Basically, you can talk about information on the TDN Forums, but asking outright if someone has an account/attempting to communicate with them outside of Neo is a big no-no. Also, no linking to it. (it's not a certified fansite; tdnforums.com =/= thedailyneopets.com)
They make this so because you're not to attempt to contact certain Neopets players outside of Neopets for protection, because if they divulge that information, people will be able to track them down and communicate with them outside of Neopets. This can be dangerous since outside Neo, communication can't be monitored, who knows if you'll be discussing real-life information on the forums, etc.
I have to emphasize that Neopets is a site that has a sizeable population of non-adult players (not just children but teenagers). This is the reason why they have ZERO tolerance policy. In fact, I believe they are legally bound to act like this.

As a side note, that NC event item BG is VERY DETAILED. You can zoom in to see all the small details in the artwork. Definitely a must have for any NC collector.
-
Lots over the years. Probably a bit over 600$... Then again, that's about as much I spend on Magic the Gathering per year.
-
As Rebecca said, there are too many potential troubles you can get yourself into by doing that. I would strongly advise you against it unless you are playing it with a group of users you know very well. However, you should set yourself rules on what happens when someone is not satisfied with the swap.

The cobweb fits more even though the runes look cool. I would suggest cobweb even though I voted runes. Don't ask me why... >_>

For those of you who are interested in playing a free-to-play online trading card games with a very high emphasis on skill and strategy, there is a recent Kickstarter for Alteil Horizons:
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/978065956/alteil-horizions
For those of you not familiar with Alteil. Alteil was a game originally released in Japan in 2004 and came to North America in 2008. Alteil Horizons is a "reboot" of the game with completely overhauled graphics and system and aim to get a larger playerbase.
As someone who still plays Magic the Gathering (MTG) (for more than 10 years) and has played YGO, Pokemon, Duel Masters and other TCG/CCG games in the past, I can say Alteil's gameplay mechanics are truly unique. Unlike most card game, you do not draw cards! You have full access to your entire deck right from the beginning. In other words, this is a "tactical" card game. The cards you play can be spells or units. The units you play act like characters/units in a traditional turn-based tactical RPG with full stats and set of abilities. Your resources, represented by SP is not lost by playing the units, Instead, you can reclaim the resources after your unit dies.
Also, the artwork is really stunning. You can see the full card list in the following link:
I am spreading the word just to attract more people that might be interested in backing the project. Sorry if this sounds too much like advertisement but I hope we can get more players. Please ask any questions if you are interested (or ask directly in the official KS comment section if you decide to pledge)

I like how Koi is dressed up usually. They have a very unique proportion. You can design them to look like boss characters...
Since my main pet is a Lupe. It's sometimes very hard to get the right customization. I wish TNT can make the lupe stand upright like in Altador.
-
No problem with names. My dearest pet has a name that is a random smash on the keyboard. It's not even pronuncable.
-
I would also suggest looking into playing the Food Club if you want to make money even faster.
This is one of the best ways to make money fast with a very old account. Also, Habitarium is just NP farming engine. It spits out free NP :)
If you need tips for making NP, just ask. You can make 250k+ per day without resorting to restocking.
-
The bottomline is:
If you have money to *throw away*, spend NC. This is not even gambling because you get zero return. Nada.
Same could be said of any online gaming with marketable options.
-
This is a way to get to your wallet.
My tip is: always keep in touch with new NC items as it gets released. Then buy the ones you really want.
Many of the cool items cannot be bought directly. They can only be obtained randomly by playing the NC games.
Also, many cool items are limited edition and can only be obtained with a small percentage of change by buying mystery capsules. For instance, to my frustration, I once paid more than 30$ and still didn't get the item I wanted. At the end it only turned out ok because I was able to trade for it.
-
You can go to forums like TDN and jellyneo to check for prices if the items are new and are not priced yet by the item databases (jellyneo has one). You can also try the neoboards but they are not always helpful because of the spam-like nature of the boards.
The key is being patient. You can not fast sell something unless it's a newly release item with high demand such as the recently released The Death Knell.
Someone doing I/J quests could eventually need the item if it's rare.
If it's a collectible item (plushie, book, stamp) then look for user's wishlist, gallery, etc. Then you can offer them a price you sell it for.

