  1. I personally think that over lv100, with the current state of things, it's not unreasonable to go for red codestones.

lv80 is still early to start going for red codestones. However, lv100->250 is reasonable. This is because you can get 4.5x multiplier at stat 200. That is a jump from 3x to 4.5x, which is 50%. So you should be at least at stat 200 before stopping the training except for levels. Comparatively speaking, at stat 250, the multiplier is only 5.5x. Clearly, it's a diminishing return. At this pace, it might be more advantageous to get to lv250 so you can even unlock the faerie abilities.

Also, if you use NC, just crack a fortune cookie every 8 days.

If you are short on money, farm Habitarium (120-140k/day). However, I suggest saving NP for HT weapons instead, NOT for the overly-inflated codestones. Try the Maraqua arena for better codestone drops (giant wallein). Play KeyQuest to get codestones as well. I believe you can get 10+ codestones per day at that speed. Most of the training beyond 6 codestones most likely will take a full day. You will even end up with some spare ones everyday depending on how much you play. Take your time levelling up so you can profit as much as possible from cookies, quests, etc. without worrying about your stats increase kicking you into a more expensive training tier. In the meanwhile, stock up on red codestones.

  2. Right now, beyond 3-4 codestones, you should stop the training of all stats except level and aim for lv250 to start using red codestones. You'll save more NP that way. I was working on an Excel spreadsheet that made detailed calculations on optimizing the training time and cost depending on the desired stats and the current market price of codestones. Unfortunately, I haven't had time to complete it yet.

  3. Alright, I'm not sure I want to rejoin the Seekers. I joined them before the videos came out last time, and the video made them seem a little less altruistic. In addition, our thread here was less active than most of the others, and we were one of the last to kill our bosses, and some Seekers have said things like "I'm not sure how hard I'm going to work if there aren't puzzles."

Let's face it. I want a boon. And I'm going to battle as much as possible to help my faction get one. And I want to be on a team with others working just as hard, regardless of what we have to do or how grinding it is, with the fewest coattail riders (who think they can do little and win boons by picking the right faction and letting others do all the hard work -- which is a guarantee that their faction will lose -- just look at what happens to the previous year's AC winners each subsequent year).

So, Seekers, Order, Thieves, tell me why I should join (or stay on) your faction.

So far the boons are not groundbreaking so I am not motivated by them. Although avatars and site theme are much more interesting to get.

I am simply sticking with Seekers to stay consistent. Not flip flopping here.

  4. ...What if we were pitted against other users in the BD instead of faction NPCs....... it's probably not going to happen but I that was the impression I got when it stated "another chance to prove yourself on the battleground" :P

Still, I'm glad to be a thief once more, I can't wait until we see some fighting action again!

Like someone said before, it would be interesting to see how they handle balance in a 2-P event (if it happens).

Otherwise it would be unfair because of all those lab rats lurking around...

  5. Welp, I finally decided on the stock drop. I've already bought my stock for today, but at least I can do it tomorrow and Saturday.

It's too bad this isn't permanent, though.

If it was permanent, it would have caused major imbalance in the game.

Any of the following could happen after the truce:

1 - give prizes to the second faction (and repeat and so on) in order to balance everything out

2 - have another round of battle and then have another faction win (very likely based on the use of word "truce")

3 - obelisk opens with a new plot

4 - obelisk opens with a new daily

5 - announcement of a new monthly faction tournament or new feature of battledome

6 - nothing happens (i.e. a few more weeks of waiting)

  6. So far, still nothing about the counterfeit doughnutfruits. Clearly, it was a scam. :)

Then again, there is the Obelisk prize shop coming. So not sure what will have to those doughnutfruits. It would be funny if they get confiscated.

  7. Ah. Since it was a pop-up, I checked my NoScript and saw it was blocking something that hasn't been permanently blocked or allowed yet. The pop-up comes from zencdn.net. Weird, TNT. Very weird. Thanks for the info, though.

Wouldn't it be funny (in a terrible, not-funny way) if the Obelisk simply led to another Nick games site?

zencdn by its name is a content-distribution network (CDN). Makes sense that TNT is using CDNs.

  8. Does anyone know the exact number of wins it takes to achieve the "Doing Your Part" this slow connection is rather frustrating, and I am only up to 5 easy wins and 156 hard wins, it looks like I am more than half way done.

This is as crappy of a task as has ever been done on neopets, the most monotonous task with no strategy, no skill required.

    Exactly 300 on mighty.

As for skill, you only have fun when your pet is able to survive a few rounds. Needless to say, you must have a very good battlepet. My own pet is mid-range but has very good HT weapons so I can survive 3 rounds. Then the fun comes into trying to deal the most damage before losing.

Other than that, yes, it's very very monotonous.

  9. After you get the achievements is there any benefit of continuing to fight with the battle pet? Wouldn't it just decrease the win ratio?

I honestly hope they exclude the loss count for the Boss. I did not want to adopt a pet just to throw it into suicide missions....Plus, I need to use the actual battlepet to get damage.
