It depends on the time it was released, whether it's a one-time use item, etc. If you look at what other people wished for, that's a good point to start. For example, the Long Silver Wig could be sold for 600k, but it dropped to 150k nowadays.
 
Currently, per the trading post, I think it's the Evening Draik Dress (600k), followed by the Evening Draik Wig (450k). The Earth Faerie Frame (400k) is also a good item to wish for. Since those are not necessarily sought after by a lot of people, it may take a bit long to sell those items and you may have to lower the price to beat other sellers.
 
For easier items, I think you can try the Halloween Y14 Goodie Bag (300k), Scorchio Mummy Stamp (300k), Faerieland Petpet Shopkeeper Stamp (250k), Bag of Peanuts (250k).

Any Halloween, Mutant, Ghost or Zombie pet would be suitable. Or you could get pets that are spooky eg. Korbat, Lupe and Hissi. Those pets are fairly spooky-themed, I'd say.
Or a MSP Poogle would work too, though they're very hard to get :P
P.S I think the Mutant Acara, Pteri and Eyrie are boss. :rock: I SO WANT a Mutant Pteri someday :evil:

I'm half-way through NQI Insane. I'm a bit nervous that each boss stuns me every turn, but I hope my character will survive. I'm getting through NQI by watching k-dramas on a laptop, heh.

Using the Birthday theme (which is only available during your birthday and Neopets') increases random events (editorial). I don't remember getting many that time, but I get a lot by playing NQI lately.

You can wish for almost anything. I usually wish for stamps, because I collect them. The way I find what I can wish for is to look through the list of the granted wishes. You know for a fact that those items can be given by the Wishing Well, and the things that a lot of people wish for (like Bag of Peanuts) are usually the low-rarity expensive items.
 
You could also think of an item in which you're interested in, look it up in an item database and check the rarity to see how low it is. If it's in the 80s, you can look around on guides to see if it falls below the maximum rarity that the guides list as being granted.

Congrats! Two of my wishes were granted from the Wishing Well, so I kept using it since then. You can make 7 wishes for every 12 hours period, so you should add two more for an increased chance of getting something.
