Looking pretty good for Seekers actually, better than for anyone else.

The obelisk is a remnant from a plot in the past (several years back). Basically you pick a faction and fight (at least 10 battles) the other two factions. It's always 3 random factions to pick from. How the winner is picked is not entirely sure, but if you win, you get an avatar from the faction you picked and you get to pick a "boon" as a reward. If your faction didn't win, you just get a consolation prize.

It rotates between a peace time (7 days, in which the boons are active), a battling time (4 days), and a time to pick a faction (3 days). You can check out http://www.neopets.com/prehistoric/battleground/  to see how much time is left and what your status is (i.e. how many battles you've done, what boon you (can) have or what faction you picked or can pick.
