The confederacy's bicameral legislative governing model with a veto-empowered executive head, as well as its symbol of the eagle and bound arrows, were later adopted by the white colonies that would form the United States of America--and though the masculine role of governance survived being co-opted by the colonizers, many forget the integral governing role that women held, especially the clan mothers. I've recreated Jigonhsasee here, with a royalgirl lupe (since she would absolutely be considered royalty, and wolves are typically matriarchal pack animals) wearing traditional beadwork, one of the oldest surviving art forms of the First Nations. (Unfortunately I wasn't able to recreate the white-and-purple wampum of the Haudenosaunee flag...) At her feet are two out of three of the symbols of the confederacy: a pinecone to represent the pine tree (whose needles grow in groups of five), and arrows to represent the five bundled arrows of the five tribes.
