Oh this sounds so fun! I'll be looking through everyone's wish lists!
I'm stocking up on shiny obsidian, dung etc. for the rubbish avvie. I don't have anything I really collect. I'd like to work toward the stamp avvies once I get some other item ones out of the way.

My two cents on the matter: I don't like this event, and here's a few reasons why...
 
1. If people are going to donate, they should just donate. Prizes shouldn't really matter.
2. I view this event as an attempt to a) get rid of junk on the servers and b ) regulate inflation, and nothing else.
3. Granny should keep her day job. Her "tags" are robbing more people than the Thieves Guild.
4. Items that are usually worth 1 np are now selling upwards of 650k or more, and people who can milk it are milking it.
5. How many people feel left out because they a) aren't mass hoarders and b ) filthy rich? I've got 14 mil in the bank and I'm struggling!
 
And this whole "most generous Neopians" list boils my blood because something isn't right about it. It's extremely fishy. This event hasn't been out THAT long. According to the list, some people have donated well over 3,000 times.
 
a) what are the odds of you being that highest ranking generous Neopian? Seriously, how many players are on Neo each day?
b ) many of the same people have constantly been on the list. Really? Does that surprise you? Doesn't surprise me!
 
and my personal favorite
 
c) these "users" would have to literally have NO life whatsoever, and be online 24/7, constantly donating to have donated that much, considering the price hikes on items and the serious sitewide lag! I think this whole list thing is just a catalyst to make everybody try to one up each other.
 
Donating toys whether it be in real life or virtually, the concept is still the same, and it shouldn't be a competition.
 
All that being said, no, I'm not being a cynical grinch, but I am saying this, my eighth tag is coming up. Once I complete it, I'm out. The only reason I've done it this far is because Neopians have helped me, and I have helped them in return. The whole point is to help somebody and give back, which is what I've tried to do.
 
Considering it's now Christmas Eve where I am, all of my future donations are going to the money tree, where they belong.

This is insanity. People want 300-500K for the music box! I watched the prices climb from 10K and beyond and I still wasn't able to snag one before it reached unbuyable territory. Is anyone willing to part with one for no more than 175k? :/

I had a similar issue not long ago. I was pretty sure I knew the email address that my account was associated with, but for some reason my password reset requests weren't going through to my inbox. They weren't going to my spam/junk folder or anything. Very weird. So... I went here: http://www.monkeyquest.com/en/signup/forgot-password Monkey Quest is a Nickelodeon site and Nickelodeon doesn't own Neopets anymore, but for some reason this site is still tied in with Neopets / Neopets accounts. Well... it was as of a few months ago. :P
 
I entered my username to reset my forgotten password... and for some reason THIS request made it to my inbox! (My hunch was correct -- I guessed the right email address.) Anyway, you might want to give it a try. It's how I got my account back. :D

Anyway, I've fostered cats since as long as I can remember, so I constantly have furry faces popping in and out of my life. I have a few that I have personally adopted and will never be rehomed.
 

This is Spooky! She was a feral stray I worked on taming for months until I was finally able to get a hold of her and bring inside. Her nicknames include Spook, Catdog (she has a dog-like personality) and Chicken Leg (she escaped and got hit by a car about a year ago which required surgery, they shaved her entire lower half and her leg looked like the chicken thigh quarters you buy in the meat section, thus getting her name.
 

This is Cinnamon, I call her Cinnabutt, though. I got her when I was buying chinese food, they had the door open and this cat came in begging for food, you could see ever bone in her body and they were chasing her out with a broom but she was so weak she couldn't even run. I picked her up and took her to the vet the next day. She hadn't eaten in so long that her body couldn't even handle food so they had to nourish her through an IV
She will always be little because of her malnutrition when she was young.

Some of you may know this little booger from this thread, I found him Saturday afternoon while on my way to my glass blowing class, he was in the middle of the road all alone about to be hit by oncoming cars. He is currently recovering from an upper respiratory infection, he is currently 5 weeks old.

I used to have pictures of my cat and my sister's on my wall at work, but after moving desks and condensing work space, I took down all of my personal stuff.

Both of our cats prefer to keep to themselves when we have company, but if you give them enough time they're content to come around. I think a lot of it is similar to the concept of socializing a new puppy - if you expose them to it when they're young they will do better. My husband and I have 5 nieces and nephews - the youngest is only 8 so she still can be pretty energetic around animals. We've had the kids around the cats since we got them and our kitties have no issues with the kids when they are at our place. Dinah is definitely more skittish generally speaking but after a bit she will come out and visit too.

I'm sorry, but it sounds like you're automatically assuming the worst of your friend just because she can't come until later. I can understand being disappointed because of plans changing, but you can't really be angry at her for that.
