TheDischordant
Like the title says, this is incredibly late in coming. I was very active on NP some six years ago, I fell out of it due to various reasons, but recently I decided to get active again, start playing, play some of the games, eventually finish my NeoQuest play through, and just kind of enjoy the site (as much as possible). Not a lot to say about me in terms of introduction. I'm a bit of a nerd, I enjoy reading, writing, etc, I've been on Neopets for the last 11 years, with sporadic periods of activity. I spend most of my time roleplaying, running d20 games, or listening to music. I'm usually kind of shy, and it took.. well, obviously a long time to build up to wanting to say hello on the forums. I tend to go into long periods of quiet, and I don't always contribute to threads because I find others have said it better, but I'm trying to push myself back out of my 'comfort zone' and into a place where I can be active and social. And I got to rambling. Right, hi everyone! midnight_spell360, S_A and Angeló
Pastel-Princess
Hello and welcome! I also have an on and off relationship with Neopets as well xD I tend to be shy when it comes to posting on topics as well, but I hope you can work the courage to post because I'm sure you have a lot of great things to say and I'm sure many people want to hear from you! I hope you enjoy it here ^^
rntracy1
Welcome to the forum. We definitely want to hear from you. It isn't a matter of who says what better than whom. People have different opinions, different outlooks, different ways of doing things, and one may know something that another person doesn't know. There are many different ways to do something and many different opinions. It is nice to hear more than one. Please, don't hesitate to express your way, we may be missing out. To be honest, when I first came to this forum, I felt the same way. But I jumped in, started chatting, and met a LOT of great people. Before I knew it, I was getting a lot of likes and great comments on my posts! I thought, "wow! people are actually interested to hear what I have to say!" I read through a lot of topics and people give a lot of great advice, but they don't always think of everything. Everyone has something to add. It would be a pretty boring world if one person knew EVERYTHING, right? lol. The contributions from so many members is what makes this forum so great. So, that is my long winded, rambling way, of saying welcome. life_eclectic and midnight_spell360
TheDischordant
Thanks for the very warm welcome. I know that it's going to be difficult some times to force myself out of the rut and into posting and being active. I just have to remember to stop holding myself back when it comes to interaction, is all. I have a lot of issues (that I don't really want to go into) that contribute, but I'll do my best. Thanks again for the welcome, and also the encouragement, I look forward to conversing with everyone in the future!
Aquamentis12
Welcome to the forums! Good luck getting back into being an active neogoer again! LOL I think I just made up a new word. XD Anyway, there are a lot of really friendly and helpful people here on the forums. Since you're talking about being shy, a common thing, hopefully knowing that there are friendly people here, will help you work through that. I only say that because it sounds like that's what you want to do. Neoquest 2, that's a good game! I wish they would create a 3rd Neoquest adventure. Good luck finishing your playthrough! I hope you get a decent prize! :D When I finished on InSaNe mode, I got Velm's Staff of Righteous Fury, the weakest of all the Insane prizes. So I wish you better luck! There are sites with maps and full information for both NQ games. We have a beginners guide here for NQ2 http://thedailyneopets.com/neopets-games/neoquest-2 There's a link to a petpage with full map links too. I played before I knew about TDN. Back then, I used this site. Full information on both Neoquest games. https://idnq.net/ We've got lots of fun forums too. I hope you have fun time here with us at TDNF. :) Happy gaming! :) midnight_spell360
life_eclectic
Welcome! It is common and awesome, this story of people coming back to Neopets after however many years. I think the longest hiatus for me was four years, but I don't think I could ever be away for that long again. I wasn't on TDN then and I am more involved now, well more involved for me. That is to say, I post a fair amount, but I don't reply much (if at all) because I tend to get overwhelmed. I like TDN forums a lot because the people are really helpful and friendly and also easygoing. Oh, I'm also very introverted (probably not surprising), so I relate to your comment about going into long periods of quiet. I think you will like posting on here and another thing is people always are interested and will want to read what you have to say and that is a really cool thing. Okay, take care! =)
midnight_spell360
Welcome to TDN Forums! I can see that you have a lot in common with a lot of members here, so the shyness almost seems like a binding point for many of us. I post from time to time, but being someone who is just heading into high school. I feel out of my league when important topics come up and really just become amazed when I read the answers that members give to reach out and help everyone who has questions or are going through some pretty tough life situations. So as "chatty" as I am, I appreciate not posting & reading which helps me learn a lot more than how to play a game. I hope you will feel at home here and make friends with some wonderful people. Like Tracy said, it would be boring if there was only one way to look at things or react to things, even if I think I'm right on something-I want to know what someone else has to say or feels so I will learn that there is more than one side to everything. Well, happy gaming!
TheDischordant
I tend to be the flip side of that, as I'm well into adulthood - going to be celebrating my 34th birthday some time next month. I'm a stay-at-home busybody type, who spends most of their time on MMO's, and tinkering with NP games, even though I tend to be pretty bad at them for whatever reason. I get decent scores in games on other websites, so you'd think I'd be better at Neopets games, but that never seems to be the case. @Aquamentis12 - Thanks for the links! I used to use IDNQ, and I'm not sure which guide I'll use this time, only I know that I need to use one of them. @_@; @funkydragondiva78 - I was gone from Neopets for almost seven years, just because time and inclination kind of drove me away from the site. I stopped playing it, along with doing a few other things I really enjoyed, and went into kind of a self-imposed isolation period. But the fact that I'm back at all is just because I still love Neopets, I love my pets, I love playing around on the site, and I even like reading the forums, despite not doing much with them (the Neoboards, not here), though I'm pretty quiet here, too. @midnight_spell360 - I definitely appreciate the sentiment, even if I tend to be a little more set in my ways. I do enjoy reading the opinions of others, even if I disagree with them, because that's how we learn. There are some topics I plan on steering far away from in any given capacity (religion, politics), because those are the topics that I've seen just tend to lead to trouble. Partially because I'm set in my ways, but also because, while I like to say I'm open-minded, I'm also very opinionated, and I don't like what might inevitably become confrontation. Anyway, like I've said before, I thank everyone for taking the time to make me feel welcome. I'll try to poke feelers into the rest of the forum soon, and post about. Not sure what I'll find to talk about yet, but I'll figure something out! o/
