these things happen just play some games and you will soon be back where you were :)

same as when you zapped your pet and then you asked for someone to give you a paintbrush, its not too bad on neopets because if you make a mistake you can just solve it yourself by earning points playing all the games that are on offer

good luck

Thats an excellent point! its best not to keep large amounts of neopoints on hand anyway because you can also get hit by things like ??? I think they call it pumpkin tax or something like that but I know they take a chunk of your on hand neopoints so keep it in the bank for safe keeping then you wont have any more accidents

Don't forget about the ghosts and the Pant Devil. I only keep three omelettes in my Inventory (in case the Pant Devil is hungry :icecream: ) and never more than 20,000 NP on hand. Everything else stays in the SDB and the Bank. :)

AJ11 is right. Do your dailies and play a few games and you'll be back to where you were again before you know it. Best of luck!

Sure, here it is!

Also, it seems like maybe you're a bit new to Neopets and reading some of the guides The Daily Neopets has could help you to get the lay of the land.

There's a list of guides here and a header with the title "New to Neopets"

http://thedailyneopets.com/articles/index/

I highly recommend reading the article titled "Protect Yourself from Scams" found here: http://thedailyneopets.com/articles/neopets-scams/

I know we all want the avatar, but I feel like the WoE is not worth the waste of 100k. It's why I don't bother...you're more likely to get nothing from it. If it's hard to avoid the wanting to risk, and if you're saving up for something, do what these others have suggested and keep the majority of your NP in the bank, and avoid having 100k or more on hand. Play Habitraium, KQ, fight in the Battledome, sell good prizes you win, and try the Stock Market. It may seem like a waste of 15k (or 10k with the Stock Market boon), but you'll eventually make a good amount of NP in the long run from it. Just be patient.

Idunno. I've made like a 5+ mil profit from that wheel in the past. One of our staffers got a battledome item that was like 20 mil or something (maybe I got the amount wrong, but I think it sold for a hefty price).

Sometimes the risk is worth the reward.

Of course it's less of a blow to your bank account if you have plenty of neopoints to spare.

I spun the Wheel a few times when it first came out (when its prizes were worth more, and before the new BD, when codestones were more expensive, and I was training with 8-12 regulars/day). I calculated that I could just about break even just from the training boosts, but I suspect you'd have to be training with several reds before the training would make you break even now. I stopped after I got the avatar, because it just wasn't worth the risk to me. Maybe if I had 100M NP, so that I was only spending 0.1% of my NP per day... but it still feels like a lot.

I've been collecting stats on the other wheels' profitability (excluding Misfortune), and they're all at least moderately profitable. Maybe when* I hit that 100M mark, I'll collect data on WoExtra.

*The probability of this event occurring is far less than the probability of me winning 1M NP or a King's Lens from Coltzan's Shrine.

I'm testing it right now, actually, and keeping a spreadsheet of the results I get. Out of 2 spins so far I've won a Grey Paint Brush and 50k (so, I lost half of what I spent to spin).

I specifically saved up 5m just to spend on the WoE and Kelp, pursuing those avatars, so I know it won't be devastating to me if I win nothing some nights - I have a cushion to work with. It's worth the risk for the avatar and cool prizes like that PB, which is worth 2.9m on the TP but I wound up selling to a friend for 1.75. :3

Interesting that people have been collecting stats on the wheels, can someone give me some advice on a general idea of cost of getting the wheel avatars... obviously I do realise it is random Im just trying to get a rough idea of costs versus wins etc

I've recorded 711 spins on WoMed; it averages ~453 NP net in prizes per spin. WoExcite only has 194 spins (spreadsheet error made me have to start over on this one, so it's not very precise); its average is ~283 NP net per spin. WoK only has 155 spins, since I can usually only spin it once per day (unless boons); average = ~63 NP/spin net. WoMon only has 59 spins because I keep forgetting to actually spin it; average is ~151 NP per spin.

The WoMed average is fairly good at this point (a total loss decreases the average by less than 1NP, and a "big" win of 4k only increases it by 5 NP). WoE is less good (total loss decreases the average by 5NP; winning the jackpot would increase it by over 100NP per spin), and WoK and WoMon are obviously much worse since they have more variability in prize value and fewer spins. (Note: I SW the prize's value on the day I win it; I don't count healings, intelligence changes, diseases, damage, Hagan's wisdom, etc. as worth anything. I do count a lottery ticket as 100 NP, the cost of the ticket, even though you can't actually resell it, because I figure lottery winnings are independent of the WoMon.)

tl;dr: WoMed, WoE, WoK, and WoMon are all profitable in the long-term, so spinning for the avatars on these wheels shouldn't really cost you anything. I try to spin them as often as I remember to/can.

I'll make a post about it once I've done more testing! I only started 2 days ago; hopefully it winds up being profitable in the long run! :3

Interesting that people have been collecting stats on the wheels,

Got 5 defence from the WoE today for example. This would normally costs aprox. 88k for my pet. So thats ok, especially because it did not take training time.
