FabKiwi06 Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 Yeah, welcome Kiwi! You should stick around and not disappear like I did x_x I don't disappear... I asplode. Kinda like Gir, except I'm less convincing in a dog suit. Quote
livvy Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 Eh, don't beat yourself up about it, Doc. I disappeared a bunch myself, and I've apparently been forgiven. =P We come and go sometimes, but as long as we come back, we're good. Sorry, I don't know much about Netflix. Get a mystery! I love mysteries. Quote
:)Doc Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 I don't wanna beat myself up! I already don't trust myself, so I don't think that will help the situation! :P Heh. Quote
Spritzie Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 Firstly, Divya... Livvy and I both know you're not really sorry. :P Second, movies: I recommend... Clash of the Titans (for an action type), How to Train a Dragon (for just cutesy), The Andromeda Strain (Though I think it might actually be a TV special, I'm not sure). Quote
FabKiwi06 Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 ooh... just noticed i'm a rookie now. Moving up in the world. Quote
Spritzie Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 Eh, I'm not terribly religious, but I'd rather my post count not stay on 666 :P Just saying I totally skipped over this before. My mom used to work for the county's DMV, and people used to refuse to take license plates that had 666 as the number. (Then again, they also got threatening notes in the boxes of license plates, because back then, inmates still made them.) :laughingsmiley: Quote
livvy Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 Haha, yeah. Those little member title things get pretty interesting at some point. One of the automatic ones is something like "I like cheese" :P *nods agreement with Spritzie* EDIT: :O That's kinda scary, Spritzie! Threatening notes? Quote
CAV of Gang Green Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 Spritzie, I saw the first half of Clash of the Titans. All I can say is this: I am NOT looking forward to see the rest of it. It's one of those movies that you WANTED to like, but can only hate. The original Clash of the Titans is easily the better. Anyone got any good recommendations for Netflix movies? I'm down to my last 5 in the queue, and I'm running out of new ones... 1. Avatar (if you haven't already seen it) 2. Zombieland (comedy) 3. Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince (fantasy) 4. An Inconvienent Truth (something tells me I spelled that wrong) 5. Percy Jackson: The Lightning Thief 6. How to Train Your Dragon 7. Paranormal Activity (be warned that you might get sleepless nights after watching this) 8. The Blind Side 9. The Hurt Locker 10. Shawshank Redemption 11. The Dark Knight 12. District 9 13. Deep Impact 14. The Longest Yard That's what I can think of off the top of my head. Quote
Spritzie Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 EDIT: :O That's kinda scary, Spritzie! Threatening notes? Yep. My mom would find them in the boxes of license plates when she was unpacking them. I guess they weren't amused to be making license plates. Quote
FabKiwi06 Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 Thanks. I'll have to update. Right now I have the first Indiana Jones... and no desire to watch it. *sigh* Quote
Spritzie Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 But CAV :( I loved Clash of the Titans. And I forgot about Avatar. That was really good as well. And District 9 was pretty good. OH! And 2012. One of my favorites of all time. Quote
livvy Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 I haven't seen any of those movies. =\ I don't go to the movies much. Quote
Spritzie Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 I don't either. I think I've been a couple times in the last few years. We rent our DVDs from the library. Same with TV show seasons. Quote
Unstream Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 I didn't really like District 9, personally. I Am Legend was a good movie. There's also your Harry Potters and Lord of the Rings if you haven't seen those yet. Uh, Get Smart is pretty funny. Quote
livvy Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 I still need to see the Lord of the Rings movies. Quote

There's also your Harry Potters and Lord of the Rings if you haven't seen those yet. Uh, Get Smart is pretty funny. My husband loved District 9, but it's not really my type of movie. We went for his birthday. And he tried to get me to watch I Am Legend, but I can't do zombie-type movies. I loved the Lord of the Rings movies. (I've only seen the first 2, so far.) Gandalf is completely awesome. Quote
:)Doc Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 I'm 14 so I haven't really been able to see these movies you speak of :P Stupid over-protective parents Quote
Spritzie Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 I'm 14 so I haven't really been able to see these movies you speak of :P Stupid over-protective parents I know what you mean. My parents wouldn't let me or my sister watch PG 13 movies, until we were 13. I think I was 17 or 18 when I saw my first R rated movie. Quote
livvy Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 Me neither, Spritz. I can't handle horror/gore-type movies. *shudders* I haven't seen an R-rated movie yet, and I'll be old enough to do so in less than 2 months. *shrug* I really have no desire to see them. Quote
Spritzie Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 I just don't do well with that stuff. He loves it. Zombie movies, horror movies. I like disaster movies. That's as close as I can get. Oh, and I like CSI. :laughingsmiley: Quote
Unstream Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 Well I Am Legend isn't really a horror/gore movie. My parents aren't too overprotective. Mostly because I can get my hands on any movie I want to see :P I don't really pay attention to ratings. I mean, The Happening was rated R and I watched it because I was curious of what it was about, not because it was rated R. Quote

(I made it as far as him locking up the house that first time, before I made him shut it off.) The Happening was creepy. :laughingsmiley: I try not to think about that movie. I'm that big of a wimp. The movie Signs creeped me out when I was 18. Quote
Unstream Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 Haha yeah I agree it is kinda creepy. I really encourage anybody who watches it to stick to the end though. It's a great ending. Yeah, The Happening was pretty creepy too. But it was cool. Completely impossible, but cool nonetheless :P Quote
Spritzie Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 He's bound to make me finish it some day. Same with... Event Horizon, I think it was. The Happening was a very intriguing idea. And really scary, if it was actually possible for it to happen. Quote
Unstream Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 I think you should finish it. As in watch it now :P Yeah, I guess that's true. I remember it ending on a rather anti-climatic note though. Oh, another good movie is The Bucket List. Another one of my favorites. Quote
