The prices of the toys and plushies that are given out in large amounts by the dailies, the battledome and random events will most likely be back to their normal/old prices again soon, simply because these have a much, much, much higher supply than demand. In particular those that are both given out a lot and are below rarity 90 will be likely to deflate back to original prices or close within a few days to two weeks tops. Some of those already are back below 25NP.
 
Those that are given out a lot but are rarity 90 or above will probably take a little bit longer because they both became a lot more inflated than other frequently-given-out toys and had a larger portion used up by the event. Take for example the Tyrannian Acara Plushie, a r90+ toy given out by the Tyrannian opponents in the Battledome. It peaked at around 40-42k and is now rapidly deflating. It's currently down to approximately 1k and falling. Still, it'll probably be a bit longer than the low-rarity-frequently-granted plushies/toys.
 
Low rarity toys that are either infrequently or not given out by dailies/REs/battledome may take a bit to drop back to their former levels. However, since they're currently not in the high demand they were in during the event and there is a steady supply through the main shops, they'll sooner or later drop back to original levels, especially because since they're currently worth more than usual, people can make some profit restocking them even if they normally would have ignored them. As a result, more of those that stock in the main shops get bought, supply increases, demand is low, prices drop. Since the majority of those are bought from the main shops with actual neopoints, however, they will be slower to drop since people are more invested in not making a loss on them. Otherwise, the speed at which they drop will likely be in good part determined by how many of them stock and at which price.
 
High rarity toys that are either infrequently or not given out by dailies/etc. will likely take a fair while to get back to former price-levels because they do not stock too frequently in the main shops and thus the amount of them in circulation will be slower to increase. On top of that, a lot of them were used during the event and there are a fair few people looking to replace plushies, resulting in an elevated demand compared to usual (but decreased compared to the event). If any toys don't go back to their original value, they'll almost certainly belong to this category, but those never were the "cheap" toys to start with.

As to the lag issues mentioned above... well, you know how bad things are when you manage to snatch a 55k stamp despite the page taking over a minute to load.
 
So I suspect the answer to "who is not lagging and thus grabbing those items" is "no one. Everyone is lagging like heck, just some people manage to get through a second faster than others".
 
Missed out on a fair few good items as well due to lag, though. -cough- Missed out on most good items due to lag, just managed to snatch one fairly nice stamp (the one mentioned above) and a handful in the 5-20k range. Still not exactly bad, but the lag cost me more than one UB, so... XD

I don't have the patience for restocking, so all I can say is somehow get a faster internet provider or keep trying your luck. Lag hasn't been an issue for my main activity on Neopets - jobs. I can get well-paying jobs consistently. Since my activities are lower-risk, lower-reward, my Neopets experience has been pretty tame. With daily interest, I actually can make the 15k needed for stocks every day without TOO much work. And I haven't failed a job yet, too!
 
Though, I hope that I didn't just jinx myself!

What an absolute disaster....spent a fair amount on the items because I really want the avatar. Stupidly I never check the news page as my bookmark takes me straight to dailies and had no idea it was on until a few days ago. I've learned from that mistake!! I'm on 5 donations but having only 1 item of today's and seeing as the prices are so ridiculous I won't be able to complete it. No avatar, what a waste of time and money! People on this site can be so cruel and selfish. (Really wanted today's prize too)

Today was really weird. I won 5 plushies from the BD & I'm really glad i decided to gamble instead of quickly selling them!! The Shenkuu Helmet Stamp is worth 750k :D

There's somebody in the auctions who is sniping the puzzles that are going at about 200k and then putting them straight back up for auction for over 300k. Nobody's bidding on them though. Loving the irony of people jacking up prices on the stuff people need to get an avatar with the word charity on it.
They nearly managed to get the one I was bidding on but luckily the lag wasn't too bad so I just managed to get it at the end :D

Ugh... I was hoping it'd just be done by Christmas. Well that stinks.
 
I guess I'll just focus my attention on Food Club until this is over, and can buy my stuff back at hopefully a reasonable price. Like the 1NP everything once was. :rolleyes_anim:

It was so hard to fall back asleep last night. I'm still so angry. Premium perks were not supposed to give people a competitive advantage on the site. I mean sure, there are slight advantages like SSW, free items, etc. -- but turning one of those premium-only free items into a potentially (multi)millionaire-maker in a single day? This event is just... a total game-changer. It's like TNT wants people to get fed up and leave. Maybe that will help the server issues. I suspect either someone on TNT is on the way out and decided to troll all of us before they left, or someone new on TNT has no idea about how the Neopian economy works.
 
Oh, wait. TNT is losing premium members left and right because of the lag, and this is their message to them: "Don't cancel; we'll give you millions of NP and an unfair advantage if you stay!"
 
(I realize that many premium members got rid of their pencil cases or didn't receive very many in their time on premium, but the fact remains that those who do have a hoard of these items are almost 100% exclusively premium members. I'm not blaming the premium members for gouging the rest of us; they're just following the basic principles of supply and demand. The fault 100% falls on TNT for not respecting those principles and their own principle of not biasing the game in favor of paying members.)
 
The irony is that I know several premium members who happen to not have any pencil cases, and this is just the icing on the cake for them to quit their subscription, since they're already fed up paying for a virtually unusable service.
 
P.S. I'm willing to pay up to 100k for a pencil case. If someone's willing to sell it for that, PM me here (I probably won't be able to check until after work, around 4pm NST).
