  1. Just put something up for auction but I put the starting price up as 5,500,000 instead of 500,000 and I put it up for 2 days instead of 1. Is there any way of getting it out of the auction house or do I have to wait for the whole two days?

Probably shouldn't have gone on neo after that bottle of wine. :*

  2. If you have a smart phone download ghoul catchers.  For me it's an easy 50k per day.  I just play level 1 over and over again until I reach the limit.  Other than that I just sell everything I get from dailies or random events.  I stick everything that I receive as a rare item from contests and seasonal in my SDB and forget about it for a while.  Usually I'm able to sell that stuff for a nice sized profit.  I'll play solitaire, too.  Since the page is refreshing a lot, you tend to get more random events.  Lots of opportunity for bank errors in your favor and random goodies.  Also, don't forget to play the battle dome.  Codestones are always worth a good bit of money.

Thank you so much for this! I hadn't downloaded GC because I heard it was really buggy and that people can't move forward after a certain level (and I was also worried about it linking up with my facebook account). Didn't realise that you could play level 1 again and again and that there was a 50k limit.

I can play during lunch at work so I should be able to earn at least a million a month from it. :D

  3. So I've never had any idea what the AC is. You know, I've yet to find a guide on TDN, JN or SN that actually explains what on earth the AC is and how it works that assumes you know absolutely nothing about any of it. Because all the guides I've read so far assume that the reader has at least some knowledge of the AC. I don't. I still don't really have a clue what it is or how it works but I clicked on the sign up link. Chose Lost Desert randomly.

There is no way on earth I can play Yooyuball. It's not going to happen. But I think that if I play and do really badly, I'll end up giving points to the other team, right? So I won't try to learn how to play it. Will stick with the other games.

  4. I only sell once my stocks hit 200% or more (I buy at 15, or if there aren't any that day, then 16 or 17, hence 200% rather than sell at 60). Although I have bent that rule a few times over the last month and sold at 100% and also not re-invested because I've been spending a fair bit on customisations.

I haven't been playing it for very long but I've probably made 100k. I have about 500k invested now because I haven't brought any new stocks for a while.

I'm getting really excited today. My largest stock, NATN (I have 6,000 shares) is finally starting to climb. It's at 70% right now. I have got to resist selling once it hits 100%.

My portfolio has always been in the red. It doesn't bother me. Actually that's the thing I'm really liking about having premium again. When I had it before I didn't have any stocks but now, because I'm checking on my shop till fairly regularly, I'm noticing if my stocks are changing. Because I'm really bad at remembering to check my stocks normally.

  5.

i vaguely remember that this is against the rules ... you're not allowed to transfer pets just to paint them magma

    Oh no. :(

I have a spare slot on that side and I was going to transfer the pet over from my newest side, paint it magma and then leave it there. Mainly because I wouldn't be able to send it back to my newest side as it's under 4 months old.

Oh well. I'll just have to keep looking for the time on my newest side.

  6. Congratulations!

    Also, thank you!

I read your post and I thought that I may as well give it a check. I was on my main and also a side account in another browser. Found the time on my side!

I'm just hoping that I am allowed to access it on my side account and transfer pets over to use it.

  7. I had premium for a year in 2013, I think. It wasn't really worth it for me. I'd been off neo for ages, came back and it happened to be pay day when I saw that premium was on a deal. But I was on and off neo during that year. I'd started playing again for the last few months of having premium but decided not to renew as I couldn't justify the full price of it.

Anyway, I did miss the SSW for a while, but I'd had years of playing neo without the SSW and having to use the SW, so after a few months I got used to just having the SW.

I missed having the premium collectibles although out of the 12 I got, there's only 3 that I like.

I missed the scratchcards but I started buying the desert scratchcards because they work similar to the space faerie ones. (I hate that the winter ones reload the page after every scratch. My internet is really slow. )

5th pet didn't bother me as I just put one over onto a side account.

But the thing I missed the most was the toolbar. Especially the dailies! I do use TDN's daily page but it's just not the same. Oh and being able to keep an eye on my stocks and my shop till as I'm useless at remembering to check my stocks.

