It takes a lot of time and investment, but I'm a firm believer in the stock market. I make almost all my NP through it.

The word Gypsy itself isn't a slur .. just like the word Negro simply means Black in Spanish, however , its how it's used is the problem .. if it's used in a derogatory fashion then yes it's a slur. The word Gypsy is derived from Egyptian , which is where gypsies were originally thought to come from. Not all Gypsies are Romani , btw ... I think Gypsies are very beautiful and they are such free spirits. I met some of them in Spain and in the Balkan ... so in conclusion I think it's how you use the word is insulting , not the word itself ...
 
HOWEVER . I DO AGREE with you that some Neopian items can be insensitive .. not all GYPSIES ride carts and play tambourine anymore .. and Egyptians dont live in tents , sell daggers and worship the pyramids anymore [Qasala] .. etc etc .. but Neopia's a fantasy world where things exist in their fantasy / romantic aspect ... thousands of years in the past , obviously ... i mean look at the court dancer , sh's mostly inspired by Victor Hugo's Esmeralda ...

Last time there was a goodie bag, I thought the item inside was the best prize yet. Scratch that; this is officially my favourite goodie bag prize!

Yeah I think the times are still messed up, but it recently completed the round it was stuck on from a while ago so you should be able to bet again.

I finally got an enemy to drop the Inferno Robe in NeoQuest, so I defeated the Guardian of Life Magic, and now I have the Moonstone Staff! SO CLOSE to being done with the Techo Caves part of NQ, and then I only have two more bosses to deal with since I'm on the normal difficulty.

Yay for new trophies! I was trying for the avatar yesterday and ended up with a spiffy new trophy as well :)

I just successfully collected my bank interest. Either I just got lucky or they've fixed that problem now.

I got the avvie from the previous Neo meltdown, but it doesn't bother me that others can now get it. Yes, yes, the events were different - but the effects are, essentially, the same - we can't go on Neopets... We had to survive longer than 24 hours without it... fend for ourselves in the 'real world'... I don't really see a difference, other than we were warned this time so we could prepare; but honestly, who can truly prepare for horrors such as this?!
 
I look at really old, retired avatars - some that I had on old, long lost accounts - and long to be able to use them - so giving others the chance to get that makes me happy, not miffed. It's not like we can sell avatars, they're just nice to collect and reminisce with.
 
I can understand why it feels a bit annoying though. I mean, I would have loved any new avatar (please let there be a habi one!) but I don't think it's unfair. :)

I usually do the quest if the total item cost is <1000NP. Each stat increase costs me about 21k if I train it myself, so it's definitely worth it even if I only win rarely.
