Mara paint brush which shot up in price after the Mara Lutari was announced and I now suspect it will stay sky high. Some pets have morphing potions, but the Kiko doesn't yet. Lab ray, with the obvious proviso that it is random. FFQ if you're lucky enough to get one. I've had two with FQ cookies now over a lot of cookies! Premium perk - if you change your pet to a species and colour the Kiko doesn't have (I used Gooseberry Chia) you can use the Premium Perk to change it to a new colour in your preferred species.

It's brand new as of yesterday/today I believe for Kiko day!! Fan art based like the Lutari and I fell in love instantly!
-
Although havign taken him out the Lodge, I tried again even though he was bloated and it worked!! He's beautiful!
-
So having fallen in love with the new Mara Kiko, I decided to use my Premium Perk on it and morphed my JubJub into a Chia. Unfortunately, I am now stuck with this ugly fellow until he gets hungry as I forgot he was in the lodge. So he can't eat the tasty Gooseberry pop I bought him! Ummmmm... oops. I have decided that my sides Lutari is going to be morphed into my Shopkeeper JubJub as the new Lutari colour failed to wow me. But Ottaas name reminds me of water creatues (otter) and so Mara is a perfect colour for him! I just didn't anticipate that Chia face grinning moronically at me!
-
And tdub is now so close! He was lv 46 yesterday, so that five level boost would have pushed him over! A Faerie Queen quest has made me feel a little better today though!
-
That Kiko shell is gorgeous! I may need a second Kiko in the future... I love the colours and the little starfish!! Although someone on FB pointed out that this bit doesn't have a solid line and now I can't unsee it! Old items won't fit new Mara's. I have this problem with my Lutari. It's aggravating because there are so few options to begin with!

Never seen this high a bonus before... But of course it was on my dubloon pet and not my level rushing eight codestone pet...!
-
The only way to do it would be by the Premium Perk...
-
It's never on the pet you really want it on, is it!?
-
Yeah, it took me aback the first couple of times until I realised it must be a glitch!! Thank you! I love the soft colours of that background but would never have traded for it so the Archive Wheel did me a solid!
-
oops! Try putting the love potion foreground on… you get a Red Blumaroo for your troubles!!
-
I sold SSS at 64. Now kicking myself... again!
-
I think they are really mad that they can’t use the nice Net of Fish I traded for them… it’s usable by mutants on DTI but not on neopets… Sad times! And yes! I’d have loved to have a Krawk on him but I only just made back my Candychan spending… if I make enough with Charity Corner maybe, just maybe!
-
I just got the background from the Archive Cookie and fell in love! I have attached a cute plushie petpet as well. I looked at the price of the Krawk and blanched!! And my first mutant is complete!

Started my Mutant account off with my Jetsam and got lucky with an FFQ and so made Wytha into a Plushie Krawk! Originally he was going to be a Burlap Meerca, but I had a change of heart! Who's a Pretty Boy?

So in a heart stopping change of mind, I bit the bullet and got that ridiculously expensive dress. I figure at 2 million a stamp, with 19,000 points I can get 4 stamps worth 8 million and a book or two, probably bringing it to 10 million. Or I could hope for the best with the dress and splurge the entire 18,000 points on one item. Well it paid off. I HAVE A BID! The dress is selling for at least 15,150,000 neopoints!
-
I've crunched the numbers and even if the dress ends up selling at 10 mil instead of 15 mil, it's still a slightly higher profit on the stamps. I may regret this move hugely. But here goes nothing: AND UPDATE: I HAVE A BID!
-
I'm still really tempted by this outfit! I had intended to turn Ottaas Maraquan. Now I've been playing with this outfit instead... Zombie shopkeeper? Plushie? Coconut?? Stealthy?
-
I've added italics and quotation marks to make it clearer. I was typing just before I closed the computer down yesterday and so was in a rush. In a plot twist, two of the plushies from the Staff Tournament have been gifted to me! Someone was being very kind and offering them for a bunch of pirate acara plushies. I felt guilty and put two lots up instead of one, thinking she'd do one plushie and one junk... instead I have two plushies! I think I'm likely going to get that dress, sell it and buy the Yooyu and stamp and whatever book I can't afford in points out of the proceeds. Should be about 6 million I think once prices stabilise! Which leaves me with at least 4 mil profit. More if the dress stays around the 15 mil instead of dropping to 10 mil. It's slightly baffling. I thought the complainers would be new accounts, but I looked at them and most of them have been playing for years. By one year in, you know how things are going to play in the prize shop. If you have ten years or more, you can remember when things were really, really difficult to get and seriously need to stop griping!
-
Hah, yes, I actually have enough points for the top prize for the first time ever! My crowning achievement! I’m holding off on spending my points though. I want to see where the Yooyu and stamp stabilise at price wise before jumping. I love the giant Yooyu plushie as well. Typical that I only like the expensive prizes! But yes, I was more quoting the complaints I’d seen on the boards! I am pleased by the plushie overload in the Staff Tournament though!

Some of it I can see. Maraqua, however hard we played, did not deserve sixth spot over Brightvale. Maybe over LD due to the cheating aspects, but if we'd have been in the top tier and playing DC, AL, LD etc, we would have almost certainly lost most of our games. SOTAC is still getting griped at, but I am less bothered by them than by the obvious cheating in the ACG. At the end of the day, the vast majority of SOTAC seem to actually play for their points. Should they be able to dominate the podium every year? Probably not, but they are not going anywhere unless TNT does something drastically unpopular like force choosing your AC team for you next year. I do not see this as a viable option, so there's little point in complaining. And the prize shop is a little disappointing. There's a lot of tat and a few high priced gems. But the complaining about the amount of points to reach the prizes is doing my bleeding nut in. A small amount of research would have said that 18k would be the minimum prize shop value for the top prize. And that there would be at least one 12k prize thrown in there as well. "BUT I REACHED ALL-STAR! I DESERVE THE DRESS!" No. This is the way it has been for years. And the prizes are far less expensive than they once were. I recall back in the day the top prizes being 40k! Even in 2018, the Water Yooyu was 25k in points. All-Star is good, you get the shiny gold trophy for your trouble and you can afford the stamp and the books. But those top prizes have always surpassed All-Star. This is not a surprise! "I PLAYED LOADS AND CAN'T AFFORD THE STAMP." Again. Small amount of research. The stamp has sat at about 4000 points for several years now. This is no surprise. *mini-rant over*

The cake is way cuter than anything on the inside!

Well, the results are interesting. Maraqua finished 6th despite not being in the top bracket. I think we need to unofficially swap with Brightvale... The main prize shop... isn't filling me with joy, I must admit. There seems to be more tat than substance. The Water Yooyu will likely drop down several million neopoints in worth as it's a re-release from only five years ago. The Water Paint Brush isn't worth the points as it's an almost buyable. Better than last years Snow Paint Brush, but not great in terms of a 9000 point prize. I like the swipe at the Kiko Lake donations, mind you: And this... I don't know if it was deliberate, but I'll pretend it was regardless: I'm going to hold off using them for now... see where the np-prize point ratio settles. For the first time ever, I actually have enough points for the top prize. But that would mean missing out on the stamp and books. The Staff Tournament prizes are mildly entertaining and I could fill a few slots in my plushie gallery with them. Again, I'll wait to see where the values end up before using as some of them will undoubtedly end up cheaper than others in user shops. I note there is no single point item this year in either shop which is a tad annoying. Last year I had like 400 of the comfort rock plushies which I used as CC fodder. @Mouseykins - the pen doesn't exist in the prize shop btw. I don't know who updates the guide page, but it might be worth removing from the 2021 prize guide.
