrested again, please. Let's go over the results from the Minitheus bracket, but before I do however, some breaking news has come in from this bracket! As of this moment, Kreludor has passed Darigan Citadel! Kreludor is now in third, while the Citadel has dropped to fourth! We'll see if the Citadel can reclaim their spot, or if they'll remain in fourth. Now for yesterday's results!

Yesterday, we saw Roo Island and Kreludor face off against each other. With Roo Island's recent sweep against Brightvale, they looked very energetic coming into today's match! That energy showed in their match today as they took the field by storm. Kreludor was able to catch up however, but not fast enough as Roo Island was able to win Yooyuball with a thin margin of one point. They were also able to nearly side sweep the Moons, winning Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown. However, Kreludor was able to take Make Some Noise, which is not an easy feat against a team that has very few losses. This marks only Roo Island's 10th loss this year, which is certainly an impressive milestone for the Moons to make their mark on.

Our next match of this bracket was Altador against Haunted Woods. Even with the Haunted Woods' wins against the Citadel the other day, the Zombies still weren't able to stop a sweep from the Suns. Even though the Suns no longer have their perfect record, they still seem to be going strong, and they are still a top candidate for the Cup. We'll see if Altador is able to keep their strength up as we head into new brackets.

Kayn Hireck (BV)Tormo Frein (DC) And our match to watch today, Brightvale versus Darigan Citadel! This definitely turned out to be a heated match! The last time these two teams faced off, Brightvale was able to take Yooyuball and Make Some Noise. The Citadel was hungry for revenge today, and it showed. They were unaffected by the Wizard's magic, and being left with no counterattack, the Wizards were defenseless. Darigan was able to take Yooyuball, and the rest of the side games, cleanly sweeping Brightvale. Despite their drop in their bracket standings, the Citadel still looks strong. We'll see if they can make some more progress in their new bracket.

Now let's turn this over to my wonderful co-anchor Katie, while I take a break which has absolutely nothing to do with breaking Austin out of custody!

Thank you very much, Matt! I'm your resident co-anchor, Katie, and the results for the Vaeolus bracket are fresher than ever! Incredible! Teams Tyrannia and Krawk Island finished off the round with steadfast resolve, sweeping both their respective opponents across all four games. These two teams have also gone completely undefeated in the third round, which is quite a marvelous achievement! The Moltara Magmas had a stunning near-sweep yesterday, dropping only Make Some Noise to Mystery Island -- and that rounds out the Vaeolus bracket summary!

Teams Tyrannia and Krawk Island swept Faerieland and the Lost Desert, respectively. The third round proved highly successful for both powerhouses, garnering them important points for the standings. The Fossils are still the team to beat with a spotless 15-0 record for all four games. As for the Pirates, the Krawk Island crew continues to prove that they are in adamant contention for a podium spot, with no losses at all during the third round. Sharing this feat with Tyrannia, the Pirates will be looking to carry over their winning momentum to the fourth round. As the points increase after each subsequent round, it is vital for Krawk Island to keep fighting for victories in order to catch up to the leading teams.

Team Moltara LogoLor Benneveldt (MI) The gritty match-up between the Magmas and Natives went to the former; Moltara took Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger, and Shootout Showdown, while Mystery Island staved off another sweep by edging out in Make Some Noise. Unfortunately, the Natives were unable to keep their side game momentum going against the Magmas. The third round bracket ultimately showed more improvement for Mystery Island, while Moltara remains somewhat consistent overall. Both of these teams have a lot to fight for: for the Magmas, this season might spell disaster if they can't pull themselves out of last place, and the Natives have already fallen hard since their second place finish last year. There's still two rounds to go though, so anything could happen!

Since today is the bye day for the current round, there will be no anticipated match-ups to report on. There will also be no results tomorrow, so we'll see all of you during the fourth round! This has been an ever-enlightening report by Austin, Matt, and Katie, your favorite reporters. Have a good day, folks!

Hello and welcome, everybody! This is Matt reporting to you live from the newsroom with my co-anchor Katie! Austin might be a bit late. He said something about going on a date with his rock? Don't worry, I'll make sure he takes his medication. Anyways, let's get on with yesterday's results! I have here the results from the Alabriss bracket. Let's get started!

KL Poke Shenkuu and Kiko Lake faced off yesterday, and after their recent victory against Meridell, the Kikos were looking to get some more victories on their record - and that's exactly what they did. The Kikos were able to take control of the whole game, not once easing up on the pressure. They were able to win Yooyuball with a score of five to four. The victory propelled the Kikos to also side sweep the Ninjas, resulting in a clean sweep against Shenkuu. The Kikos seem to be gaining energy once again - we'll see if they can keep up these wins!

