Macabre Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 I have something to admit...I've never played Pokemon. It's sad...definitely had the hippie "go create something" parents. :hmmph: Which I actually like now but didn't then. Quote
Spritzie Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 I have something to admit...I've never played Pokemon. It's sad...definitely had the hippie "go create something" parents. :hmmph: Which I actually like now but didn't then. I know what you mean. Growing up, my sister and I weren't allowed to have cable tv, or video games. I got my first video game thing (A Game Boy Advance) when I was 24. :laughingsmiley: Quote
Divya Bean Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 Yeah, my parents are VERY strict about some things but not about other things. Like, they get me whatever I want, but I cant really go out with friends. I HAVE to get As, but I stay after school to work on a project with my team/friends. Arghh...But I still have an iTouch and the Samsung Impression and a laptop! :D Quote
Spritzie Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 My parents varied with my sister and I. My sister was trouble from the time she was 3. I was the quiet, laid-back one. She was always loud, talking back. When my sister got older, she always had a curfew. When I got older, I never had one. But my sister went out with friends all the time, and my parents never really knew where she was going. With me, I didn't go anywhere often, and when I did, I was with someone they trusted completely, so I never had one. With my best friend, I was allowed to stay out as late as I wanted with her. Quote
Divya Bean Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 Lucky!! With my parents, I am the bad one. They only put up with me because I am an angel in school. My sister is the opposite: angel at home, devil at school. But my parents dont know that, so they just think she is an angel all around 0:) . Grrrr... Quote
Spritzie Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 I still do well with my parents... except my mom and I argue a bit. But we do better now that I don't live at home anymore. We got over it a bit, when I lived an hour and a half away. But at that point, I saw my parents more than I have been until recently, when I live only 15 minutes away. Quote
Divya Bean Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 I fight with my parents ALL the time. Oh well, I am ALMOST a teenager. But I still love them. All of my friends are SOOO jealous that I can get whatever I want, but they dont know the other side of my parents... :sad01_anim: Quote
Spritzie Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 I always got along great with my parents. I used to tell my mom that I was going to live with them forever. (Thankfully, I out-grew that.) I didn't start arguing with my mom until I turned 16. (And that only started because she couldn't stand my best friend at the time.) Quote
Divya Bean Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 My fights with my parents are really stupid, I guess, I just have a pretty bad temper so I flare up about anything. At least, thats what they tell me. They also tell me that I am a very bad bad BAD girl and I am going to end up working at McDonalds and I wont get into college! :ohno: Quote
Spritzie Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 Awww... McDonalds??? Now that is kind of mean. :laughingsmiley: Quote

My parents tell me I can do anything i put my mind to... I know better than that, but maybe it's because i rarely fight with my parents. I almost never yell at them and when I fight with my mom it's usually because she thinks I play to much video games :worried: Quote
Spritzie Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 After the whole friend thing, from 15-18, my mom started thinking I was on the computer too much. Now I think she just likes to give lectures. lol I try my best to be patient. Growing up, my mom and I were inseparable. Now, I don't get to spend much time with her. I work 40 hours in the first part of the week. Then I try to spend my time off work with my husband. But since I only work until 12pm on Wednesdays, I've started trying to stop by my parents' and spend the afternoon with my mom. Quote
Divya Bean Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 My parents are REALLY nice, but when I get mad, they get mad. Whatever, I will grow out of it I hope. Quote
Domino Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 My parents...are pretty chill. I'm pretty much allowed to do whatever I want...since I'm a pretty good kid in general. I'm lucky. Quote
-Ryan Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 I'm occasionally bad at home but usually okay, although my parents start fight with me over incredibly stupid stuff. And then they're both manipulative about everything... Plus they accuse me of lying about everything. "Did you brush your teeth?" "Yes" "Oh really, i'll just go check to see if your toothbrush is wet" Quote
Spritzie Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 "Did you brush your teeth?" "Yes" "Oh really, i'll just go check to see if your toothbrush is wet" lol my parents went through that phase too when I was younger... especially when I had braces. :laughingsmiley: Quote
Divya Bean Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 Hahaha! My parents always believe I am telling the truth, so when they find I am not, they get super mad and tell me that I am ruining my life. :( Quote
Spritzie Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 My parents were fairly balanced. They usually believed me (because I proved myself) and they didn't believe a word my sister said. My parents love to tell the story of my sister's first lie at age 2/3. Someone recommended my parents use a big timer for time-outs for my sister. So one night, they put her in a corner with the timer, and set it for 5 minutes. Less than 2 minutes later, the timer went off. My parents pulled her out of the corner and asked her if she messed with the timer. Of course her answer was, "I didn't do anything." My mom believed her. (At the time.) My dad, however, was not fooled. :laughingsmiley: Quote
Divya Bean Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 Awwww...That is so cute! I was always the lier and my sister is the good girl so she is always in charge even though I am 3 years older!!! Arghhh...Sometimes I feel like becoming the good girl, but then I change my mind because that would be boring. :rolleyes_anim: Quote
Spritzie Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 My sister and I are about 3 years apart, a little less. She's older. I've always been the angel. She's been well... the opposite. :laughingsmiley: Quote
Divya Bean Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 Hahaha! Same here! Well, I am gonna prove my parents wrong by acing the SATs this December (I am in 7th grade) and getting into that John Hopkins program! :graduated: Quote
Spritzie Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 The only thing my parents ever had to get after me for in school, was my hand writing grades in grade school. I did horrible, as did my sister. Ironically, my hand writing is really nice now. lol My sister and I always did well in school. She was one of those super brains, and I just did well... mostly A's. A couple B's here and there. Quote
Divya Bean Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 yeah, I always get As and I am in my double advanced math class, and I am taking AP courses in 9th grade instead of in 11th grade. PS - just now I got the Symol Avatar!!!! :laughingsmiley: Quote
Spritzie Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 I just saw your Symol avatar on Neopets a couple minutes ago. That's great. That one is an annoying one to get. I got mine a couple weeks ago. I haven't been to the Symol Hole since. Quote
Divya Bean Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 Mine was actually really easy to get, I only went there a couple of times :laughingsmiley: . I am never going there again though! :sad01_anim: Quote
