Worth it?

I have read all of TDN articles about the Haunted Fairground games but I want to know peoples opinion of them. Do you think they are worth the NP you spend? Do they ever pay out? Im reffering to the wheel of misfortune, coconut shy, bagatelle, test your strength and the cork gun gallery? Also sort of unrelated but I also wonder about the berry pick your own.

I myself don't play them because it felt like a bad deal, just went for the avatars on the ones that have one, never played them again after I had it. I never really calculated anything so I'm not sure if my feeling is right or not.

I did the same thing as Duma. It just doesn't seem like a fair deal with the losses and diseases that you're risking. I'm still playing Coconut Shy for the avatar, but I'm not having much luck. Pick Your Own is a little more up in the air to me. You can potentially get some pretty nifty berries, even though the likelihood of that is about nil from what I've seen. You usually come away with things worth far less than the np you paid to do it.

I have gotten good items from Coconut Shy (rare coconuts + avatar) and from Test Your Strength (Snorkle Snout)... so they are not totally worthless. In fact, I kinda enjoy playing Test Your Strength even though most of the time you lost NP.

Coconut Shy in my opinion is worth it. (I am starting to collect things and the coconuts are expensive - around 100-125k usually on trading post.) I've gotten 4 in the past month. There is a guide on TDN that seems to work pretty well, although I don't put my pointer on the "a" in start. There is a little circle in the middle of the start box that I go by. I received the avatar the very first time I knocked over a coconut.

The others I don't ever play, don't know much about them. I only did pick your own for the avatar.

Of that you listed, I only play two daily, Coconut Shy and Test Your Strength. I think they're worth it.

Test Your Strength costs 100 NP every 6 hours. So if you do it 4 times a day, somehow, if you lost EVERYTHING you put in, you'd only lose 400 NP. I frequently win around 200 NP, but not even counting that, risking 400 NP a day for the chance to win more NP or expensive items, is worth it.

With Coconut Shy, if you miss every single one, you lose 2000 NP. You have the chance to win 10k NP and a coconut which generally sells for around 90-100k. To me, I generally only lose about 500-1000 NP a day on it, if I don't knock one down, so it's not that much, and it's worth the chance of winning roughly 100k with the sale of a coconut.

I've won some ice cream lanterns from TYS, and they sell for ~10k. (I've won a snorkle snout once in all my years of playing it, and used it for the avatar). As Spritzie said, it hardly costs anything, and there isn't much risk of negative side effects. I think the net result is positive, though I've never tracked it.

I know Coconut Shy is supposed to be better now; I've won a couple of coconuts from it, but it's too time-consuming for me to make it a daily. Plus coconuts are gallery items for me, and since it costs over 12k/space in my gallery right now, they're actually costly for me to win!

I spun the wheel forever to get the avatar and although I didn't track it, I'd say it's near the top of the list for "not worth it" (unless you want the avatar). Like others, I don't mind Test Your Strength and Coconut Shy - the potential prizes are worth it for a relatively low investment.
