Current theme: Girl Power
Description: Show us your interpretation of awesome/cool/smart/amazing/brave girls (/women). Pet does not need to be female, nor does the outfit need to include (stereo)typically feminine things. Basically, just create a pet that screams 'girl power' to you, whatever that is. Anything goes, really.
Entering period: Monday, June 27 - Sunday, July 10

"Few people exhibit the historical influence of the feminine spirit quite like Jigonhsasee, the Seneca clan mother who, along with the Peacemaker and Hiawatha, created the Haudenosaunee confederacy (also known as the Iroquois people of the North-Eastern US). The confederacy's bicameral legislative governing model with a veto-empowered executive head, as well as its symbol of the eagle and bound arrows, were later adopted by the white colonies that would form the United States of America--and though the masculine role of governance survived being co-opted by the colonizers, many forget the integral governing role that women held, especially the clan mothers. I've recreated Jigonhsasee here, with a royalgirl lupe (since she would absolutely be considered royalty, and wolves are typically matriarchal pack animals) wearing traditional beadwork, one of the oldest surviving art forms of the First Nations. (Unfortunately I wasn't able to recreate the white-and-purple wampum of the Haudenosaunee flag...) At her feet are two out of three of the symbols of the confederacy: a pinecone to represent the pine tree (whose needles grow in groups of five), and arrows to represent the five bundled arrows of the five tribes. Jigonhsasee still inspires me to be an active, strong enforcer and holder of peace, and to remember the sacredness that First Nations women have always, and will always hold."

Edward Teach, commonly known as Black Beard's ship was the Queen Anne's Revenge. After years of being a privateer, the ship went through a wormhole and ended up on neopets. One fateful day, a passing koi spilled a lenny morphing potion on the ship!! Suddenly, Queen Anne's Revenge was alive- the Lenny of your nightmares. Well, the nightmares of those who did wrong. Q.A.R  now sails on her own ship- the B.B. Avenger- stealing treasure from the greedy and evil. As a woman on the high seas, many sailors are terrified of joining her crew, as a female on a ship is bad luck, but, as Q.A.R says 'thats why the men always die on board- they never bring a real warrior like me'."

Hi everyone, due to the heatwave happening over here (and with neither my body nor my house built for high temperatures), I'm going to postpone the voting period by one week, as my brain is absolutely fried right now, and the most I can manage tonight is stare into space while eating ice cream.

Thanks!   Lol, I can see why you'd like some warmer weather, but honestly, I'd happily trade you our 30+ degree weather for that! It's apparently going to be 39 degrees tomorrow.

(Thankfully, it's supposed to cool down significantly after that, but still, tomorrow's going to be... )
