keiwo Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 Know of any good ones?! I've yet to see a horror movie that's actually... well... horrifying. :P I know the feeling! The only movie I've legitimately been scared by is The Blair Witch Project.. laugh all you want BUT IT'S CREEPY OK. Most horror movies rely on shock factor ie things jumping out at you and that's just.. nah Quote
flyingeevee Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 Something has happened! Atzicitlali says 'I'm so happy that you are my owner!' D'awww that made my Neopian day :'D As for the horror movies, I usually enjoy the ones that stay in my head even after the movie is over sooo any psychological horror will do! Personally these movies were scary to me if even in a "I know it's fake but I still feel eerie going in the basement with no lights on" feeling xD The Grudge Halloween (the ORIGINAL one) Suspiria Jacob's Ladder I guess the older films get to me more than a lot of the newer horror films since it's all just jump scares or just wanting to have blood everywhere nowadays :/ If you want a REAL scare. Play Fatal Frame 2 (PS2 game) in the dark. Trust me if you want to actually be scared x'D Quote
khaos Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 I don't really watch horror movies. I might get scarred for months like I did when I watched Elfen Lied and Higurashi. Quote
flyingeevee Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 I don't really watch horror movies. I might get scarred for months like I did when I watched Elfen Lied and Higurashi. Oooh I really liked both those anime series! Higurashi was just disturbing to me but after watching it all, I got into the story and it was really interesting! Elfen Lied was just really bloody in the first episode but then calmed down. I wished there were more episodes like in the manga but it was good ^^ I love how I used to be easily scared of any scary movies or moments...to the point that my friends and family made fun of me because I was easily scared. So as an experiment, I FORCED myself to watch all the movies I didn't wanna see because they scared me. After watching over 15 scary/bloody/thriller/psychological movies, I...was...hooked :D I still get grossed out by gross scenes like in Dread. However, I can now totally watch any scary movie just to have fun and not be as scared :3 The ONLY thing that can still scare me today is playing a scary game in the dark. I learned to NOT do that at night in the dark when I plan on sleeping x'D Also...I CANNOT handle any cruelty to birds in any way or form in a movie. I think that scares me above everything else I ever said. I really have a deep connection with birds and seeing anything to harm them literally makes me cry. Imagine how I felt when I saw The Hills Have Eyes (uncensored) and NO ONE told me about the lovebird part! I cried in my bathroom while holding one of MY lovebirds :sad02: Quote
Sweet_Jasmine Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 I have sooo many horror films I can't even name all the ones I like. I guess thats why I don't get scared the easily anymore. Quote

I used to jump, but not any more, not really. But ahhh, agreed! The Blair Witch Project still freaks me out. I have a mini heart attack every time i see a pile of stones anywhere... Quote

The only horror movie I might watch is The Omen and maybe Insidious. Quote
flyingeevee Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 Haven't seen The Omen and Insidious was alright...this ONE jump scare got me good though x'D If anyone can recommend any other good scary movies, do share! I'm still trying to watch more that I haven't seen :3 Quote
Spritzie Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 I'm far too easy to startle and creep out for horror movies. I've never seen one, nor do I plan to. Quote
moni_rawr Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 I love scary movies, but I hate the paranoia afterwards lol. Foreign horror movies seem to be scarier for me, but I usually prefer watching American ones because I'm only creeped out for a day or so afterwards, while with foreign horror movies...they stay in my head for weeks. Quote
Spritzie Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 I don't even want to hear them. I have to wear headphones when my husband is watching them. Come to think of it... I have seen a horror movie. I saw Daybreakers. I was completely grossed out, but it wasn't that bad, considering. But I haven't seen the super creepy, violent ones, like the Saw movies or ones like that. Quote

If you get nauseous easily, you wouldn't be able to stomach the Saw movies. I prefer comedy movies myself, but I enjoy the adrenaline rush from scary/horror movies. Quote
Spritzie Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 :laughingsmiley: I gross out semi-easily as well. It's not so much an adversion to blood and guts (like my sister and dad) but CSI is about the limits of that I like to have to look at. Quote

Seeing my own blood makes my stomach curl a bit, but I love CSI and (some) gory movies. Quote
Spritzie Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 It depends. Things like CSI, I can deal with. Daybreakers, had a bit too much blood for me at the end. And I don't even like the sounds. My husband plays some graphic games here in there, or the horror movies, and I can't deal with it. Just hearing the noises grosses me out. When it comes to real life, I don't think I could give shots, or draw blood. (I don't like having either done to me.) but I deal with what I have to and that's about it. It's my sister and dad that are absolutely horrible with it. My dad avoids it at all costs, except for when he has to do stuff, like when he had to give my mom shots after her surgery. And my sister... well, she fainted, just watching me get laser treatments on my birthmark when I was younger. She wasn't even having to deal with it, she was just watching. I remember the doctor and nurse having to stop part-way through, to carry her out of the room. Quote
passiflora Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 Haven't seen The Omen and Insidious was alright...this ONE jump scare got me good though x'D If anyone can recommend any other good scary movies, do share! I'm still trying to watch more that I haven't seen :3 I thought Insidious was ridiculous LOL. Lots of horror movies can make me jump, but it doesn't have any kind of lasting effect. :( But I haven't seen the super creepy, violent ones, like the Saw movies or ones like that. I'm kind of grossed out like that too - I think I'm more able to handle blood IRL than in movies, though. :laughingsmiley: But to me, gory stuff is just gross, not scary -- so I didn't particularly enjoy the Saw movies, but not because I thought they were frightening. I just don't think it has any entertainment value. :P Quote
jumpingbeans Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 *Changes topic of horror movies* So you guys like my new name, right? :P But, just so you know, it's NOT random. And, in fact, I'll give 25 000 NP to the first person to figure out what it is. Quote

jumpingbeans Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 Well, there's one failed attempt...at least, for now. And I really highly doubt you'd find in on Google... Quote
khaos Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 well jagntah is a word in some language, and i have no clue. Quote
jumpingbeans Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 Really? Jagntah is a word somewhere? An unexpected coincidence, it is. I'll go see if I can find out what language it may or may not be from. Quote
khaos Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 what does it mean. my best guess is a password of some sort. maybe of your computer? Quote
jumpingbeans Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 Jagntah? Didn't see anything...found Jagannath, a 'deity worshiped primarily by the Hindu and Buddhist' (Taken From Wikipedia) Anyway, anyone should can figure it out, if they think. I have a few hints I'll give out if no one gets it soon. Anyone here like Doctor Who? Quote
