  1. I got an Eyrie.

I didn't see the event so I was kinda freaked out when I noticed an extra pet on my account!

Edit: And right after I post that I got another!

You have been volunteered to foster a Neopet, plotyg! Make sure they get plenty of love and attention, and don't forget to feed them! If you would like to learn more about how the fostering program came about please visit the Pound.

  2. Hiya and welcome to TDNF! My name is Hailey. I'm surprised Neo isn't blocked, I've encountered that it's blocked in many places! I remember back when I was just a youngster it was blocked in my middle school. Anyways, it's a nice atmosphere here. Good to talk about Neo happenings, getting advice, and just life in general. Happy to have you back on Neo.

Great to meet you Hailey :D

I was surprised too! I work at a bank, so they are super strict on what websites you can access.

    Glad to be back!

  3. When you're in a supermarket and someone just pushes in front of you to get to something on the shelf without any recognition or "excuse me". WOW. Learn some manners.

That is the worst. I used to work in retail and people would constantly reach over or push past me without even acknowledging me, like rude much? Ugh!

  4. That being said you should get a pitbull because if you give them love and train them they should be fine and not show bad aggression.

If you're willing to be responsible and understand their needs, they are wonderful dogs!

Plus you gotta have a pretty thick skin to own a bully breed - my dog "looks like a Pit Bull" so I get all those wonderful, nasty comments about it. He was about four months old and we were out for a walk, minding our own business, when a woman across the street just started screaming "Oh my god, it's a Pit Bull!" So... there's stuff like that to deal with, haha.

  5. What is your opinion?

Are they naturally more aggressive or is it all in the ownership?

I've always wanted a pitbull, but unfortunately at a family dinner I had an argument with my parents/grandparents about it. (I live on my own, but it was brought up and immediately I was attacked for this.)

It got me wondering what people honestly think about these dogs. I've heard so many great stories about them.

I'd argue that they have a tendency to be naturally animal-aggressive. Human aggressive, no (or at least they SHOULDN'T be - awful breeders nowadays don't care at all about proper temperament), though there are those dogs in every breed that are just wired wrong. I own a bully breed dog, wouldn't trade him for the world.

  6. Personally, I wouldn't be able to shoot my own pet. It'd be too hard. Maybe I could in the example mentioned earlier, where they've been hit by a car and are dying, and it's a matter of ending it now or watching them slowly suffer to death. But otherwise, I'd let the vet do it.

I don't have a problem with others handling it this way, though, not just with pets but with livestock as well. It's instantaneous and thus painless, you don't have to transport to the vet (and back, if you plan to bury them yourself), it's less expensive.... Living way out in the country you may not even have a vet nearby the house, and if the animal is suffering you want to end things as soon as possible.

I would only put the animal down in cases of serious suffering, though, of course. If there's another treatment and I can afford it, I would try that first. I've had to put down two dogs in my life and it's never fun.

True that. My previous two dogs had to be PTS. Traumatic enough having a vet give them an injection, can't imagine shooting them. Though it may have been easier on my BC, her last moments were ... stressful to say the least. I can definitely see cases where it would make sense to go that route, I just don't know if I'd have been able to do it.
