  1. I've just hit rank 9 and it occurs to me that whilst I've been playing hard, I certainly haven't been playing that hard in comparison with former years. I take it the number of games required have gone down in line with the gaming caps? Does this mean the prizes are easier to get or does it simply mean that you have to double All-Star in order to get the highest prizes?? As an aside, I tried to look this up online and instead found a forum where people are openly discussing using software to cheat and send scores for them. Whilst I knew this was possible theoretically, it's not something I've come across before. I mean, why bother playing if you're not going to actually put the effort in!? Surely it makes the trophy and the prizes pointless at best...
  2. Yep, I made just short of 1 million yesterday by using Garet and then tweaking his five arena bets to bolster my four arena's as I thought he was being a tad ambitious. My restraint paid off big time!!!
  3. You are likely being more productive than me. I'm just ignoring work unless something crops up that actually looks important. Oh, I'm not fussing about perfect scores! I send decent scores - I don't play to the minimum unless I'm doing Slushie Slinger which is my least favourite game of the lot and even then I aim for 400 before sending. Oh, I don't have any excuse. I'm just awful at getting the ball back! It doesn't help that using the keyboard the game switches characters on me and periodically decides it's going to flip to the keeper to boot. I wish it would just allow me to run around with one character and forget about the rest of them. The amount of times the character it's switched to hares off in the wrong direction because I'm looking at a different player would be funny if it wasn't pitiful. YYB is Darigan's bonus game as well. I'm 6 away from maxing it for today which will make three days in a row. Woot woot woot! I'm losing far more goals though which is annoying!
  4. Oh that's a good idea! Hadn't thought of that!!
  5. Hah, no I never played it on Windows. I think I'd find that far too frustrating!! Neo Pyramids is bad enough and at least I get a trophy for that!
  6. So, we're on Day 3 and everyone's fingers must be starting to ache with repetitive strain. So what's your pet peeve about the Altador Cup? Personally, mine is the character shifting during Yooyuball. It knocks me right off as even if a character is slightly further away from the ball, I'd far prefer to be able to stick with the one I'm controlling instead of sending a random character on the other side of the pitch hurtling off in the wrong direction!! Any others?
  7. So far so good. At level 6 with a handful of games to go until level 7 at the end of day 2. Not bad if I do say so myself. I've never hit All-Star before and so this is my chance! Particularly under lockdown conditions!! I don't chance YYB just in case I need to look something up in the meeting but SOSD is short enough that I can get away with it! I hadn't twigged that All-Star wouldn't win you the top prizes... I'll see how far I get then. If I reach All-Star with some time to go I might keep grinding the points in. I'm impressed at your GPG. My average (without a Darigan or Faerie) is 9-10, but those two balls throw me for a loop so my general average is likely closer to 7. My highest so far is 13 which I've only achieved once! In a way I'm glad they don't go towards prize points as it would end up lessening the points for games with lower averages and they take longer to play! I can see how it must be frustrating to someone better at the game than me mind you... I suppose your consolation prize is that you get extra time taken off the game and your team is more likely to win. I wish the cap was slightly higher - I can understand it being lowered to prevent cheating, but I could easily play 50-70 games I suspect rather than the 46. Just checked my average - 8.17 which is slightly higher than I had anticipated!!
  8. Thanks!! That's really useful to know! I did the opposite and played 49 odd games on the first day, not realising the cap was in effect!
  9. I normally follow Garet on Food Club, but something rung bells at me that he was letting greed take over common sense so I used his bets as my basis and shifted two of the ten bets so they were boosting the four arenas rather than including a fifth. Garet tanked at 0.10. I on the other hand... Dances! And done it two days in a row!! Slightly lower returns but still 7:1 when Boochi tanked.
  10. Anyone know how to switch your neopets on it? I've found the pet page and thought the button below would do it but it's not playing.
  11. I got the numbers wrong on my counter initially putting in 192 YYB games instead of 92, so I changed it. It's still showing the initial number however, I have even deleted the orginal code and replaced it with the updated one, even though the page says that isn't necessary, but it won't seem to update to the correct numbers. Any clues?
