010_pipsy_010
I just wondered if anyone has any advice to complete Neoquest 1 on Insane mode? I've tried a few different combinations of skills at the start and have died a fair few times near the start! For the other 2 levels I spent 2 points on all the Shock skills and divided the rest going through the game between Spectral and Life skills. Does the Shockwave make much of a difference in the long run (I know it can do extra damage, but can you win the game without it?). I always choose the Life Weapon from the start. How did you guys win the game on Insane mode?
Ruto
Shockwave is always good to have even one skill point in, since it not only has a chance to do extra damage, but can briefly stun your enemy. I think your skill strategy will be fine starting the game. The most important thing to do in insane mode is overtrain, overtrain, overtrain. Even if you think you're a high-enough level, raise it one more. You can never be too sure, and that preparedness will pay off when you go to face the next boss. Patience is a MUST with this mode. Don't rush ahead to get farther in the game, or you might die and regret it big time. And always go for the life weapons, since the ones later in the game can heal you randomly or on command. Wishing you best of luck! Lamppost
jellysundae
Kudos to you for trying insane mode at all, I'm pretty sure I (eventually) completed it on the normal mode, but I know I gave up at Faerieland for a rather long time <.< >.> 010_pipsy_010

Wishing you best of luck! thank you. It took me a few weeks to complete it on the other two levels. Patience is definitely not my strong point lol. Hopefully I will be patient enought to complete this level, eventually. Any advice on whether Energy or Magical defence is better or do you think it depends on each individual item and its effects? Ruto
I always went with Energy defenses since they can reflect damage back to the attacker, and because monsters have insane amounts of HP at this level, extra damage is always super helpful. Your life weapons and healing potions should be enough to keep you from the brink of death.

I have just reached level 10 and am planning to enter the Dank Cave about level 12 (assuming I don't die in the meantime, again!) Wish me luck :) Ruto
Aquamentis12
Oh man, I haven't played in SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO long! I know I eventually beat NQ1 on Normal. Haven't started it on Evil yet. I searched the net, and there are 2 sites I used for playing NQ1 so many years ago are still up. The first... http://footballman.comicgenesis.com/nqmaps/walkthrough.html The 2nd has a TON of info for both NQ games. http://idnq.net/ I hope these help! I use these two guides at the moment. They have been really useful for Normal and Evil modes. 1. http://www.neopets.com/~_kapelo_ - guide 2. http://www.neopets.com/~ladygisma- maps
jellysundae
That second link's the one I used when I did Neoquest, I liked that one. :) 010_pipsy_010
Jaavje
I just finished the game on evil mode, so I'm also going to start it again on Insane mode soon. Seems like I'll need a lot of patience though, and here I thought the evil mode took a long time...
