AJ11
I got a neomail today from someone out of the blue, probably because I have a paintbrush for sale .. it is at the correct price for the item if a little low btw this is the message - I will not mention the senders name Just out of curiousity why does every listing I see for a paint brush I am wanting are way overpriced and will take years just to get enough np to even considering buying just one of them? I mean I understand the inflation and what not but seriously asking for 1mil or more is ridiculously overpriced. The halloween paint brush is one of the paint brushes I really want but seeing how I'm starting over on neopets I find that the prices are entering the whole greedy territory. I am interested in seeing if you are willing to talk about different prices etc. Hope to hear from you soon and sorry if this sounded like a rant. I started to reply helpfully explaining that I got my points working hard etc and that if everything was low price no one would really want it that much -then I thought hmmm no I dont want to start talking to this person, after all they are actually insulting me implying I am being greedy and are almost begging for the pb for a silly low price then I thought should it be reported? I was offended and if they are copy and pasting then they are simply begging just couldnt decide so I thought I would ask here ?? what is the best thing to do about this please? I can easily just ignore it but should I report it to stop them doing this to others?
caleew
Personally I'd report it - because the likely hood is if you were to say yes and sell it to them very cheaply, they'll then sell it on at normal price, essentially conning you.
LunaS
I agree with the above commenter. If this person is so desperate for that paintbrush he should save up. I started playing again last september and I made about 4 million since then, and haven't been playing that obsessively. Point is, you want something, you work for it. They have no right to call you greedy. missmadiemay and emily_speck_15
Bibii
I probably would not report that person and would reply with stuff that you intended to say... I would also suggest him/her ways of learning NPs and other alternative ways of getting his/her dreamie. I don't know, it does not seen like a scam to me :S
Xepha
My 2 cents... I would delete the message and ignore that person. MaraquanEyrie, patricebee, Ashbash and 4 others
Saxen
I'm with Xepha on this one They apologised at the end but still... Doesn't sound like they'd really listen to reason if you were kind to them
siniri
I agree with Xepha; I would probably just block them and move on.
juststoppingby
I find that with a lot of online games, you're going to have a lot of these folks griping about high prices and basically asking for free things. Ignore them and move on with your life.
miraclemommy
ignore it. :sad01_anim: hate that they basically went off on you
rntracy1
Everyday I play NP I hope for a rare item, but then I think, "that is WHY it is rare, because you don't get it every day. If you did, it wouldn't be so rare, wanted, and sought after." What would be the fun in the game if EVERYTHING was so easily attainable?? Honestly, everything in life is achieved through hard work. Problem is, I have a friend on neopets who, is a wonderful person, but is very gullible. If she were to receive a neomail like that, she WOULD lower the price of the PB. Yes, that is her problem, but people out there taking advantage of others should be reported. Just my opinion, for what it's worth.
circlette
Somebody call a whambulance! But seriously, I'd reply and politely tell them if they want a really want a valuable item, then it is 100% possible to save up for one with enough time and patience. If you worked hard for something, you appreciate it much more.
slavecrown
I definitely wouldn't reply as they clearly aren't being reasonable and wouldn't listen anyway. Probably the wisest course of action would be to report them for scamming and block them - I doubt you're the only person they sent that message. patricebee
One more vote with Xepha. They may be having a bad day and taking it out on you (not fair) but I sometimes think that silence speaks loudly. If they continue to rant at you, report it and block them. capgal
Oh gosh, I definitely wouldn't report that! The user didn't do anything wrong. It sucks that you were the recipient of a rant just because you have a PB for sale, but you have the option to block that user if you don't want to interact with them. Personally I would reply that you don't determine the market price, but your item is priced accordingly and you recommend a, b, and c, and ways to earn NP. If you don't want to reply, though, that's fine. Frankly, if a letter like that leads someone to offer it a lower price, that is the sellers perogative, but that doesn't make it scamming. Good luck with your sale!
dawnshine
Reporting that would be silly at just as lame as the original messenger. Reporting people isn't meant to be treated lightly. This person isn't actually causing you any harm, trying to scam you, etc. They're just a little lazy and upset that it will take time and effort to get what they want (boo hoo). I think reporting would be a little immature. Don't reply, block if you're that offended, move on. No harm done to you or them or anyone. capgal
emily_speck_15
I would just forget about it. I had someone try something like this, trying to get me to give them a mp because they sent me a quest item. Some people are annoying, but that is what the block button is for! Shelley
I think this is kind of pushing the line. I don't know if it really fits into the realm of report-able abuse. I mean I've had a random person directly tell me "I need dubloons, codestones, and paintbrushes. Give them to me now." now THAT is reportable. I just wouldn't reply and if they keep hassling you, directly begging, or demanding, then go for it. seems they were just frustrated and were trying to see if they could haggle capgal
AJ11
Thanks to everyone who has replied so far, having read all responses I have decided to forget about it and hope this is not someone out to scam people generally. I dont think I have ever reported anyone in all the years I have been on neopets so I was very reluctant to do that. If I get any further mails from them I will reconsider depending on what they say I didnt actually realise that there is a block button, so thanks for that info, I suppose Im pretty lucky that I have never felt the need to block or report in all this time .. seems a shame to change that now over something so silly thanks again everyone
Ashbash
I'd go with Xepha on this one. No need to respond and I honestly don't really see a need to report it either. You're always going to find people who act like that online. I always try to just ignore them and go on with having my fun!