I have premium again but probably only for this month. My nps are dwindling now thanks to habbi no longer being around :sad02: and I've had some customisations with most items coming up on the SW for around 80-90k. 1 month of premium is a fiver so I figured it was worth it to get the best deal. It's saved me about 300k (best one was somebody had priced a 90k item for 9k :D ). So worth it as I got the camo paintbrush that I needed for my cybunny for 150k.

I am sort of tempted with keeping it though. But I won't pay for a year up front because it's highly likely that I'll end up having at least a few months' break from neo because of life. It's only a fiver a month and I'll do the same as netflix, unsubscribe when I know I'm not going to be using it for at least a few weeks.

  8. All the junk items I've got from NC cards. Or when I've played the NC games because there's 1 item I really want and I end up with a load of rubbish. I'm spending real money here, why on earth can't I just pay the exact same amount of NC but actually get the item I want, rather than have to waste a load and never get what I what?

The only thing that is actually decent was the crafting faerie quests during the faerie event. Because then at least I knew what item I would get for the quest (and I did get the two items that I wanted).

I know it's all a con just to try to get us to buy more NC but it's not going to work on me anymore. I'm completely fed up with it. I've spent so much money for a load of junk and it's just wrong. So I will not buy anymore NC because it's just one big massive scam.

As for frustrating REs. The one that changes your pet to baby. It's only happened to me once but I'm still angry about it. I don't have masses of NPs. I've never had hours to waste on neopets. The internet connection here is shocking so add that to limited time means that re-stocking has never been an option for me. I have DCD so most of the games are not an option.

So I very slowly (it took me years as I was on-and-off neo for months/years at a time), playing the few games I could actually somewhat play (usually getting under 1k np in total from the 3 plays per game) saved up enough to paint my Kougra tyrannian. He was seriously awesome. Then a few months after that, he got the RE that turned him baby. I was so angry. I didn't even know such a thing existed otherwise I would have kept my lupe as my active (because I wanted a baby lupe!). I didn't really understand about customisation as it happened when I'd been off neo for over a year. When I came back I clicked convert on him because it was telling me that I wouldn't be able to do xyz with him, if I didn't (like I said, I didn't really understand). Then I saw his new look and I was horrified. It was awful. So I ended up painting him biscuit because it was cheap and better looking.

Imagine my frustration when I found out about UC pets. I'd had one. I'd had one! OK, I didn't like him but I had one! I could have traded him (I went onto the PC once in my younger days and everybody wanted snazzy, coded pet-pages detailing why you wanted to adopt their pet and I ran screaming for the hills. Didn't start looking into it until I found out about UCs). I pounded him in the end because I got annoyed every time I saw him because of his history.

So yeah, that's my baby RE story and it still makes me angry.

But my biggest frustration now is no more habbi! :sad02: I have no real way of making nps anymore apart from my stocks. :(

  9. Thanks guys :D

I have been leaning towards shadow but since acquarella mentioned about the eyes on the skunk I'm now torn. Thing that's holding me back from skunk is the white patch on her brow.

As for making another hissi, painting her a different colour doesn't really bother me. The only custo I've been able to come up with for a faerie hissi, that I can afford, is pretty much all NC items that are on my main. I don't have enough gift boxes to send the NC stuff to a side account (and I'm not buying anymore NC) and if she comes back to my main, then I have to get rid of my lab rat. (Seriously regretting getting my Lutari on my main. Was so happy to get the MP that I used it without thinking. Now I resent him. ) Said NC custo for her is one that I can live with for now, not one that I love like this one. (The custos that I love when I make them, I don't tend to change )

Also, my hissi's name means serpent/dragon in Sindarin which is utterly perfect for a hissi and I can't find a name that fits in with this customisation that I like.

The wanting a faerie hissi came from my younger days of always wanting a faerie pet, and after I got my hissis on hissi day several years ago, I ended up deciding that I wanted her to go faerie because it was my favourite hissi colour. But with how hard it's been to customise her, I'm happy to change her.