Our second matchup from this bracket was Terror Mountain versus Virtupets. Terror Mountain, or the Scary Terrors, as Austin likes to call them, were able to win Yooyuball against the Robots. They were also able to snag every side game, resulting in yet another sweep. The "Scary Terrors" look like they're gaining momentum. They've had a lot of success in this round so far, but despite that, they are still ranked in the middle of their bracket.

MQ Logo For our last matchup of this bracket, and one anticipated by many, we had Maraqua and Meridell go head-to-head. Surprisingly, Maraqua was able to dominate most of the match, and Meridell wasn't able to make much of a comeback, only scoring a few goals to end the game with a score of six to five. This unexpected victory motivated the Mermaids' fans to fill the stadium with their cheers, completely drowning out the Knights' supporters. The Knights weren't ready to give up however, as they took victories in Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown. Unlike the Scary Terrors, Meridell seems to be losing steam. It's not a good time to do that however, as today is the last day of actual gameplay before we receive new brackets. We're more than halfway done with the competition, and it is crucial that Meridell regains their energy or else they will fall.

Now let's turn this over to my co-anchor Katie!

Thank you for your enthralling report, Matt! This is your co-anchor, Katie, with the latest details from the Minitheus bracket. Well! Isn't this astonishing? All three brackets had two sweeps each yesterday, and the Minitheus bracket is no exception! Altador and Roo Island scored clean sweeps against Kreludor and Brightvale, respectively. The Haunted Woods and Darigan Citadel split the match-up with two wins each: Darigan Citadel snagged Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown, while the Zombies took Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise.

AL Timu Altador and Roo Island did exceptionally well yesterday, sweeping their opponents by comfortable margins. The Suns especially destroyed the Moons in all four games, turning night into day with their victories. Though the third round marked the end of Altador's undefeated streaks in Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown, the losses have done little to damage their morale, and their Yooyuball and Make Some Noise performances remain impeccable.

Roo Island bounced back from their near-sweep by the Suns in order to sweep Brightvale. The Rooligans continued to show their Shootout Showdown prowess with a four-point margin over the Wizards, and with only one loss the entire tournament, they seem determined to keep that column in the green. Despite the losses for both teams, it looks like they will finish the round strong.

Layton and Krell The position of most exciting match-up in the Minitheus bracket goes to the clash between Teams Haunted Woods and Darigan Citadel. Longtime rivals Layton Vickles, of Darigan Citadel fame, and the Zombies' hardened captain Krell Vitor led their teams on a series of fierce scoring campaigns on the Yooyuball field. The score remained even for most of the match, but Tandrak Shaye outsmarted the Haunted Woods' goalkeeper, Fanetti, and was responsible for lifting the Minions to victory. The Haunted Woods, however, struck back and took Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise. Morale for both teams seem to have improved during yesterday's match, as both teams altogether fared well. The former champions have regained some of their confidence, but will it be enough to last through the second half of the tournament?

That's all we have for the Alabriss and Minitheus brackets here in the newsroom. Since our... hang on, we're getting word now that our field reporter, Austin, is available for his segment. Let's go live to Austin for the results of the Vaeolus bracket before he's sedated... again.

Brain Freeze Hey, everyone, it's Austin reporting live from the slushie stands. My apologies for being late today. Rock and I went out for slushies and Livvy was there. She killed rock and is my camerawoman again. We ended up making up over slushies and both got major brain freezes.

Livvy: You were carrying a fffrickin' rock. I did not kill it. For the record.

    You smashed her!

Livvy: Nope, that doesn't count! It's not on the record! Lalalalalala...

It doesn't matter anymore. She's dead. And I'm stuck with you again.

Livvy: You know you like it better this way.

[Livvy sticks out her tongue like a mature adult.]

    Rock was good to me.

TY Acko All fighting aside, I have yesterday's results from the Vaeolus Bracket. The Dinosaur things swept the Missing Desert. The Dinos pulled off another great victory to remain undefeated in the tournament. The Missings couldn't get close enough to pull off a win, though they still sit in third place in the bracket. Tyrannia looks to be the clear front runner right now, but we know how things change. With new brackets popping up soon, we could see Tyrannia potentially falter. If Tyrannia continues their high scores though, we could see them on the top of the podium at the end of the tournament.

Kakoni Worrill Faerieland was able to take their third Yooyuball win in the tournament, although their opponents Mystery Island pulled off their most impressive performance of the year by taking all three side games. Though Mystery Island isn't performing up to expectations, they are currently sitting in fourth in their bracket, which should earn them some very much needed points. If Mystery Island can gain momentum off of the wins they just pulled, they may be able to bring themselves out of the cellar. We'll see how things unfold with both of these teams, as there are still a lot of games to be played.

