Hi Cass! Nice introduction! If I may ask, where are you from? I haven't seen anybody before who's fluent in Russian and learning Japanese! What kind of games of you make? :) I have been thinking about joining ZYDP but so far I have the lab map for two weeks now and might consider it again.

Underwater is really cool! But the mystery themes you've named are too specific. If you don't know what it's about (I don't know 'Murder she wrote' for example) then it's too hard. But you can say: crime scene or investigator.

I haven't had a baby or pregnancy but I'd like to know the gender! I just wouldn't tell anybody so that it's still a surprise to everybody else :)

About the links: when you have finished your outfit you can save it if you have an account. Registering at DTI is really easy, just follow the steps on the site! Then somewhere on the right of the screen you see the word 'share' which provides a link for you. You can even make it easier and select UBB (if I'm correct) and it will give you the code you can just copy paste in a forum post!
 
I love making beautiful customs I can't ever afford myself on DTI so if this contest would be on a regular basis, that would be so awesome! There doesn't even need to be a prize for me, but maybe a donation pool would be a good idea!

The story:
This Royalgirl Kyrii (UC) is called Aneira. She is the ruler of a small town, named Eira. It is hidden behind Terror Mountain, and only the bravest Neopians can find the Eira. Her heart has been frozen a long, long time ago and her wings were taken away by Fyora, the reason why is unknown. But it could be it was because of the fact that Aneira is related to Taelia, the snow Faerie.. Because of this, she hides away in her Icy Tower and never talks to anybody. But maybe, one day, the bravest and warmest Neopian will find a way to Eira and will melt Aneira's frozen heart.

How to play:
Anyone can participate in this contest, as long as they have a TDNF account created. There are no entry fees. You will be using DTI(Dress to impress) to come up with your customs based on the selected theme.You can enter one of your customized neopets as long as it abides by the current theme/specie selection. If the contest does not have a species, selected then you can choose any neopet species(Including UCs) and color. You can only submit one pet entry, unless the current theme states otherwise. Post your customization image, or the link to DTI to this thread within the enter date. A new thread titled, "Customization Contest Votes" will be created with a poll for our voting process. (Suggestion from Katsuokai) I will preview all the submitted entries on the voting thread. The Top 3 multiple voted customs will have a special display on the voting thread. You will also receive an awesome trophy to display on your user look-up or profile. If you would like your entry cropped in a design software for better quality for the voting thread, then type "Crop" anywhere in your customization entry post. If for any reason Sabs is not able to be online to update the customization contest or voting thread, Shelley will be a backup host to run the contest. Rules:

I agree with you that neopets hasn't gotten much new users over the years, but resetting old accounts isn't a good idea. Old accounts are rich and wealthy for a reason: they worked for it. When I started playing in 2006, those accounts were the accounts I looked up to and said: I wanna be like that. (Still not achieved that, though) Getting new players is pretty hard, because there are so many other games with better graphics and different gameplay. Maybe some new advertising helps. Another difficulty is time zones! As an European I kinda feel left out at Neo because everything is focused at America and Canada (nothing wrong with those countries) and in my country I can't even buy Neocash cards or merchandise, even if I wanted to! The worst thing about Neopets is the fact that you have to pay NC aka real money for almost every cool thing to dress your pet up. They really want to take every penny you can get :(
 
About interaction: I think a guide would be a fantastic idea! You could invent a complete plot around it, showing the ropes and showing much of Neopia (not too much), together with their pet! In a lot other games like RuneScape or even World of Warcraft you get a guideline. You need a guideline in Neopia as well because it's pretty big and can be overwhelming.

Well I don't think I have really creepy stuff or weird stuff I believed in. Except the fact that I did believe that you could get into a different world through a mirror, if you had the powers. This was because I read a book about it once... Still freaks me out sometimes.
 
Also, I do think cats can communicate and 'talk' to eachother. We breed cats and currently have 9. Yeah, nine. We have a big house, so it isn't much trouble. Seven of them are in our living room, most of the time and they do communicate. They don't really chat like we do ('Hey, what is your opinion about the food?') but they make certain noises and they meow in certain ways to communicate. They also have a very strong body language and it's really fun to watch if you're interested.
 
In the Netherlands we have a holiday called Sinterklaas (which looks like Santa Claus by the way) and he comes around in December to give us presents. My parents told me he would only give us presents if we're nice the entire year and that in December he'd come at night and leave the presents for us. I wanted to see him myself, so I stayed up until midnight, but never saw him. Later, I found out that Sinterklaas wasn't alive (he's real, he was a saint) and it were my parents who left the presents for us. I believed it until I was about 12 years old..... We also celebrate Sinterklaas at school and I got a day off back then. I still believed in Sinterklaas and still think they celebrated Sinterklaas without me back then..

I missed ONE Negg! One green orb and the rest is all golden. I missed the site theme :( Darn it.

Never going back to IE. I don't know what you mean with 'rogue extensions'.. As far as I know, my only extensions are AdBlock and AutoFresh.. 
My cookies are ereased every time I shut down my computer. I don't know how to clean my cash, really :$

That did sound creepier than I meant

Somebody from Europe here! I'm from the Netherlands and we do have some things that are considered different by outsiders!
 
