Can You Help Me Being Premium?

Recommended Posts

Well, lately I have had A LOT of free time and I decided to dedicate it to Neo. So, I was really consedering the possibility to get a Premium Membership, the only problem is that I don't have a credit card and my parents would never lend me theirs to spend on games. Then, I'm here to check if someone can help me with a 8 dollars payment. I'm really disposed to make it work ^^

Premium memberships charge the same card, so I'm not sure that someone would make a down payment for you, BUT you could save up & get a prepaid gift card (visa, amex etc.) that would allow you to cover the cost. I do this when buying neocash so as to not use my real card online :rolleyes_anim:

I'm sorry, but this is sounding like a bad idea. Because 1) someone would need to give their credit card information to you and 2) how would you make your payment to them?

I think your best bet would be to buy a prepaid gift card (you can get those at Walmart or drug stores like CVS if you live in the US) because not only would it be no risk to anyone, including yourself, but you can use it again for future purchases without anyone's help.

I second (third?) the above advice.

Saving up and purchasing a pre-paid Visa/AmEx/etc from the drugstore or grocery on your own protects both you and anyone that might consider your request.

You can get the pre-paid Visa/AmEx/etc cards at pretty much any drug/grocery and you can get them in varying increments, so I am sure that you will be able to find one that both meets your needs and your budget.

Good luck!

Yeah, It would be really complicated to debit from someone's else credit card every month. Sorry, I think I'm way to excited with the ideia of being Premium. Anyway, I'll try the pre-paid credit card thing, actually, I tought about it, but was afraid of it not working :(

As much as I hate to rain on parades...

Because of the recurring payment, you also can't use a pre-paid Visa (or other) gift card. (When I bought Premium, it specifically said that in the instructions.)

I would wait on Premium until you at least have a bank account--most large banks will give you a debit card that can double as a credit card and just link straight to your bank account.

OR an alternative is to just not get premium. Although it has some benefits, you can still play neo and have just as much fun without it. I've never had premium and still enjoy the game just the same. Also what happens when you run out of premium and have to get rid of you 5th pet? :(

the only reason I'm tempted to get premium is for SSW :X lol

just buy some NC cards

oh and never ever ever ever ever share credit card information with anyone, good advice for when you get one

Seriously? Neo doesn't accept pre-paid credit cards as payment 4 Premium? Can you tell where exactly in th rules TNT says this? Can anyone confirm this information?

@ShelleyJoy

I love Neopets and have spent SO mucn time in it that I just can't let it go. But everything on Neo is very mechanic, artificial, like refreshing a page all day to get a nice item to reestock. I wanna try Premium to see if I change my mind.

You can always use a Paypal account to pay for Premium, so you may want to save up some money to give to your parents, and then have them transfer the money into a PayPal account to pay for the membership. Hopefully your parents would be ok with this option if you already have the cash to give to them. Good luck!

have you looked at the benefits of a premium account? you're still going to have to refresh a page all day to get a nice item to restock...and if you think the site is mechanic and artificial right now I don't think premium is going to change much of your opinions. you still have to work hard to achieve your goals, although premium does have some nice perks. Just make sure you have your money saved up! Maybe soon you'll have your own credit card :)

For the record, I have experienced precisely one month of premium in my life, and I paid for it with a pre-paid Visa gift card. I saw nothing prohibiting it in the directions when I signed up for it, and when the month was over, the premium stopped. No big deal. :)

I had Premium for three months a few years ago when they put it on sale for half price. It wasn't worth it. The only good thing is the SSW, which still has a limit on how much you can use it before "it tires out" and you have to wait awhile for it to allow you to use it again. Okay, not having ads is really great, but unless you have a slow computer, that shouldn't really be that much of an issue. The Space Faerie scratchcards aren't worth it, even for free. As ShelleyJoy said earlier, you have to lose a pet to bring the number back down to four if you ever quit premium. That's rough. (I can't imagine having to do that. I know they're just virtual, but I can't have a real pet and I've become attached to my four.)

NeoPets Premium simply isn't the price tag, unless you can get it on a sale. They do it every end of winter. (You just missed the last one by about a month. :sad02: ) Wait until then. They might even have a sale in summer. Trust me... it's simply not worth full price.