The scary pirate things swept the Volcanos. The Volcanos spit as much lava as they could but still couldn't put a dent in Krawk Island's scores. The scary pirate thin-

Livvy: Oh my Coltzan, you're doing the thing again. The thing where you sound dumb. They're just Pirates. That's their name. And the Moltarans are Magmas.

    You're not my mom!

Livvy: No, I'm your Onethirds! Brat!

    I AM NOT A BRAT!

Livvy: Yes you are! You're the worst brat! You might even be... bratwurst! [Double snaps.] Hehehe!

That was a terrible pun. You are the bratWORST at puns.

Livvy: Ehehehehe, have you ever read your puns, Twothirds? They are terrible. And wonderful. Wonderterrible. …oh my gosh, this brainfreeze is ridiculous.

I AM wonderful. Wonderfully d- *THWACK*

KI Zayle Uh... the Pirates have swept every single team they have played in this bracket so far, and will look to keep their streak alive as we near the end of bracket play. The Magmas, on the other hand, will try to reverse their fortunes. Moltara has only won two games total in the bracket so far. We'll see how these two teams fare as the third bracket comes to an end.

And because I have a bone to pick with Livvy, I'll wrap this up. I'll send it to you, Matt. Stay classy, Austin.

Thanks Austin... and Livvy! I hope you and Livvy sort out your, errrr... problems. Let's take a look at the matches to watch for today!

MDDarigan Citadel and Brightvale will once again be facing each other, and after Brightvale's upset the other day, you can expect the Citadel to be looking for revenge. We'll see if they are able to defeat the Wizard's magic, or if there will be a repeat.

For our last match to watch we have Terror Mountain versus Meridell. After their sweep yesterday, Terror Mountain will be looking to further their success with some victories against the Knights, while Meridell will be looking to get back on their feet and defeat the Scary Terrors.

That's all we have for today! If you'll excuse me, I should head over to the Slushie Stand and separate Austin and Livvy before they harm each other! This has been Matt with my co-anchor Katie, reporting to you live from the newsroom! See you tomorrow!

Hello, Neopia! I am live from Altador, where all is happy and magical, as we are officially halfway through the Cup. Now that I have my favorite camerawoman back (the rock, not Livvy), I can finally report in peace. Yesterday was rough on me, but I realized that rock is best for my career as a field reporter. I'm so happy that I can finally report in peace, without harassment.

I have results for the Alabriss Bracket once again, and we saw some impressive victories. Meridell once again failed to play up to expectations by losing three of four to Kiko Lake, including Yooyuball. Meridell, though leading the bracket, has played extremely poorly the past few days. While they are still in first, if they want to retain their spot, they must play better in the next few days. Kiko Lake, on the other hand, is looking good after falling so dramatically in the past two brackets.

Angry Mermaids Maraqua picked up a rare Yooyuball win as they ousted Shenkuu in the final moments of yesterday’s match. The Mermaids were able to pick up a very much needed victory, and it now looks like they'll be a solid mid-tier contender for the Cup. Maraqua has shown that they can consistently beat the teams they're predicted to beat, whereas Shenkuu, on the contrary, has consistently lost to teams they had chances to beat. Shenkuu has fallen tremendously, but could a surprising turn around be in order once again?

The Scaries of Terror Mountain continued their surprising dominant run with another huge victory over Virtupets. The Scaries grabbed three of the four games against the Robots, including Yooyuball. Terror Mountain looks as good as Altador and Tyrannia at this point in the Cup. The Scaries have had a dramatic turnaround and look to be in form to actually win the Cup! Yes, I said Terror Mountain looks poised to win the Cup. If they continue their dominance, we could see them on the podium this year.

That concludes the Alabriss bracket. I promised rock dinner tonight, so I must be going. She is really excited. I'll send it to Matt! Stay classy, Neopia.

Thanks, Austin! Hello, everyone! This is Matt reporting to you from the newsroom with the results from the Minitheus Bracket! We only had one sweep yesterday to report. Let's get going!

Kreludor Logo Haunted Woods took on Kreludor for the second time this week. Previously, Haunted Woods was able to take Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown while the Moons took the remaining side games. However, yesterday the Moons took it up a notch, and they were on fire throughout the entire game, which is theoretically impossible since there is no oxygen in space and therefore there can not be a fire and...what? I'm being told to stop rambling on so let's get straight to the point! Kreludor was able to dominate Yooyuball yesterday, and the Zombies’ efforts to catch up were unsuccessful as the Moons edged ahead to take the win. The victory propelled the Moons to claim the remaining side games, cleanly sweeping Haunted Woods. Despite having won last year, Kreludor doesn't seem to be affected much by the winner’s curse. They've had a consistent year so far, and if they are able to keep this up, they have a chance at staying near the top tiers.

