Novelista
My pets are customized, no one wants to do DTI trading (or at least not that I've looked real hard, now that I've gotten my top three), I have my avs under control for the moment, I'm stuck at 245 for the top gamer av (AUGH!)...so what should I do for a new project? I thought about investing in a neohome once, but I got started and most of the stuff I liked wasn't even "wearable". :P | To me, a neohome isn't quite the same as investing in training/customizing your pet. I don't look at everyone else's neohomes (if they have one)...I look at their pets! (And their trophies, site victories, etc.)
Bright ^_^
You could start a gallery. Collecting things that are interesting to you. Coming up with a unique category or idea is fun and then making a list of all the things that will fit with that theme and then going about getting those items. Xepha
Collect stamps. I know a lot of people enjoy it on Neopets. :) It's relatively easy to start too. Mouseykins
Angeló
a gallery would be a good idea ..... or a new game trophy ......
fullonparanoid
I LOVE my Galleries. I have a Sand Gallery on my main and a 'stuff I like' Gallery on one of my sides (furiousbandersnatch). I won Gallery Spotlight with my Sand Gallery and my Side Gallery has nearly 20 sub-categories in it. :D There are always items to hunt down and save for...and new items get added all the time (I just recently got to add the two new Mynci Bottles of Sand). There are a slew of neat things to collect..poke around and see what strikes your fancy. Once you have picked a category, start building your collection and work towards entering the Gallery Spotlight Contest. Good luck! :P
Novelista
Ordinarily, I would jump on the gallery idea (I've done a medicine gallery a ton of times before), but I think I might lean toward Xepha's suggestion. After all, you manage to complete a page and you get an av. :D (I've never been much of a philatelist, but that can always change!) Thanks for the suggestions! Keep 'em coming...never know when someone might suggest something completely different!
Zephyr
Or maybe work or revamp your lookup & your pets' lookup? Perhaps plan and develop your pets' story or character further and maybe along the way have a few new looks for them and you'll be back to trading in no time xD That's what I do for my lenny: I put her in different places and hence the different outfits. Even when she's relaxing at home, she'll have a change of outfits once in a while. When I'm uber satisfied with a look & feel like there's nothing to add to it & am out of inspirations, I'll leave her at my side for the time being and maybe create a new pet with a totally fresh idea (more playing at DTI :D) or pound surf to see if there is anything interesting :)
Novelista
Oh, Zeph...too soon to touch my lookie. It was redone in January. :( | I'm thinking about changing out the photo, though. I should've done it last week, with the opening of Son of God, since the "king" on there is the actor who plays Pilate doing Shakespeare. :D I've never gotten into the "pets as a storyline" thing, which is really strange, considering I'm a novelist. O.o
emily_speck_15
Maybe work on saving up? That way if you do decide to do a gallery, you will have the necessary funds. Also, what does DTI mean?
Novelista
Dress to Impress, the most wonderful, fantastic NC-trading method out there. (If you can get people to work with you, that is.) Saving up is a little difficult, though...I've already started filling my stamp album. ;) (Don't know why I didn't think of collecting cards, like I've done before. Those you can actually remove from your album. Which is dangerous, because that's a liquid asset right there...)
etelibre
What about contests? I keep thinking about doing the random contest. Or, play games on the boards =] You don't have the same kind of long-term physical output from chatting on the boards, but you can make some great friends! I used to spend HOURS doing things like avi simon says, haha
Novelista
I feel honored that your first post is to me. ^_^ I entered the poetry contest, but I was rejected. I couldn't believe it, because people like my poetry so well. :( | (I mean, you can rent my poetry book as a textbook, for the sake of Coltzan! But maybe that wasn't my best work.) etelibre
Or things like making levels for hannah and the pirate caves (I think?), or writing a guide for something you're really good at, or restocking, of course,Or the other trophies like better than you and the Times (if you haven't already)Aww, don't get discouraged! It's not always about 'good' or 'bad' poetry (which, there's really no such thing), sometimes it just doesn't fit in that issue, or they had a ton of entries, or maybe whoever made that decision just didn't connect with it, which is something you can't control. Novelista
Just unlocked my Kreludor cave to the public last week. (You can play it, if you want...it's not overly complicated 'cause I have to be able to beat it for myself. :laughingsmiley:) I don't know if I'm particularly good at anything...enough for a guide. I think I've lost money in restocking in the past...I don't do it anymore. :P I have BtY in silver. I've never been able to go faster than that. NT is an idea, but it took me long enough to come up with a good poem. :P x2 Oh, I'm not going to waste my time coming up with Neopian poetry. (Thanks anyway.) I'd rather spend my time working on my novels. :medieval:
paperdoll66
This is the stuff I mix in occasionally if I am bored: -Zapping pets for adoption: I go to the Lost and Pound to find a pet to zap. Sometimes I pick a pet who will probably never be adopted because of their name. Sometimes I try zapping for someone's dream pet. -Neoquest/Neoquest II: I don't even like these kinds of games, but I still thought Neoquest II was kind of fun towards the end. You get avatars and a trophy. -Trophies: Maybe check one of those lists of easy trophies for ones you don't have yet. The last time I didn't have any goals, I did Go!Go!Go! and Snow Wars! -If you want to try it after it starts working again, you could start collecting Defenders of Neopia challengers. There is lots of stuff that I thought about doing, but I haven't really gotten into yet: The Kadoatery, Food Club, Plushie Tycoon, and Stock Market. Novelista
Some of your list, I've tried with varying degrees of success over the years. I'd like to do Defenders of Neopia again, but I'm wondering how much longer the BD will take to get out of beta.
