Nope, no weird sci-fi tech-y stuff. Just an island where people don't believe in waking up at 7 AM, they instead believe in waking up when the sun is at the tip of the palm tree as seen from point x in the village square.

We'll have an elected timekeeper who is responsible for determining the sun-points each day and what activity they equate to. Such as the sun-point for leaving work, the sun-point for waking up, the sun-point for gatherings to be held...

You do realize that this is actually kind of similar to how 'normal time' was defined?

 

And Spritzie, horses?!? really?

 

Also I love 1/2 price day. I scored herbal scrambled eggs and magical cookie today. Holla!

EDIT: Yep, Wembly, I do, but on this island, we won't have defined time periods. They'll be totally dependent upon the sun, which actually makes more sense, because light, and not some arbitrary number, is the important factor in distinguishing night from day.

It came at 4:00 PM. And we service 2 buildings right now. At one point, it will be 3, before cut back to 2. So I have to get everything done at both.

Yes, horses. The sidewalk flooded in 5 minutes... so it has to be horses too.

I never go to shops, so it doesn't really affect me. I'm horrible at restocking.I like sniping better.

I go to the shops here and there. I love the Post Office. I like popping into the various petpet shops too.

Is it weird that the :wub_anim: bothers me because its color is off? It doesn't seem to have the same feel as the yellow smilies.

Haha, what a revelation there. (this was in reference to a cow mooing which I should have quoted, fail). I was starting some art for the art contest but I don't think I will get it done in time, saddness. Oh well, maybe I will use it for something else later.

I've just started entering the story competition myself. Haven't won yet, though :(

It's highly unlikely you'll win anything so shortly after starting. It takes a lot of practice to get good enough to win against other veteran writers/artists.

Of course not! It's very good to try. If you never tried, you'd never get to be one of those veteran writers/artists. And neither would they!

I don't think I'll ever enter a competition. I'm not a big fan of competition of any sort. In fact, that's why I dropped gymnastics forever ago; they were going to start making me compete, and I don't like to compete.

I've entered the caption contest a couple times. It's hard though, because a lot of the "winning" captions, aren't even funny.

I've never paid much attention to the caption contest. I did for a period of a couple weeks, but I got tired of seeing repeat captions or un-funny captions or highly improbably captions. :sad01_anim: It's hard to fathom the workings of voters.

And yeah, I was a gymnast in elementary school. Around 4th grade they started making me compete. By 5th grade I was completely disenchanted.

 

See, what I hate about competition is that someone has to lose. It might be me, and then I'd be disappointed. Or it might be someone else, and then I'd have made them lose, so I'd feel bad. It's a lose-lose situation for me.
