Anime
Now, all I really know about the 3DS is what was published in the latest issue of Game Informer, but I think they hit everything known..... anyways, rumor is the 3DS will be fully backwards compatible with regular DS games, and Serebii managed to get a tenative confirm on BW being trade compatible with DPPt and HGSS. For those who don't know, the shiny legendary dogs to be given out at the next movie premire in Japan are stated in the info that comes with the premire pre-order ticket to unlock something, but there's nothing left to unlock in any exisitng games. This means, of couse, that they unlock things in BW, and as such are tradeable to those games from the current ones.

CAV of Gang Green
I got my info on the 3DS at GameSpot. While it sounds like a cool idea, I see an epic fail in the future.
tempdisplay
I'm playing Crystal on my Phone. Now I see why people like it so, I mean I've only just started, but it seems so fresh, and I like how there aren't many cities, so you can get through Johto quick :) Can't wait to face that Gym Leader with the Miltank xD
CAV of Gang Green
They have Crystal as a phone app? Wait, regular phone, or iPhone?
Meeptroid
My guess would be iPhone. It's not an app itself though though. You have to download "gameboy4iphone" and then download the Pokemon Crystal rom. Or any other Game Boy rom, I suppose. Of course, that is one way to do it. Not sure if there is another way... CAV of Gang Green
Argh, don't have an iPhone. I found a short summary of Black & White while surfing online. Not sure if it's true. On January 29, 2010, the Pokémon Company announced that a new game was in development for the Nintendo DS to be released later that year. Director Junichi Masuda stated that several aspects of the series were being revamped for the new generation. On April 9, 2010, the Japanese .website updated with the titles of the versions as Pokémon Black and White, and announced a Fall 2010 release date. The games will feature an improved visual style from other Pokémon games, with an increased use of 3D computer graphics than other games, but it will not be on the new Nintendo 3DS system. Anime
Seeing as the topic has run dry.... uh... how many of you have caught shinies?
CAV of Gang Green
I don't care for shinies, so I have none.
Luciana
What. So if you encounter a shiny in a wild battle you wouldn't try to catch it? I caught a shiny ditto recently. My reaction was kind of like :I
Anime
I've been wondering- if a shiny Ditto transforms into a non-shiny, will it be normal colored like the other Pokemon, or shiny via it's shininess? I have caught three in total over all my games. The first was a Wrumple in Sapphire (I think), thoguh that was before I knew about them and I didn't evolve it due to thinking the color would go back to normal. No idea what happened to it. Second was in Pearl, a Kricketot. I gave it to Metroid as I have no liking for the Pokemon itself. The third was a Silcoon in Plat (now Beautifly) that I found to be extremely powerful (I had HBK check it- 31 Sp Atk IV :D). Love him to death. And that's not including my shiny Pichu from the GameStop event, and the shiny Milotic from last year's game tournament.
CAV of Gang Green
What. So if you encounter a shiny in a wild battle you wouldn't try to catch it? I've never encountered one, which is why I don't care. But I would try to capture it if I found one. I'm just not that interested. I'm more into collecting legendaries, which is why I borrowed my friend's action replay.
Luciana
I've been wondering- if a shiny Ditto transforms into a non-shiny, will it be normal colored like the other Pokemon, or shiny via it's shininess? Transform copies the target exactly. If the ditto is shiny but the other pokemon is normal colored, it will turn into the regular colored pokemon. Same if the target is shiny and the ditto is normal. It'll transform into a shiny. CAV- Why do you need action replay? It's really not hard at all to get legendarys legitimately.
Anime
Thanks, that always bugged me. xD I think he's reffering to the event ones, like Arceus and Darkrai.

Arceus, Darkrai, Suicune, Mewtwo, etc. I can't get those in Diamond without an action replay.
-Ryan
What I do is restart old gameboy games and get legends and other rare/strong pokemon then migrate them to my play and soulsilver games. And i've only ever caught one shiny. It was a whismur that got deleted when I restarted my emerald game.
Viridian
Seeing as the topic has run dry.... uh... how many of you have caught shinies? My very first shiny was... A shiny butterfree, which I caught at a bug catching contest. I loved the color change! Others I got in Pokémon Silver Of course, the red gyarados. And a Shiny Tentacruel, lol From Crystal I got a shiny pichu from an egg. Last summer my boyfriend, my brothers and I were trying to catch a shiny the first. My brother won in Platinum, by catching a shiny Bidoof... :woot: I can't remember for how long I had to laugh at that.
tempdisplay
Not caught one. Ever :( I guess my games don't like me ^_^ EDIT: I a yet to get the Shiny Gyrados on Crystal however. @CAV, it's a regular/symbian phone (N79). I can link it if you want. And, I'd like to show you guys THIS. It's my entry for a Competition on PokeCommunity Forums :D

Spritzie
I got a shiny on Fire Red. It was the Koffing. (It appeared blue, instead of purple.) Having never played Pokemon before, I thought it was like the Nidorans, where the male and female were different. I was extremely confused until my husband looked at it and informed me it was shiny. :laughingsmiley:
