ThroughMyEyes
Hey all you artists! Do any of you sculpt or do polymer clay? It would be cool to talk to other polymer clay artists ^^ Here's something Neopets-related I made recently: http://stupidsiren.deviantart.com/art/Neopets-Aisha-Figurine-649664678 Zafie and S_A
charelan
I don't... in fact, I had never heard of polymer clay before.. but I wanted to say how awesome your aisha figurine is - it looks really great! ThroughMyEyes
Rometus
I do, but I haven't for a long time haha ;w; What a cute little aisha! it's adorable. The little legs and ears make me wanna squeeze it <3 Here are a few examples of my stuff but they're terribly old. I wish I had pics of something a bit newer! beetles- http://orig08.deviantart.net/c9ac/f/2013/275/5/7/untitled_by_lanalemony-d6p0wv4.jpg miniature figure- http://orig09.deviantart.net/4d26/f/2013/051/9/9/untitled_by_lanalemony-d5vmqzk.jpg toys- http://orig11.deviantart.net/2ab3/f/2013/035/7/3/untitled_by_lanalemony-d5ttx2p.jpg S_A, ThroughMyEyes and Zafie

Thank you so much!! I'm thinking of entering it in the art gallery on Neopets. I do, but I haven't for a long time haha ;w; What a cute little aisha! it's adorable. Aquamentis12
Nice aisha! Excellent coloring job too! Is it acrylic paint? I've tried Sculpey a little bit. I found it VERY hard to work with and not very workable. After about 30 minutes of effort, it took me about 3 HOURS with a scouring pad and Lava bar soap, to get that stuff out of the lines in my hands. LOL I've heard of air-dry clay, can't really do the oven bake stuff because there's not great ventilation here. I prefer real clay for just about every reason there is, but honestly, it's not easy finding someone with their own kiln to fire it. :( I thought I'd share this pic of something I made for a friend's birthday back in 2010. Regular clay, because I was lucky and found someone with a kiln. I don't know if she still is around or not though. The cat in question, is based off her pet cat, who was VERY fluffy. Hard to duplicate in clay, at least imho. lol The whiskers are actually some clippings from my late dad's guitar strings, "G", I believe. Painted with acrylic paint and then sprayed to seal it. Someday I'd love to be able to more sculptures. Improve and have some fun with it. Which would mean getting a place where I could have my own kiln. ;) Hopefully someday... :) S_A and Zafie

And yes, I did use acrylic paint around the eyes and inside the ears, but the face is made from very thin small strips of clay ^^ I've worked with real clay many many years ago, but I can't work with it anymore because I'm actually allergic to it (long story. basically it made my hands red and super itchy). I think the cat looks good! Realistic sculpts aren't my thing at all, so I think you did a good job. :laughingsmiley:
S_A
I don't, but I have used wax to make a mold of my hand once for an assemblage I did years ago. Sculpting is something I'd like to get into someday, but I work mostly with oils, acrylics, and pencils.Excellent work all yous guys!!! ^_^ Aquamentis12
life_eclectic
Everyone's work is so neat! I went throught a time in high school when I loved working with clay. I took a ceramics class, I bought an art set with clay and even a pottery wheel. I made a turtle (my favorite animal) and a cup painted with a glaze that turns a metallic green color when fired. I made a few things with molds as well. I don't have any pictures loaded to my phone, but none of it was that good. I paint now, abstract and mostly using acrylic paint. I am not very talented, but I enjoy being creative =) Aquamentis12
Musical_Shoyru
I love making things! I'd like to get into polymer clay charms. I'd love to make little Animal Crossing ones, Anime ones, Video Game related ones! I actually have a Deviantart too! Mine's Amy-Pink, I just logged back in a few days ago after a LONG hiatus lol ThroughMyEyes
firaplays
Omg that cat is so cute. I have so much respect for people that have the patience to make art like that. I could never do it.
hayliebear
Your little Aisha is fantastic! I've only worked with Sculpey once before, a long time ago. I made the Millenium Ring from Yu-Gi-Oh, I wish I had a picture to share. I would like to get back into making stuff with polymer clay again. I want to learn how to make tiny food models. Zafie
Very nice work on the Aisha figurine. How long did it take you to make that? I should get around to making a figurine as I never made one before. xD I use mainly Sculpey and have made a few things with it. This is my most recent piece that I did for a Pokemon cosplay, its an item called a Holo Caster. It was based on the item that Trevor used in the Pokemon X & Y games. PaintBrushedDreams
I have just started getting into Polymer Clay. Those are super cute! Mine are not that far along yet, maybe once I get better I will show some things off. Does anybody make canes? I have tried so many times but it never seems to work as well as people's examples online.

It look me maybe 2-3 hours? I don't remember haha. Even though it's small, it's the little things that take forever to do! That's a neat little cosplay prop too! It's great when you can just make stuff for cosplay on your own rather than buying it hehe.
