Zombie making drugs?!

I just heard a story that amazed and horrified me. Apparently, a new drug has been invented that is a thousand times worse than cocaine. In Miami, Florida, there have been 4 terrifying incidences of people being high on the drug and running around doing insane things. One man had to be killed because he was found eating another living man's face and he would not stop, even when the police shot him in the shoulder. Another person ran around in traffic, while naked, and was hit by a taxi. After being hit, most people would be down for the count, but this person got right back up and started attacking anyone around them. Another incident involved a man cutting out his own intestines in front of the police and throwing them at them. It sounds unbelievable. It sounds like the beginning of a zombie movie, only this time, it's actually happening. I'm really worried and freaked out now. What if this drug gets in the wrong hands and spreads? What if it actually causes a zombie apocalypse like what we imagine and daydream about? These "zombies" wouldn't be the humorously slow and decaying creatures we're used to. They'd be fast, they'd be strong, from what I've heard, they're pretty impervious to pain, and they'd still be living, breathing, human beings. I don't know about you, but that is enough for nightmares for me. I'm thinking about going to stock up on guns and ammo and perhaps move to Canada way sooner than I was expecting.

She isn't.

It's creepy, but I'm not paranoid about it. Something like that is almost certainly going to be illegal in the United States.

If this gets into the wrong hands and spreads, we'd expect a whole world taken over by zombified humans (very slowly however before it takes over all of Earth).

Um, wow, that is really creepy and scary. I kinda hope you're joking.

Unfortunately, MidnightSky is not joking about this. As creepy and scary as it is, this is for real.

Quick correction. 3 incidents were in Florida, 1 was in New Jersey. Ugh. The world is quite a terrifying place. Thanks for the links, though I kinda wish I was joking, too.

There are plenty of other things that are illegal in the U.S, but people still somehow get a hold of them and distribute them. When it comes to this drug getting around, it'll probably go through the same cartels and dealers that sell marijuana and crystal meth. I just hope that people will be smart enough to not take it. Or perhaps the government will get involved and destroy it or something.

Even if zombies start infesting cities and taking over, I've been ready for a LONG LONG time for zombie apocalypses.

The drug (called bath salt) isn't that new, but the people could have bought from the same batch that had something in it causing them to go into a "cocaine psychosis" so to speak.

The only good to come out of all the chaos is it shows people why not to do drugs.

And the man who stabbed himself in the leg, stomach, and neck who threw pieces of his skin and intestines at the cops was in New Jersey. They had pepper sprayed him, but it did not effect him, so they called in the SWAT team. They have yet to say if he had taken any drugs or is just mentally insane/unstable.

I had heard about the first case, the one man eating the face of the other, but not of the subsequent cases. Those poor people, what a horrific thing to have to go through. I can only imagine what kind of horrible hallucinations they were having. :(

I don't think that we need to worry about any kind of drug induced zombie apocalypse. As it is a drug, it will wear off in a certain amount of time, and it's not like it can be passed from person to person through attacks. It's horrific, but not the end of the world.

“If you take the worst attributes of meth, coke, PCP, LSD and Ecstasy and put them together, that’s what we’re seeing sometimes,” Mark Ryan, the director of the Louisiana Poison Center, told the New York Times

Users experience a mix of physical and psychological symptoms. The stimulant can cause excited delirium and severe hallucinations. Users can become violent and suicidal. People often experience a super-human strength, and long-lasting euphoria or paranoia, reports say.

Sniped that from an article I had read about the drug.

Little side note...

I'm sure the person eating the man's face would have been traumatized knowing what he did/ingested, so maybe it's better that he was killed.

but it wont be an apocalypse thing.

And if it would be an zombie-apocalypse......i would not be ready!

That means i need to train more with my sword (only wooden Dx)

But yeah,it wont last very long.

In some years that zombeh drug will be unknown (probably, again?).

hi , this is quite scary and creepy, but this thing also has another version. Bokors (the people who summon zombies actually do it and have been doing it for a very long time indeed. ( they do it by almost killing someone and revive them they use a specialized pufferfish poison.the drug must contain some powerful neurotoxin that scrambles the senses and turns the person wild and senseless. but thinking about it in some of the cases you would need an extremely huge concentrated overdose, as in these rainforest 5-10 years ago a plant zombified ant and hummingbirds. only if a huge leakage of poison enters our our food supply, i think we are safe currently .

:skull: :sad02: aaaahhh, (its not just you, these things give me the creeps too)

As a Zombie enthusiast I found this story to be both funny and scary. When I saw the story I didn't pay any mind. That is until everyone started saying zombie in a hushed tone.

I tuned in to see what everyone was saying and sure enough there was talk about zombies attacking. My friend even packed a bag she may need for survival purposes and put it in her room just in case she needed it in the middle of the night. (Again.. we are Zombie enthusiasts. We prepare for these things)...

I was pretty tweeked out over the whole deal until someone talked me into believing it was all drugs.

I don't know man... I don't know. It's 2012.... And drugs... isn't that how it started in Racoon City??

Oh, I saw this on the UK dailymail site! I didn't read the actual article though.

Anyway, that's really creepy, and gross! WHY do people take drugs?! Seriously?!

Definitely one of the more creepy drug side effects going...unfortunately you'll always have some lunatic willing to take it.

It won't cause a zombie style apocalypse as you have to be in a certain set of people who qualify as stupid by dint of taking it to even consider taking it. And although that probably includes more of the population than we're happy with I'd like to believe it's not all!

I dread if this kind of incident happens in the UK...at least in the US your cops could shoot the guy eating the mans face...probably one of the few occasions I am going to agree with armed cops!

Read about more incidents of users of Cloud 9 going on rampages in the US today, and at first I thought it was media hype, but I'm genuinely worried for people in countries where this drug is available because the attacks are all so savage.

The only reason why I'm glad I live in a hole of a country.

I know it would take a lot of other things to actually start the zombie apocalypse. For instance, someone pointed out that this wouldn't spread from person to person like real zombies. Only people that actually take the drug would be affected. Plus the fact that after a few days, the people snap out of it. But imagine some evil drug cartel giving this stuff to people who don't know what it is and created a few dozen drugged up human zombies. That'd still be extremely creepy and they'd probably be able to cause quite a bit of havoc in 2-3 days. Anywho, the likelihood of that happening is slim to none, but the idea is still scary.

There was another article about this on dailymail UK today..

Lol, the Daily Fail. These drugs are definitely not available over the counter- where the hell did they get that information from? Ingredients used in them may be available over the counter, but that's true of many drugs.

Pretty terrible journalism comes from them on a regular basis.

The Miami Cannibal...

I live in Miami.

I am so scared right now.

What if I get eaten? :sad02: :sad02: :sad02:

*hug* Start walking around with pepper spray and stay away from people who are running around growling and naked. (i think so far, all of the people were naked)

I heard about all of those stories and it's kind of rattled me up. I've never believed something like zombies would ever happen because really..the dead rising again? That's nonsense to me so I've never been much of the 'zombie' sort of fan or anything. I do however believe that certain drugs can cause people to simply go crazy- but these people having zombie like behavior? Yeah, that scared me when I first heard about it. It doesn't surprise me that drugs were behind a persons loss of sanity but I was surprised that it turned a man cannibal with insanity. What scared me most about the news was that they were nearly unstoppable. Sure he was stopped in the end, but that was only by the time he was finally put down, and by then the other man had already taken so much trauma and damage

Did the he (the victim) make it by the way? I never found out about that.
