  1. Completely messed up Food Club today by using the wrong arena as a positive as I wasn’t using my noggin. I probably should have just kept it, but I then panicked and changed arena. I think today may be a bust… Thankful for the 56:10 yesterday!
  2. Just in case anyone else is also scrolling through the retired archives to find this, I suspect the game caps and minimum required scores will be the same this year as they were last year: Yooyuball: 46 wins/draws Slushie Slinger: 86 games (270 points min score) Make Some Noise: 401 games (2700 points min score) Shootout Showdown: 401 games (35 points or 1 goal min score) Note you have to play for at least 10 seconds for the game to be valid.
  3. So, having wandered onto the boards like the fool I am, I have noted that TNT have posted an entire post dedicated essentially to what doesn't work and how to get around it: http://www.neopets.com/neoboards/topic.phtml?topic=161118979 I mean... they only had an entire year to prepare for this event. Is it so impossible to actually test things and make them work prior to releasing the games?? This topic has been edited by a member of staff (hrtbrk). This topic is regarded as high importance by site staff. Per the reason above, this topic has been PINNED.
  4. And the pirate petpet shop really isn't stocking a lot of low priced pets. I've bought a handful of ten and twenty dubloon coins for a fraction of the cost of a five dubloon coins, but splitting them is becoming a nuisance. I managed to snag a Snarhook a second ago to break one of them... but this is aggravatingly slow!
  5. So some days, you just have one of those days. Today is one of those days. My anti-achievement today is that out of 60 games of Solitaire I have won precisely zero. I also played 50 games yesterday and won... precisely zero. And I've decided to try for the Edna avatar... and that isn't going well either!
  6. So as an end of lockdown goal, I have set myself the task of going back to my much hated foreign language classes as a teenager and am using Duolingo to try to teach myself German. I admit, it is slow, slow going. Foreign languages really don't come easily to me at all, but I am slowly but surely becoming more confident in the basics of the language and have even got the hang of present day tenses which always completely baffled me at school! I've found Duolingo a really useful tool - I suspect it doesn't have the more complex lessons for when you are more fluent, but as a beginner it sets things out well and allows you to learn in bite sized chunks which is always helpful when you have the attention span of a demented cockroach to contend with! My end goal for the moment is to be able to read the Harry Potter books in German... which is a stretch right now, but you never know, I might get there!
  7. I was Pound surfing for a well named pet to start zapping - before I found a page of well named pets stuck in the pound (http://www.neopets.com/~Kylinth if anyone is interested) - and I can't help but be baffled at the number of abandoned pets with appalling names. Why bother creating a pet with an utterly poor name only to abandon it?? I have pets with poor names, but they have sentimental value to me so I wouldn't be trying to trade them anyway. Some examples currently sitting in the Pound: 43wrtgfhdsg JoseCarlosdaFonseca Jose_Lupe_Cuervos kiki_12345679__bia _fire1_fire1_67 asasd_asasd_2_2 AS123jjjjj chelsea97541486