In the second match-up for this bracket we had Darigan Citadel against Brightvale. Riding high after their side game victory against Altador, the Wizards were able to conjure up their magic and take Yooyuball from the Minions. The Wizards weren't going to stop there, however, as their fans cheered their hearts out, drowning out the Citadel's supporters. The Citadel wasn't going to go out without a fight as they won Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown from Brightvale. We'll see how Brightvale does in the upcoming days, and if they'll be able to rise upward in their bracket. As for the Citadel, they need to get their act together. With only three total wins in this bracket so far, they need to do better if they want to have a spot on the podium once again.

Last but definitely not least, we have the match with the most buzz, Altador versus Roo Island!

Salayne Ritad Both teams looked very well coming into yesterday's match. Altador was able to shut the Roos out for most of the game, ending the game with a score of nine to six in Altador's favor. The Suns were also able to take Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise, but the Roos were able to take Shootout Showdown. This is only Altador's second loss of the season in any game so far. They were clearly able to demonstrate who the dominant team was between the two, and hopefully we'll get to see who the dominant team is between the Suns and Tyrannia. The Roos have to be careful today, as their opponent Brightvale will definitely cause an upset if they aren’t.

Now let's turn this over to Katie!

Thanks, Matt! I'm your co-anchor, Katie, with the complete results of the final bracket. Wow, the Vaeolus bracket is really starting to heat up! All three match-ups yesterday resulted in clean sweeps for Tyrannia, Krawk Island, and the Lost Desert. Tyrannia and Krawk Island continue to dominate this round and the former is still altogether undefeated. The Lost Desert had their best showing since the start of the tournament, taking down Mystery Island to achieve it.

Tyrannian Bori The Fossils took easy victories against the Faeries, winning by at least a four-point margin in all games. Team Faerieland took the losses in stride as they always do. Faerieland's captain, Kakoni Worrill, commended the fans' good sportsmanship throughout the match. Even though Tyrannia had the advantage, he continued, maintaining a positive attitude was the single most important outcome for the team. Worrill concluded with an optimistic outlook toward their match-up today with Mystery Island, in hopes that the Faeries could win some games. Tyrannia, however, has a remarkable determination to get onto the winner's podium. As Altador and Roo Island are now set back by losses, the Fossils are pulling ahead for a gold trophy.

Unfortunately, Team Moltara was unable to monopolize on their momentum going into the match-up with Krawk Island. Moltara's tag-teaming duo of Aldric Beign and Tulah Kisner found great difficulty in hurling the Yooyus past the Pirates' goalkeeper, Garven Hale. Though Beign and Kisner lost some steam during the match, they fought valiantly until the end. Losing by only a one-point margin, Team Moltara has nothing to be ashamed of -- especially against powerhouse Krawk Island. As for the Pirates, they have maintained a tight grip on the bracket so far. It seems that their only challenge this round is Tyrannia, who swept them at their first meeting. Is Krawk Island a candidate to halt the Fossils' undefeated streak? Who knows! Moltara and Krawk Island are playing again today, so the Magmas have a chance to redeem themselves for a victory.

Desert Ixi The Lost Desert had their best turnout so far against Mystery Island, sweeping the board with a margin of one point in all four games. Mystery Island's captain, Volgoth, continues to elude our reporters for comment on their performance this season. With no wins so far this round, the Natives need to step up their game in order to prevent themselves from falling toward the bottom of the standings. As for the Lost Desert, their performance in this round alone has improved drastically! With only three losses, the Mummies are regulating their game strategies efficiently, with Captain Leera Heggle stressing the importance of precise changes as they take on the undefeated Team Tyrannia today. We'll have to see if this move works for the Lost Desert!

That's it for the Vaeolus bracket results. Now we'll send it back to Matt for the matches that are sure to stir up fan fervor today!

Thanks Katie! Now let's finish this off with our matches to watch!

A match to watch today will be Brightvale against Roo Island! After Brightvale's upset against Altador and Darigan Citadel, the Wizards will be looking to further their success against another powerhouse team this year. Will the Roos be able to stop the Wizards or will the Wizards get the better of them?

Faerieland Logo Another interesting match-up to watch today will be Faerieland versus Mystery Island. Both are underdog teams that haven't been doing very well this year. After their second-place finish last year, Mystery Island dropped to the very bottom again. Will the Faeries be able to defeat the Natives, or will Mystery Island pull off an upset?

For our last match to watch today, we head over to the Alabriss bracket where old rivals Meridell and Maraqua will be going head-to-head today. Meridell has been doing very well this year, and with an overall standing of third place, they have a chance to be on the podium once again. Maraqua, the weaker team in this match-up, will be looking to pull off some upsets.

This is it for today! Tune in tomorrow for our next report! This is Matt signing off!
