jumpingbeans
:) Ok, your school would probably be a lot different than mine(I'm in Nova Scotia), but what big projects did you have. Speaking of which, I had a project in sixth grade where we had to make a country, and mine was a french pig-latin speaking 50km2in the middle of the Carribean :)
-Ryan
I don't think we had any for math, for Social Studies we had to remake a battle in the Civil war and we had alot of essays, and then all my other projects were for an honors class or Avid. jumpingbeans
Avid? What's Avid? does it stand for A Very Important Dog?
-Ryan
No, it's a college preperation class. So hard to get into too. T-T And unless you live in California or states close to it I doubt you've heard of it... In 6th your teachers select a few kids from your school to be considered, then you get interveiwed, then you have to get 2 written tacher recomendations, then you write an essay about why you want to join the program thing, and THEN they decide who gets in. -headdesk- Only 24 people got in though and i'm extremely suprised I made it. :P
jumpingbeans
Congratulations! And here I was thinking you were an important dog :laughingsmiley: So, you make the Avid program, yet you misspell 'teacher' 'tacher' I know it was just a small mistake, but a mistake like that again could cost you your avid. You want to be :graduated: , don't you?
-Ryan
Thanks. :P And you stay in it until you graduate high-school unless the state can't fund the class anymore which is quite possible... But mi tachirs teechd me real gud! specilie yn grammers an spelinz.

Spritzie
Middle school was easy. No big deal. The big changes don't come until HS. At least for me. I went into advanced math in 6th. Did it through 8th. Nothing was different in MS. In HS, if you missed a gym class, you had to make it up, or your grade suffered. You had tons more homework. The books to carry were insane. Freshman year, my backpack weighed about 30 lbs. And I had to do so much running around. My HS had 4 separate buildings. The main building had 3 floors, plus a basement. There was a 2 story building for the arts, print tech, auto tech. There was a Auxiliary gym, 1 block over. Then the main gym was 2 blocks down. And my classes were all over the place. I had to go 2nd floor, basement, 3rd, 1st and down 2 blocks, back up 2 blocks and up to 2nd, 1st then 2nd of the arts building. I was so tired, before I even got home. :laughingsmiley:
CAV of Gang Green
I'm up. I should make a Shark Week set. I'll do that right now.
Spritzie
I used to have this awesome icon/avatar a friend made me, that had a Great White shark, and she made it do the rippling water thing, and it said "Bite Me" I really need to find that. It was awesome. I love sharks. But I don't have cable. So I've never got to see the Shark Weeks. Except I did buy the 20th Anniversary Shark Week DVD set. -Ryan
I used to not realize how tired I was until the bell rang. :P I'd then begin a sluggish walk through hot weather to reach my moms truck, or occasionally just walk all the way home. :P

Divya Bean
Good morning/afternoon/night everyone! On the topic of school, I feel super smarticle! :graduated: (say the word, Ryan! ;) ) I am skipping a grade into HS and I is scared...
-Ryan
Yes, Divya is the definition of smarticle. I'm still kinda shocked about that. (you skipping a grade)
Divya Bean
Aw, thank you! So am I. :O But no need to talk about it. ;) Haha. I have a question that is really random so dont yell at me for changing the subject: Why are some people's names italisized when they are "reading the topic" at the bottom of the screen?
Spritzie
HS isn't scary Divya. With your intelligence, you'll be just fine. I thought HS was going to be scary. It wasn't, it was just a lot of work. EDIT: Their names are like that, when they're typing a reply.
-Ryan
I've been wondering about that too. Maybe that happens when they're replying. Edit: Spritzie beat me to it. :P I think anonymous people just disapear from the bottom when they reply, though. :O
Divya Bean
Ugh, I hate work. I need time for play! :laughingsmiley: Ohhhh thank you! Now I know when to wait so I dont have a post lag. EDIT: And...I got post lagged. :rolleyes_anim:
CAV of Gang Green
I'm going into one of the best high schools in the state of NY. I'm feeling smarticle.
-Ryan
I have a theory. I think that when you start going on the internet when young, you tend to be smarter depending on who you chat with and more mature depending on how harsh the people you meet are. Notice how most of the TDNers are in honors courses or were. :P
Spritzie
I went to the only HS that had an IB program at the time. I took honors classes. And I can proudly say... I hated it. I hated school. I always have. I'm just glad to be out.
Unstream
That's cool CAV. Private or Public school? Our school was considered one of the top 500 public high schools in the country. It was pretty cool  Our school just applied for IB courses, so we'll only get it my senior year, and since it's a two-year program, I won't be able to take it :( School isn't bad though. I take all honors and I practically sleep through class. I can't wait for AP. Maybe it'll be enough to keep me conscious :P
CAV of Gang Green
I hate school too, but when something needs to be done, I step up to the challenge. And this is why I'm going to one of the best schools in the state. Public. But it has the education of a private school. Have you heard of the specialized high schools in NY?
Divya Bean
Same here! I am going to a top school. :graduated: And lol, Ryan. I like your theory. :laughingsmiley:
