  1. I've parted with the competing site, but I still want to lurk a tad, because I entered a customization contest right before I took off. :P

Anyway, I went to lurk at the right time, because kitten article! :D (Complete with a cute picture...reminds me of Navy's little Ringo. ^_^)

  2.

There's a saying here in Brazil, I don't know if it exists elsewhere, but anyways: it says "The more I get to know people, the more I love my dog".

Yeah, I've seen it as a meme, only with "cat". :D

I definitely agree, considering all the trouble I've had lately. xP

  3. I can't even remember anything I suggested on the survey. Let me see if I said something here on the boards.

*goes diving through the search feature*

Yay! It didn't take me long to find myself. Rather than copypasta-ing everything I wrote in that particular post, I'll give you the link. :)

    Your TL;DR summary...

    • Filters are too restrictive
    • Hate the neoboards
    • Guilds are just too much drama
    • Even poorly run events are better than nothing at all

And I'd like to see Shenkuu updated and Lutari Island come back. Among some other things that I'm sure people will suggest and I'll agree with. ^_^

  4. Like many others in this thread, NFs, no...other online friends, yes. (My Neofriendships are just too fleeting, I'm afraid. :( )

My first time was also my last trip to Las Vegas in 2008. I had been in "Wizard School" (don't even ask...OI!) and one of the ladies from my "house" lived in Vegas. She invited me to an annual event that she goes to and I thought it sounded fun, so off I went! Actually, I met quite a few people during that trip. There was a gal from...I don't remember if she was actually from Quebec or was just fluent in French (probably both)...that asked if anyone wanted to spend time together and that sort of thing, so I volunteered. She changed hotels so she could be closer to me and we spent a lot of time together. So much fun! (And there was also the magician that I met that I'd seen on television. :D )

I finally met one of my internet friends (after five years!) in April and we spent a long weekend together. She has health problems, but we still went so many places that I was plum tuckered out by Sunday!

  5. Yeah, you're just awesome anyway, though, Angelo.

*sneezes so hard, she has to go fetch her laptop from the other room*

    'scuse my allergies. :P

...oh, I remember now what I was going to talk to you about, Angelo. A writers' thread. PM me if you're interested?

  6. Reading your fuzzies post, she sounds super smart!

Sometimes, I wonder if I can understand Lauren and Ani simply by...empathy is probably the word I'm looking for...or if I'm just reading too much into things. xD

  7. I'm not trying to race Liana, but we're doing an excellent job of keeping up with each other. :D

    Plus 550 SSD wins. ;)

  8. Then there's the Dowager Queen of Jordan, who started off as (perhaps not-so) plain old Lisa Halaby from America. That was a rare one...skipping straight from commoner to queen!

How about Grace Kelly? She was a movie star, but she still made the leap from star to princess consort.

I love this detour. Romance. Fairytales. *happy sigh*

  9. Aren't they all loves? ^_^

(I was going to attach a picture, but it's too big!)

Looking sunny and fine in their House of Orange best! Love it!

And Princess Leonor is so adorable, from her blonde hair down to the little gap between her teeth! Did you know she's going to become the youngest direct heir in the world?

Oh, I'm a feminist, too. It was going to annoy the...ah...twirly fruit (hee hee) out of me if her cousin was named Prince of Asturias. 1975? Yeah, okay. I don't like it, but okay. 2014? No excuse for not making Leonor crown princess!

  10. JennyBean helped me, but I'll tell you anyway. :)

I was curious to know if Spain followed Salic primogeniture or cognatic, since there's a major regime change scheduled for next Thursday.

To simplify (for any reader who doesn't know my fancy words), I wanted to know if Princess Leonor was on track to become Princess of Asturias when her father became king next week or if they were still favoring males--in which case, her cousin Felipe de Marchalar y Borbon would become crown prince.

(For those who don't know Spanish history, Spain was still favoring men when Juan Carlos became king in 1975, so Felipe de Borbon y Grecia became crown prince over his sister Elena, who is five years older.)

Oh and just because I can't help myself: I want to run up, kiss the new king on the cheek, squeak and run away. xD (I'm more partial to guys like Mark Consuelos and Danny Pino, but Prince Felipe is pretty cute. ;) )

  11. Pfft! That's nothing. My cat once "gave" me a bottle of shower gel for Mother's Day. I think my dad still signs my birthday card from him and the cats! :laughingsmiley: (It's been five months. I've forgotten already. :P )

    Rhi_zps9d93ecfe.jpg

That's the one I've been meaning to post. Her name was Rhiannon and she passed away in 2005 during a dishwasher fire. (Of all the things in all the world, right?) (Don't be too sad...she was five then, so she'd probably be gone by now, anyway.)

It's funny (apparently, my fingers also think it's "sunny"...hello typos!)...I may have taken this photo just to finish off my film, yet ten or eleven years later, it's a point of pride--go figure!

Of course, there's a good reason for that: now that people have pretty well given up cameras in favor of their phones (or at least young people have), it's so rare to see a photo taken with actual film. That was in a camera with no flash and a manual shutter advance. That I developed and subsequently printed in a darkroom. That I later framed, because I really like it. *shrugs*

Oh and my dad has some cat pix in a multi-frame in the hall leading to my room. But I really just asked my question for an excuse to post the pic of Rhi and talk about it. xD