  12. I admit, I'm just pretending to work and instead playing countless games of YYB and using any meetings as a chance to shoot endless penalties. So far this approach has got me to Level 6!
  13. Yep, unless it's just got missed in the chaos of things. Still strange though as you'd think it would have been picked up in 2019.
  14. Personally, I'm aiming to max out Yooyuball daily - might have to cover for weekends as my husband likely won't understand me playing the same game for hours on end to no obvious purpose! - and then clear at least 200 games in SOSD, potentially max it a couple of days. I dislike SS and SOSD so just tend to play for np early on, but if I max the two other games, I might find myself ramping up extra points that way. Aiming for All Star this year as it's the first year I've played in a while and I doubt I'll have the bonus of working from home with minimal workload in years to come!
  15. You can tell I'm out of the loop. I'm sure the last time I played, the cap on Yooyuball was in the hundreds whereas this year it has capped me at 46...!! Looking back at threads here it seems to have been changed in 2016(!) and I assume it's stayed the same since: Yooyuball: 46 wins Slushie Slinger: 86 games Make Some Noise/Shootout Showdown: 401 games Does anyone know the minumum scores? Just in case I end up playing SS or MSN which I really dislike and don't want to play past the minimum once it stops earning np!
  16. Whoot for Darigan! Let the games begin and may the odds be ever in your favour... oh, wrong pop reference. For someone supporting Darigan I sure do hate those Darigan Yooyu's... to the degree that I wander off and let the game continue without me whilst shooting some Showdown penalties until the other team either scores or own goals it. It's about 70:30 to own goals at the moment! Strangely I also just got a 2018 avatar apparently...
  17. You can make a decent start without spending too much money... it's finishing it that's expensive!!
  18. Yep, I kept doing 'one more game' and then looking up seven games later! I'm still at two wins but over a hundred games now...
  19. Oh, by the end I'll be gritting my teeth and swearing fluently, but this is one of the few years where I'm going to have the chance to make it to all-star as I'm working from home with a minimal workload at best, nill at worst! Plus it's the first time I've been active for several years so I'm taking the chance and running with it. Normally between a four hour daily commute and a full working day, I'd be lucky to make it to silver I suspect!! Yesterday was just one of those days I think - between communication mishaps at work (proving your point really!), no Altador Cup and Sakmat Solitaire really bugging me, I was not having a good day!
  20. Point taken. I was in a particularly grouchy mood yesterday, so I apologise!! It's up and running now though so I'm satisfied.
  21. So essentially they screwed up... and are trying to cover it now... why does this not surprise me...
  22. Welcome back to Neopets and welcome to the forums! I've done something similar - used to be a really active player many moons ago and have come back on lockdown. You're just in time for the Altador Cup as well! Most of my goals are currently pet related - so paintbrushes and training. I was into stamp collecting at one point, but I think I'll build my bank balance up before going back into that rather expensive hobby again! I have a Jetsam I can lend if you are in need of the Jetsam - Chomp! avatar.
  23. I read the news to be that the cup was starting today, but having refreshed repeatedly all day there is no movement on the cup front... does it normally start mid day neopian time or should it have been midnight NST?
  24. Yes, that caught me out when I first tried - and I wasn't following someone else's bets!! The potential returns go up exponentially but the risk is obviously greater. From what I can gather Garet is usually a conservative better - and warns you when he's going left field randomly - so he tends to straddle bets across three venues. It helps that I've got an older account so I can put in a maximum of 12300 odd neopoints per bet currently - and I'd been saving for a little while, albeit far more slowly, so I had the initial capital to plough into it. But my average return seems to be just over double, with four days of complete loss and several days of 1.2-1.5 in there as well. I think there have then been two days where I've had a return of over 400,000 on a total 123,000np bet, so it's worthwhile overall!
  25. Yess! I mean just by the law of averages and sheer chance the cards that come out the deck should be more favourable than they actually are!!
