A spinach, feta, and egg white wrap plus a hazelnut macchiato from Starbucks. Yummm. Kinda burned my tongue, though.

I have no clue who I'm supporting... I'm amazed at how some of you are so gung ho for a particular team--I can't decide! I've only fully participated in one AC before, and I think I supported Shenkuu that year. Shenkuu's pretty cool, I like the Asian-ish vibe. So maybe I'll start a tradition, although from the poll and the comments they don't look super popular.

I guess I'm leaning Shenkuu but I haven't made any solid decisions yet.

This is a brilliant idea. It's a way to not only help your friends out, but to use up resources when you don't need to build anything for yourself. I just hit level 44 the other day and spent all my wood and most of my stone and mud leveling up my storages, but give it some time and I'll be overflowing again with nothing to use it on. I may follow your lead and start gifting things to those who could use them, in the future. Now I just need actual neofriends to give stuff to. xD

Premium memberships charge the same card, so I'm not sure that someone would make a down payment for you, BUT you could save up & get a prepaid gift card (visa, amex etc.) that would allow you to cover the cost. I do this when buying neocash so as to not use my real card online :rolleyes_anim:

Mine is an Alice in Wonderland reference, from when Alice meets the Cheshire cat. 'Well! I've often seen a cat without a grin,' thought Alice; 'but a grin without a cat! It's the most curious thing I ever saw in my life!' It's also my main neopets account name.

Finally finished A Storm of Swords!

In addition to starting A Feast for Crows, I've got myself a copy of Finding Darwin's God. It's nonfiction, talking about how God and evolution can coexist. I already believe that, but I'm very interested to read the book. Hopefully it will give me better arguments when trying to present my case to people who believe the two are mutually exclusive.

...ohhhhhhh HANG ON. I bet the profanity filter is reading MSN as an attempt to foster off-site contact. Still not sure why that would return as a profanity warning and not as a warning about not having off-site contact though.

I started typing a detailed response, and then I realized I was only guessing. I think this is a great question for the editorial. Copyright is tricky because of "fair use" and "parody." And when companies send TNT a "cease and desist" letter asking them to remove their copyrighted material, TNT is likely to comply vs. facing the legal costs, even if your use is covered by fair use. If they comply by freezing your account, you'd be at their mercy to argue your case and get your account back (without the offending page, of course). But it's a good question for TNT, and I'm sure others would be interested in an answer.

So, my mom (a school librarian) brought home baby chickens from work. A Pre-K classroom hatched them from eggs and they needed a good home. My mom has wanted chickens for a while now, so when no one else could take them she snatched them up. We have seven, and four more are on the way once they are out of intensive care (they have pneumonia). They're a week old. No idea if they're boys or girls yet, but once they're about 4-6 weeks old we'll be able to tell.

So far, everything is going well. You can kinda barely see it on the middle chick in the first picture, but they're starting to get their first set of real feathers! The yellow down is being replaced by white, mostly just on the wings right now. In a few more weeks they'll get their second set of feathers.

Right now they have to stay in the house, but in four more weeks we'll have a coop built for them and they'll be old enough to go outside.

    So exciting!

I know that feeling, and I've gotta say: Go finish your assignment! Let neopets be your reward, you get to play when you're finished. It can be hard to stay motivated through the entire semester, but those points are important. Don't let the hard work from earlier on be ruined by a moment of weakness now, so close to the end. You can do it! :)

What I do when users list like that, I usually neomail them and ask the lowest they're asking for for the item. I usually add on 5-10k from what they say, if it's lower than the suggested value and if they are nice lol

I'm definitely looking forward to trying some fresh eggs! I've heard they're better than store-bought, and I like those plenty already. Maybe five to six more months and our girls will be ready to start laying. I think we'll have to keep any roosters separate, though, to avoid fertilizing the eggs. Not sure how we'll do that.

I'm in central Texas, so the weather is pretty reasonable most of the year. It gets hot in the summer, but the winters don't get very brutal. Many chickens can handle cold down to something like -20F, so that shouldn't be a problem. It gets hot in the summer here, though, so we'll have to have good ventilation in the coop to make sure they don't overheat. I've read tips like feeding them frozen watermelon and adding ice to their water, or having a mister if it's not already too humid. We'll figure that out in a few months when the time comes, I guess. Hopefully this year isn't like last year, where we had something like 100 days that were over 100 degrees. Not in a row, thankfully, but it's still way higher than the average. Winter was cold this year, so hopefully summer is cool as well.

It is a bit of work. Right now we're changing out the wood shavings twice a day, and changing their food and water daily. Also, when they're this young (it's a little gross, sorry) you actually have to check their butts for dried poop. It can block them up and then they'll die. They're doing good on that front, though, so far. I'm sure cleaning up after them will get harder as they get bigger, but right now it's not too bad.