To begin with, every area has a slight difference in speaking. We all speak Dutch, but all slightly different. In the south we say: our mom (translated) while in the north people say: My mom (translated). If you're from one area, you'll know whether the person who you're talking to is also from that area or somewhere else, just by listening to how they pronounce certain words.
 
Let's talk about celebrations! We recently had a huge, national celebration: Kingsday! This year was the first Kingsday, it was previously called Queensday. Kingsday is a holiday to celebrate the birthday of our King (or Queen). Kingsday is on the 26th of April, unless it falls on a Sunday, which means it will be moved. Queensday used to be on the 30th of April. When it is Kingsday, our king and queen will visit two cities. The cities then have an opportunity to show the royal family their specialities. Every where in the country you are allowed to set up a stall where you can sell your stuff. There are designated area's for markets like that. You can play games everywhere an everywhere you look you see people dressed in orange, because that is our nation colour. It's really fun!
 
The second holiday we have and the rest of the world is unfamiliar with, is Sinterklaas. You may see the similarity to the word Santa Claus. We celebrate Sinterklaas in the first week of December. Sinterklaas is a tall, slim, old man with a long white beard. He's always dressed in red, with a sort of hat and a golden staff. He rides a white horse and is helped by dark people in colourful clothes called Pieten. Together they bring presents through the chimney for good kids. That is how the story goes. Sinterklaas is actually called Sint Nicolas and lived in Turkey. He's already dead for a couple hundred years now. So the parents are the one who buy their kids presents and when they're old enough, kids will realise Sinterklaas isn't real. Then we'll just start giving each other presents. We call it surprises. You write your name on a paper, it all goes into one bowl and then you have to pick a piece of paper with a name on it. Then you have the person who you need to buy presents for. And it's most fun when you make a whole package around it. For example, when somebody likes horses, you can make a little horse and put the presents inside it. Not all people do these presents, as they may choose to do it at Christmas, or both, or none at all.
 
About food.. Yes we do have some typically Dutch food! We have something called 'drop' and I think it's called 'black liquorice' in English. We also have stroopwafels, which are cookie like waffles with syrup like thing. It's yummy. We also tend to eat a lot of milk and cheese. Real cheese, not plastic cheese from a fabric.
 
Kids learn to swim here at a young age, I think around 4 or 5 years old. Swimming is a very important part of our culture and we go swimming for fun all the times. Same goes for ice skating. Look at our success at the Olympic Winter Games! When born in the Netherlands, you learn swimming and ice skating!
 
Last of all: no, we're not all on drugs, we don't walk on wooden shoes and we don't smoke weed everywhere.

I started typing a detailed response, and then I realized I was only guessing. I think this is a great question for the editorial. Copyright is tricky because of "fair use" and "parody." And when companies send TNT a "cease and desist" letter asking them to remove their copyrighted material, TNT is likely to comply vs. facing the legal costs, even if your use is covered by fair use. If they comply by freezing your account, you'd be at their mercy to argue your case and get your account back (without the offending page, of course). But it's a good question for TNT, and I'm sure others would be interested in an answer.

Well a lot of things I dislike about neopets have been said already: random event avatars (managed to get lucky and get the snowager avvie!), the impossible amount of NP you have to spend for a PB. The fact that Baby colour is SO DARN CUTE but almost impossible to customise and only with NC. The fact that I get freaking crystal neggs I can't use because I won't spend 125 NC aka $5 to open a freaking negg. The fact that I can't buy any Neo merchandise or Neocash cards in my country (Europe). The fact that I've been around for 8 years and have never gotten an FFQ. I rarely get FQ at all. The fact that some games do not work properly and bug/glitch all the time. The screwed up ticket system from the help desk. The impossibility to get trophies. The fact that you can't rename your pets! (I'm not going to pound my 7,5 year old pet bc of a bad name) Some games are just way too difficult to get 1k with.
But most of all: YOU HAVE TO PAY NC EVERYWHERE. Do you want to buy that cool item? Too bad it's 250 NC. Here, have an item you can't use unless you spend 250 NC first. Want to gift a NC item? You can, but only if you buy at least a $5 Neocash card in the store and not online. The fact that there are some fun games that get you decent prices but you have to pay NC for it to play. Darn NC! Back in my days we could buy items with NP! Oh yes, don't forget the fact that there still is NO MOBILE APP even though everybody has a smartphone these days.
 
Writing all these negative things about Neopets makes me wonder why I am still here. But I like to do my dailies, including some games. And then just go and customise something and try coding and spending time on this forum. It helps me to pass the time.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - I hate, hate, HATE NC push. Don't give me crystal neggs if to open them it's 125 NC EACH. That's ridiculous and absurd. Stop using my inventory as a bribe - I can't trade them, I can't use them, and I seriously refuse to pay $5 to use them. If I wanted to pay for it, I would have in the NC Mall. But forcing it on me and making me SDB it drives me up the wall.

After doing the Wise Old King daily for 2.5 years everyday, today was the day!! :D
