Just got Rank 1! I really want to get Rank 2 today!

I posed this question last year during AC VIII and i ask it again in AC IX,

What rank are you?

I want this to be kept up and every should post here every time they reach a new rank!

Right now i am a Beginner, but I am very close to Rank 1!

Can we wait until it starts again before being negative about brackets? I mean, seriously... it's possible they made some adjustments.

Yeah, I am just saying what is wrong with it before the AC this year, I am waiting to see if they changed anything, and then i will change the list.

I am just saying what was wrong with it from previous experiences and AC.

I'll never forget the day when, at last year's AC, I was happily chatting with other Haunties on the AC board (it was the first week of the cup) and someone came to me and said: "well, you don't really have reasons to be proud. I mean, you're still Rank 3, that's not very impressive."

 

I answered him, in the most polite of ways, that apart from Neopets, I have University and a job. You know, a life. :rolleyes_anim:

Not to be rude, but the bracket system is absolute trash. If you disagree with me I want to see your side, comment below. ^^/

Here are the reasons why the bracket system is trash:

-Once the brackets change and the teams are placed in 1st,2nd or 3rd, these solemnly change. If they do, its a slight change from 5th to 6th, and they are BARELY and i mean barely updated. During AC VII i believe, one of the brackets did not change at all from day one.

-The bracket system does not take into account the side games, or sometimes even Yooyuball. There are times when team #1 has 0 wins in SOSD while 5th has 5 wins, yet it is still in 5th. Also the first year TNT introduced the bracket system, there were teams lower in the brackets, but with more wins than the first place team.

-It does not let lower level tier teams to advance in anyway, resulting in a vicious cycle of getting low points. Take Faerieland for an example. FE has a large fan base, but little actually supporters so they end up at the bottom, only earning one point. Then they go into a new bracket, only receiving one point. And with no tournament such as DRR to help them actually move up, they automatically fall into last place.

-It forces some teams to verse each other two to three times, even four times, and sometimes not face another team at all. *GLARES AT AC VII*

-It does not reflect any actual sport. If the Altador Cup was modeled as Neopets's World Cup, then it would make a lot more sense to use DRR instead of the bracket system.

-It seems as it was just a last minute decision done by TNT, as if the weeks before the AC they created it, resulting in a disastrous AC VII.

I am an avid fan of the Altador Cup, since AC III, but the bracket system is ruining it for me, and i wish TNT would actually listen to its fan base and switch back over to DRR, to let small fan base teams (ie Brightvale and Kiko Lake), large teams with a small support (ie Faerieland) and large teams (ie Darigan Citadel and Haunted Woods) an even chance to win, and not letting the giant teams to just parade on the top 5 while the small support teams succumb to the bottom 15.

Gash... I always feel like trash when the AC begins. Then I end up succumbing to peer pressure and playing non-stop to try and improve my shield.

Does it usually start on a weekend? This is my first time really getting involved so I'm pretty new to the scene lol

 

I would just assume Monday to be an ideal starting date...as said previously, the staff will be around. I don't think the Monday start day is going to make any real difference.

AC VIII began on Friday, May 31st,

AC VII began on Friday June 1st,

AC VI began on Wednesday June 1st,

AC V began on Wednesday May 26th,

AV IV began on Tuesday June 9th,

AC III began on Thursday June 12th

AC II began on Friday June 1st

AC I began on Thursday June 1st

So this is the first time in the history of the AC starting on a Monday. It should have began today, as TNT seemed to be on a pretty good combo of getting it started on June 1st, with the few outliers being AC III, and AC V.

Why did TNT start AC IX on a Monday? Shouldn't it start on a Friday/Saturday/Sunday for more player to go on and play, instead of the AC basically being barren as the bulk (not all) are at school?

I want to hear your opinions on how TNT planned the starting date of Altador Cup. Do you like the date? Do you hate it? Comment below!

Am I the only one having trouble with The Daily Neopets' counter page? I usually like to pick a different counter each AC season but when I go to the page and try to log in, I get an error page. I'd at least like to reset my counter before the AC starts on Monday.

i'm not gonna lie i accidentally joined meridell after signing up at 6am and thinking I was joining Roo Island... woops

It's my first AC since aaaaaages ago (I can barely remember what happened let alone who I supported) and i know i'm going to be on holiday for most of it but it should be fun, and it's nice to see i'm not alone with this team :)

its every 4 levels, as there are four gems for every tier

the hierarchy of the tiers are: wood, stone, bronze, silver, gold

the 4 gems change every year, but the four colors are blue, green, red and yellow.

The longest I've every waited was 2 weeks, so it does take a while sadly.

First off, welcome to TDN Forums!

Now to answer your question, when did you get that score? Because usually when you get a high score in a game, TNT looks into it for almost a week or two. They want to be sure that it is a legit score and that no one cheats. The person who got 8880 must have just got that score much earlier than you did, so just be patient and TNT will get back to you as soon as possible. Plus TNT is quite busy at the moment with Altador Cup sign ups, so i would add atleast 3 more days to the maximum allowed time.

YEAHH MERIDELLL. GO FOR THE CUP THIS YEAR.

My Predictions are as followed:

1st: Meridell - A bit biased, but also many people predict this and so do I, Meridell for the cup!

2nd: Darigan Citadel - Same with Lost Desert and Krawk Island, Darigan Citadel has always placed in the top 10, and this year should be no different.

3rd: Krawk Island - Same with Lost Desert, as they are always a top tier team.

4th: Maraqua - Too many times getting in the top 10, but i just feel that this is not their year, but will still place fairly high.

5th: Terror Mountain - I pray for them, as i love their design, and i hope to see them place well.

6th: Lost Desert - Lost Desert is always a high tier team, so i predict them to do well.

7th: Tyrannia - Again with Altador, Kreludor and Kiko Lake, their all star team is fading, and so are they.

8th: Haunted Woods - Points for the new Draik, and hopefully they improve as they are really cool looking team.

9th: Kreludor - Suffers the same fate of Altador, now that their all star team slowly leaves, they will slump back to their irrelevant status.

10th: Mystery Island - Mystery Island is always a middle to middle-low tier team, so 10th is almost too generous.

11th: Roo Island - Same with Shenkuu, Roo Island used to be a top tier team but now, not so much

12th: Virtupets - “Maybe it’s because our lineup is 40% robots."

13th: Brightvale - Brightvale in its same old, same old position.

14th: Shenkuu - Oh Shenkuu, you used to be so good. What happened to you?

15th: Kiko Lake - Same with Altador, now that their all star team has left, they will slump back to their original location.

16th: Altador - Now that stealth left Altador, they will return to their original location, just above Faerieland, very close to last place.

17th: Faerieland - Even TNT has no hope for Faerieland, by their story.

18th: Moltora - There is no hope left for Moltora.

Signs ups begin in a little over an hours! Third year in a row joining Meridell!

I remember reading this shop in I think Haunted woods where you have to be at least 2 years to enter, and if you do enter there are like special pet eggs. I was wondering where is this shop and how do i get there?
