okkusu
I saw a few threads on Reddit as well, but all of the links lead to a dead host. You're probably right about not being allowed to discuss it on the boards. Any ideas if there is something similar out there? The data on how often stocks run from 15 – 50 was useful for placing positions.

okkusu
I would second jellysundae's advice, and generally sell anywhere above 50 myself. You can use this link to quickly filter out the cheap picks. Some stocks perform better than others, but you'll still probably do pretty well buying 1,000 shares at 15 every day and selling high even if you have to wait a few months. mysteryfuzz
I use the bargain stocks list (http://www.neopets.com/stockmarket.phtml?type=list&bargain=true) and I normally choose the company with the highest volume selling over 15 np (since you can't buy below 15 np) and buy my 1000 shares daily. Now that I have shares of 30+ companies I usually look at the stocks I have and buy 1000 more shares of something I have that's between 15-20 np. I hang onto my shares until they hit +300%. I'm always tempted to sell lower but I prefer to stick to my 300% rule. Everything goes up eventually! Right now my portfolio is trash but I'm hoping it turns around someday soon haha. Good luck investing! jellysundae, okkusu and Jena92
kayahtik
24 minutes ago, mysteryfuzz said: Right now my portfolio is trash #storyofmylife I pretty much concur with what everyone else said. I'll buy anything that's 15np, I don't care which stock it is. I WILL NOT buy anything that cost more than that, even if it means I don't buy any stocks at all that day. I hoard them until they reach my selling point, which these days is 75. Under @jellysundae's tutelage, I have learned (somewhat) how to sit on my hands when I find myself with a case of itchy sell finger. balloongal247
I buy whatever is at 15np a share that I have the fewest shares of. Back in the old days when I didn't have pretty much all the stocks in my portfolio, I'd sometimes buy 500 shares each of two stocks that were at 15np that I either didn't have either, or had equally few of both. If you do the skirmish battles and get--oh, good, my team didn't win so I didn't miss getting my boon before getting my bank interest--the stock market boon, you can buy at 10np a share, and if you have that, you should buy at 10np a share, instead of 15. I would never sell below 50np a share. These days I usually wait until about 75, but that's because I don't really care whether I sell or not, I'm not needing the np liquidated. jellysundae

That bargain stocks page will sit open all day while I wait for a refresh to present me with some at 15 *stubborn* Jena it's totally confusing at first, I know! But you will get the hang of it, have you not bought at all yet then? My first purchase was 100 of HELT, I only bought 100 because I was scared, lol. That uneven amount in my portfolio annoyed me to no end for ages after that, because HELT did super badly for forever after my purchase and didn't even get back up to a value where I could buy more D: Now I always buy the full 1k every day, and HELT finally rose in value enough to net me a good profit, about 18 months later, lol. It's definitely a slow burn thing this stock market lark, but it's fun! I'll not start in with stuff about Obelisk boons, learning about buying stocks is confusing enough without bringing that into the mix right now. I'm basically talking about confusing myself trying to explain, before we even get to confusing the new player trying to understand what I'm waffling on about. xD EDIT: I feel I should clarify at this point that my "tutelage" of @kayahtik is basically entirely comprised of my yelling at her not to sell. kayahtik
