flyingeevee Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 Just started to watch Doctor Who since everyone has been telling me to go watch it. I'm starting from the veryyyyyy beginning so I'm not that far yet :P Quote
jumpingbeans Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 YEAH! A FELLOW WHOVIAN! What episode are you at? Hint for my name: Try focusing on the first and last letters. They may help you. Quote
flyingeevee Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 Started from the 60's Doctor Who all in black and white :) I was on episode 8: The Ambush with the Daleks before I had to stop watching for school purposes xD Quote
jumpingbeans Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 Oh, wow, you started back there. I thought you'd be starting in the new series...ah well, you've got plenty of time before Series Seven starts... Quote
moni_rawr Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 With a little bit of snooping around, the only thing I found with JV was Joint Venture lol. Quote
jumpingbeans Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 Look at them separately, but together as one. Yeah, that makes no sense. I'm no good at writing clues. "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it." George Santayana. Only add a not in there. Quote
khaos Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 those who cannot remember the past are not condemned to repeat it? I looked up doctor who j and found Jenny as the first. and then i looked up that with a v instead and found voyage of the damned. so im guessing it's something to do with that. Quote
jumpingbeans Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 ...No, it has nothing to do with Doctor Who. It's more personal than that. Quote
moni_rawr Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 For J's, I found: Jackie Tyler Captain Jack Harkness J7 (aka Chimera) Janet who helped defeat the Vervoids Janley who assists on Vulcan and died saving Valmar Jondar - Varosian rebel John Viner For V's, I found: Vincent van Gogh Victoria - Josiah was planning on using someone to kill her VIJ Voga - a fragment of it landed in orbit near Jupiter Man oh man...this show sounds pretty good lol. Might have to see if it's on Hulu or something. Edit: Saw it has nothing to do with Dr. Who. JV - Junior Varsity? Quote
jumpingbeans Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 DOCTOR WHO HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH IT. ...Ok, I lied. One of the letters is something Doctor Who. But think as each letter as a separate entity, but together form a whole. I'm thinking I should make a topic for this... Also, JV mean nothing together. It just might be easier to focus on those two, because they'll probably be the easiest. Quote
moni_rawr Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 Yeah, a separate topic may be easier to access for us people trying to crack your evil genius code lol. By form a whole, do you mean something like a quote? Quote
jumpingbeans Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 There, just made a Contest Topic. Go post your guesses there. So, who here has watched Doctor Who? And I suppose, something like a quote. Quote
flyingeevee Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 I wasn't joking when I said I was going from the very beginning haha xD Now made it to Marco Polo but the original footage is gone...so I'm watching the audio and still pictures of it xD So far I'm enjoying it and hope to someday soon finish all the many seasons >w< Quote

Just kidding lol, know what you mean. How is the original footage for the episode gone? Quote
flyingeevee Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 I had to look it up since I was curious why the episodes were finally in color but it was just pictures and audio. Turns out there were a lot of the original episodes from the first two doctors that were destroyed or wiped out during building upgrades. So around 106 episodes are gone and only pictures and audio have been saved from fans. Quote

jumpingbeans Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 Wow...that's harsh. I'm currently listening to Doctor Who music. :) Specifically, I Am The Doctor. I just love that song. :) Quote
flyingeevee Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 This was back in the 60s so I'm not that surprised that no one really recorded it and such. At least something exists so that we can still enjoy it rather than just read a summary of them xD I highly support Doctor Whooves and admit he's one of the other reasons why I knew I HAD to start watching Doctor Who! Yeah, that makes sense...did they even have VHS players back then? lol. Oh man, love the music and the My Little Ponies! If I were to start watching Dr. Who, would you guys suggest watching from the VERY beginning, or from the show that started in...2005 I believe it was? Quote
el_blubo Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 DO I SPOT PONIES???? where my bronies at!!! Quote
Zafie Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 DO I SPOT PONIES???? where my bronies at!!! I adore My Little Pony. Not just because the ponies are cute but also for the very good animation involved in it. :) Quote

I don't think they actually did have vhs...I would have to ask my parents since they were born in the 60's lolz! I started from the very early episodes mainly because I want to see it all in complete order soo...you would have to ask someone else their recommendation since I have no clue about later seasons. I'm enjoying the early episodes even though it's black and white so that must mean something! :laughingsmiley: Proud female brony here! I just love this duo for some reason! Quote
