LOL It's ok, I've been there where you think, or dream, that you've replied to someone but actually hadn't. I'm so very glad that you're having so much more success now! Sounds like you're doing great! I'm glad you're having so much fun! That's something I loved when my pet was still in the intermediate training ranges too! Trying to tackle stronger opponents and trying to find different ways with different types of equipment to win! While I still have fun battling, SOME of that thrill isn't there because my pet has so much HP (just at 5,055 as of tonight). Still, there are opponents I haven't beaten yet on stronger difficulty levels. But some of those are so overwhelming that it's not much fun even trying. Like Snowager on Medium or Mighty. lol Between 15,000-32,000hp if memory serves me correctly, depending on which of those two difficulties I would choose. He's only got about 750 on Weak though, so that's doable. Anyway, sorry for getting onto that tangent. It's also fun for me to help newer battlers like you with sets and opponents. Hearing that you're having so much FUN with battling now brings back that old thrill for me. Just glad I could help someone else experience the fun that the BD has to offer. Muffins are ok, but they're only 1-use, so you'd want to use something like, Water Muffins or Brain Muffins, something with 15 icons. But really, your combo of Varia is the Bomb and Turned Tooth should do more damage on average than using muffins. If you're having trouble defeating an opponent, there are the 50% reflectors, most of them are fragile and will permanently break after a couple of uses. But, they can be helpful if your opponent uses a weapon that uses as TON of a specific icon type. Like against Commander Garoo, I used a Shovel Plus and hoped that it would not break before reflecting the Earth from his Brown Clockwork Grundo back at him. That is one of the cheap, but easily broken 50% reflectors. I can list the others if you'd like? Also, if you're having trouble taking too much damage, you might consider filling your empty slots with an item known as a Thick Smoke Bomb. You can buy these from the Secret Ninja Training School, but plenty of users buy and sell them in their user shops. Right now they are between 9,000-10,000 each in the user shops. A Thick Smoke Bomb will block ALL damage once time. It's like having a single-use version of Thyoras Tear. Which blocks all damage once per battle. You can only have 1 Tear equipped at a time I believe, but you can fill all your empty slots with Thick Smoke Bombs. Hmm, for posting a screenshot, you should JUST have to press Print Screen on your keyboard, and then paste it into the body of the message. Anyway, if you have any more questions, feel free to stop by again and ask.

Okay. I'm late on the uptake because I meant to comment on this but apparently I did so in my head and not on the actual forum lol. Whoopsie. I wanted to say thank you so much for all your suggestions both for the equipment but also in ways to use it. I honestly never would have thought to pair up using Varia is the bomb and Turned tooth with that first attack along with lens flare to take down an opponent by a lot of hit points and rather quickly. Changing up my battle tactics and changing out my equipment along with more consistent training has allowed me to tackle much higher hit point opponents than I would have previously and be able to most likely defeat them. That has been super fun. I'm more willing to experiment now with who I fight instead of limiting myself so much. I never did figure out what I'm doing right now with the last two slots for equipment. I did end up slapping an Altadorian Swordbreaker in one of em and I've used it a couple times. I thought about leaving them open to equip with the massive amounts of muffins and one time use items that are in my SDB or with specific items that would help me fight a certain opponent like have something on hand that will ward off dark, light, or whatever they are using and just swap those items out depending on what fights I am going into. Other than that I usually find that everything in the equipment that I already have (even without using anything from those two slots) works pretty well. I just wanted to say thank you again for your time and expertise on the topic because it has definitely ramped up my battledome ability by a lot and it has increased my interest in playing battledome as well. I think I just need to probably scan your list and find more defensive items for those last couple of slots if I'm honest. I tried to do the print screen thing and attach an image but I am not as tech savvy as I once was apparently since I was unable to manage it.- 173 replies

I cannot BELIEVE what I just read...

Honestly, I didn't know about the word until the Neoboards lit up. Though they only implied the word, for fear of repercussions if they typed the word. But yeah, saying "let me get a charcoal rubbing of this" would've been a better way to go. Then again, and not to start a debate here, but when I returned to the neoboards when the plot began, after literally a DECADE away from just the neoboards. I was SHOCKED to find all these sexual identity declarations in signatures and such. Sorry, but that doesn't constitute "family friendly" imho either. So I guess I can't be terribly surprised by their poor choice of words for the comic nor the book. Even a decade ago, to HINT at something sexual on the neoboards would've gotten you silenced or banned. I dunno when things changed, but man, crazy what can happen in 10 short years. -

Neopets likes to call itself a family friendly site. We can't type cucumber into the neoboards because the sexual term cum is in it, despite neopets having 23 cucumber items. The plot just used the term FROTTAGE RUBBING. I cannot be the only player who looked at that and said what the heck, since the common way of using frottage is not a CHARCOAL or PENCIL rubbing of something, but rubbing in a sexual situation. Am I the only one rather bewildered by that? Especially given that the book you earn in the chapter is called frottage finesse?
