MELioristic Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 Well, thank the heavens for TDN. Maturity is here for sure, and when it isn't, it's at least moderated ^_^. So beyond true. Its really nice to retreat back here to vent! Quote
rachiee Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 Wahoooo!!! I'm a super member!!! To celebrate this milestone I have a new username! Yaaay congrats! A lot of people are becoming Super Members lately, haha. Well, thank the heavens for TDN. Maturity is here for sure, and when it isn't, it's at least moderated ^_^. ^ this. The TDN community is full of friendly, mature and talkative people- to be honest, I've started to prefer TDNF over JNF nowadays. Quote
MELioristic Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 I've started to prefer TDNF over JNF nowadays. Ive never been to JNF, and I don't think I need to! TDNF is treating me crazy well :] Quote
Tedhaun Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 To be honest, I couldn't argue with what Blurrz had to say about TDN and its sophisticated folk. Also, I'm active at both JNF and TDN, but TDN more these days due to a nice, really active and upbeat community. Quote
Naamah D. Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 The people on here are alot nicer than I expected. The non-Neopet forums I've been members of, the people are just moronic. Getting into heavy arguements, shouting vulgarities at eachother, they're just a breeding ground for Cyberbulling. I feel very welcome here :laughingsmiley: Quote
MELioristic Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 I totally hear you. But here the people are welcoming and are really willing to help you! it's the coolest little community Ive seen in a while :D Glad to be a part of it Quote
Spritzie Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 I've never been on other forums, besides TDN. I'm read around some, for different reasons, but never joined any. Quote
Manta Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 I haven't checked out the JN Forums; what are they like? I wanted to join one off-Neo forum, and TDN was the one I picked. But I've been wondering how they others are. Quote

I'm not sure how or why I found TDN, but it was sometime in April 2008 and I'm glad to be here. I've met a lot of really awesome, generous and friendly people here. I feel a lot more welcome here than I do at JNF. There's sort of a clique system there, and I do NOT fit into any of those cliques. With TDN, it's a tight-knit place where everyone knows who you are and you're friends with them. You don't really come across many communities like that. ^_^ I haven't checked out the JN Forums; what are they like? I wanted to join one off-Neo forum, and TDN was the one I picked. But I've been wondering how they others are. They're not as tight-knit as TDN, they have a shoutbox and a word rule in the games forum. It's a bigger community with somewhat of a clique system (as I mentioned previously). Quote
MELioristic Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 I used TDN long before I used JN (TDN avatar checklist) and I never had the urge to even check out JNF! but TDN on the other hand I must have been magnetically attracted to Quote
Sakabato Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 I am also a member at the Jellyneo Forums, it seems like a nice place for me. Bah, the Neopets games are still lagging for me. >.< Quote
Ruto Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 I have been on one other forum while staying here, and I must say it became terrible after a while. The site itself changed so much that the members started becoming more hostile towards each other. You could find some sort of argument on practically every thread, I'm not joking. Needless to say I'm not going back there again. Quote

Ah, okay. :D Part of what I love about TDN is that we all chat together, rather than split off into large groups that ignore each other. It's a comfortable forum size for me. Quote
MELioristic Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 true the size makes it easier to find each other. and I like seeing who is online so I know who Im looking for! Quote
Manta Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 Yeah, I love when I go online and see the online bar, and say "Oh, I know all these people!" :D *throws pudding into the middle of the group of TDNers* Quote
MELioristic Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 ya hehe I get excited clicking on profiles to see what forum they are reading. Its like a game of tag! Quote
IrishLiz Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 hey guys. For those of you I told earlier, I'm still out of the country. We just got internet in the apartments (before we had to walk to the hotel or about 20 minutes to the computer lab) but it's super spotty. I'm supposed to be out catching lizards, but I'm sick today, so I stayed home for the day. I think I joined TDN initially for the lending, and all the help articles, and then I just liked all the people here on the forums. I was off neo for a little while so I didn't go on TDN either, but after I came back (about a year and a half ago) I like it so much now that I would probably hang out and chat if if I didn't play neo. I'm gonna try and do dailies... we'll see how well it works as the internet seems to go out every minute or two. :worried: Quote

Spritzie Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 Hey Liz! How's your trip been going? I'm always torn as to whether to hang out here, or go play my AC games. Last year, TDN won out over YYB a bit too much. Quote
MELioristic Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 Last year, TDN won out over YYB a bit too much. aahahh I was worried that might happen to me too! but judging by yesterday's wins Im doing alright! Quote
Spritzie Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 To get to my goal rank of 15, I only have to play about 252 SOSD/MSN a day, but I tend to get really distracted, not to mention I don't have internet at home anymore, for now. So I have to get as much as I can in on the 3.5 days I'm at work. Quote
MELioristic Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 eeee thats amazing I really don't know how some people do it! I don't have the kind of commitment necessary to play hundreds of games daily :( Quote
Spritzie Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 I really, really wanted to get to All Star this year, but I just couldn't do it. I got 900 of SOSD both of the first days. After that, I was sick of it. I even maxed a few days. (It took me nearly 10 hours, thanks to TDN distracting me, but I got about 1200 SOSD 3 days in a row while at work.) But it just got too be too much, not to mention without internet at home, and me only being at work for 3.5 days, I had to cut some corners. But I'm really happy with 15. I just need to get more games played while at work. Quote
Manta Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 I'm supposed to be out catching lizards, but I'm sick today, so I stayed home for the day. OOH!! what kind of lizards?? and where? *is a herpetology nerd* Lol you guys, every time one of you talks about AC, I'm all "WOOT I GOT RANK1 FOR THE AVATAR!!" :laughingsmiley: Quote
Spritzie Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 :laughingsmiley: I was like that last year. That was my main priority. All Star (which didn't happen) was secondary. This year, I'm working harder. I'm already nearly 3 ranks above last year. (I was 10 last year, I'll make it to 13 today.) Quote