Finn , how much is it worth right now ?
It went as low as 12M yesterday. Now it's 20M. I guess it will keep inflating but I still think 100% freezers are better. I don't see how this is better than another 18 iconer other than the types of icons it deals (harder to block).
Not to mention some very odd activities concerning the item's auction. I won't say much but there are things that look fishy there.
-
But it does a whopping 18 icons. The icons are also hard to block which 1 single shield. Use this + lens flare + gbomb = destruction.
True but I still prefer swapping anagram swords around. Sure it's easier to block but I need certainty to be able to time everything right. Getting damage when I need a freeze is not safe enough for my taste. In other words I prefer 1x anagram + 1x 100%freezer instead of a single one with random chances of being either.
However, I might get one just for fun at one point... It's fun to use but a bit too random for my taste :S
-
This is very powerful weapon. However, I still prefer using 100% freezer to add more certainty.
-
Very nice item but very hard to get. I'm pretty sure you need to spend a lot of money + it's random. I've always disliked the randomness in these caps... I think I got a single Sloth LE item (the one I don't care) from maybe 10 capsules. Bad luck.
Finding trades for these items is also very difficult since apparently not a lot of people have them. I'll see if I am willing to dump (i.e. throw away) 50$ on this before the end of the next week. The worse part is that even if you buy 20 capsules you are not guaranteed to get all the items.
-
I know! I did get the stamp, and as much as I want to put it in my album, it's so hard to pass up 800K, which is only likely to increase more. Gah! Decisions, decisions...
Some tip: buy another stamp. Then put one in your album. Then wait to see if the price goes up for the extra one!
-
Very underwhelming weapon... I wish they can add some really special effects to the weapons. Maybe once BD goes out of beta? They should implement more special effects...
-
In the morning, for a brief period of time, you can access the Twisted Histories Mystery Capsule Adventures from the NC Mall. It seems like a mistaken leak about a new Mystery Capsule Adventure upcoming. Twisted histories most likely refers to Neovia...
Any clues on this from anyone? Someone screenshot it?
-
I would have bought this if it dealt 2 more icons for that price .... Oh well, I they have a new healer next time...
16.8M.. that's about 2 months worth of income on Neopets...
-
Please understand that the rules are there because of extremely strict regulations concerning a children's site. You should know that Neopets is one of the rare sites where there are a lot of underage children. In order to prevent abuse of the system, they have a zero tolerance policy.
Of course, it's a bit debatable but that's just how it is. The other reason is simply for convenience. You don't need to decide which content is scam and which is not if you simply have a rigid and inflexible rule. It was always like this with TNT. If there is a bug or exploit in a game, they freeze people instead of fixing the exploit. Much easier.
-
Anyone know what the Sorcerers Potion Set does?
Apparently, it works like this:
If your pet is not 100% healed, it will heal 30HP
Else, it will give your pet a +2 strength or +2 defense (random)
It goes super inflated price right now.
-
This may be foolish to ask, but how are you changing the gender? Is it just the different clothing choices?
You can change the gender of your pet by fighting the Mad Lab Ray Scientist in the BD.
-
I also suggest some moderate customization item, like a piece of clothing or accessory. Or a background.
kinda newbut been playing for ever

Obligatory comment on how to make money (i.e. grinding) restocking-free when you are serious :)
However, keep in mind not everyone likes grinding. If you don't like it, don't do it because you play a game to enjoy not to suffer.
I don't even know what I'm gonna do with all that capital sitting there. Minor case of OCD with my NP bank I guess...
1) Habitarium: This is 150k/day if you go for the 24/7 gem mode.
-Tips: If you go nest mode (you don't need to keep habi open 25/7), you have to build lots of nest and use nesters to lay eggs.
-If you go gem mode, you do lots of workers and you do "nest dump" to clear your resources. You should check online guides for help
-obscene amount of money (think about free ATM machine)
-moderate time to maintain (45-50 minutes per day)
-quite boring
-subject to crashes/bugs that cannot be easily fixed (merge or reset)
2) Food club: my current average is about 75% return on investment per day
-Tips: follow Hugo's bets for starters
-easy money, you ALWAYS win in the long run
-not boring because it's like gambling with fake money
-easy to maintain (5 minutes per day if you copy bet)
3) Faerie Employment Agency: 15-30k per day
-Tips: go for the 6k + jobs with jellyneo itemdatabse or shop wizard open. Check the price very fast and get the job if you get a profit of 3k or more.
-Remember there is a time bonus that goes down linearly until you hit the base price. Thus, avoid 2 minutes job unless it's really profitable from the get-go.
-With experience you will learn about the price of a lot of items and don't need wizard anymore (although it's still suggested)
-You can get 5 jobs per day. Only 3 jobs within 10 minutes allowed. Then 1 job next 10 minutes and the last next 10 minutes
-easy money
-moderate to maintain (5-10 minutes of actual time, must be spread across 30 minutes because of job limit per 10 minutes)
-You learn about prices
4) Flash games: play the less time consuming ones
-Kass Basher (3k/day): ~1 minute per day
-Fashion Fever (0.9k/day) ~ 10 seconds per day
-Catch the Petpet (1.5k/day) ~ 30 seconds per day
-AdverVideo (average 2k/day)
-Repetitive, but I picked the fastest ones
5) Battledome:
-You can now win on average 5-6 codestones per day, including reds. That's about 25-30k per day at least
-You need to train a battle pet
-You need decent weapons
-About 5-10 minutes per day depending on how strong your pet is...
6) Bank interest
-Money makes money. Soon enough if you do all 1-5 you will see your daily bank interest reach 10k per day and more.
7) Stock market
-Diversify your portfolio investment
-Depends on your strategy (short term, mid term and long term)
-If you are extremely patient you can get a lot of money but the risk is much much higher than all of the above
-Not as profitable in the short term as any of the other options
8) Restocking
-Not suggested, this is 100% grinding
-Boring, tedious and time-consuming
-Have to fight against bots (yes, there are cheaters out there and this is one of the only places you will be directly pitted against them)
-A lot of profit assuming you have the skills (can generate as much profit as all the other combined)
-Thrill (?) of getting unbuyables
(not for me)