Think I am going to go for shadow, but I'm going to leave it a few days just to make sure because I really do like the skunk as well.

    EDIT (19 hours later :rolleyes_anim: )

She's skunk! I got the PB in an auction for 500k just now (JN says 500k but they're 1.2mill in the TP right now) so it's cheaper than the shadow. I'm happy with the skunk with this custo, the patch on her brow doesn't bother me that much and I do prefer the eyes compared to the shadow eyes. She's here and I love her :wub_anim:

Thank you all for helping me decide! :D

  10. I'm pretty bad at customisation but I do love playing around on dress to impress. Anyway, while trying to find a customisation for my faerie hissi I came up with something that really won't work with faerie.

I've loved the day and night wig for ages and so happy that I've come up with something that I like. But now I'm struggling with what colour to paint her! I have a FFQ so the cost of the colour doesn't bother me (I'll probably buy the PB if I end up going with a cheapish colour) . And I don't care about whether a colour is popular or desirable, what matters is that it works. (Am finding it sort of hilarious that I spent 3 years wanting a faerie hissi and now that I have one, I want to change her. Oh well. )

Oh also, if anybody has a better idea for her background and/or foreground I would love to hear it! It just has to be NP and cheap, under 50k if possible. I've given up hunting for the perfect background for her and just went with ones that I already own and look sort of OK :D

    Anyway, thank you! :D

  11. I love Interview with the Vampire. But I haven't read it for a few years. I need to re-read it.

I did start reading the Vampire Lestat but I ended up not finishing it because stuff happened in real life that meant I couldn't read for months. When I finally got the time to start reading again, I'd completely forgotten what had happened so far and didn't have the energy to go back and start it from the beginning again.

But thank you. You've reminded me that I need to read them! I have Interview, Vampire Lestat and Queen of the Damned on a bookcase somewhere.

  12. Just did my quest today. Item was a Buzzer that I had in my SDB.

    O. M. G.

You have completed a quest for a Grey Faerie.
    grey-faerie-1-1.jpg
You've done so much for me. Thank you, from the bottom of my sad little heart.

I have no magic of my own to reward you with, so I'm asking for help from another faerie.
Rainbow Fountain Faerie, come and bestow your blessing upon this Neopian! I cannot abide a debt that is not paid.

She will allow you to take a dip in the Rainbow Fountain!
*completely forgets that they're an adult and runs screaming around the room*
Now the question is whether to get the buzz avatar although I'm not an avatar collector and I never go on the boards, so what's the point?
Or do I get my new Cybunny, that's current on my side account, painted Eventide or Water (her name means moon tears). (The new Cybunny on my main is going camouflage when I can get around to it) Or do I create a whole new pet?
    Too many choices! :happydance:

  13. Genderqueer here. My pronouns are they/them/their.

Going to try to write about this but I'm dyslexic so I may not get my point across properly. Please ask for clarification if anything I write is confusing and I'll try to find another way to express it.

There are three options for the biological sex you are born with: male, female or intersex. Your sex is what's between your legs. Your gender is in your brain. Sex and gender are different things. I hate people who go "oh but gender is a social construct" like that completely discredits all genders that aren't cisgender. Our identities as human beings are completely and utterly tied up in how we interact with other people. That's society! Who you are is shaped by how you interact with everything.

And I'm going to stop on this now because I can't write about this properly.

Anyway, I loathe it when people call me a woman, or refer to me as she. I've only told a few people in person that I'm genderqueer and what my pronouns are as it will cause too many problems if I tried to explain it to family and work. (If any of my facebook friends look at my info page they'll see it but nobody looks there anyway :P ) So I just get on with it. When I'm in a more stable position I'll probably leave Narnia but not until then.

So far, the funniest question I've had about my gender from a person I've told was "oh, it's it because you can't have children?" (They weren't being nasty, they just didn't have a clue. )

  14. The photos are amazing! Glad you had a wonderful time and I'm so jealous that you went to the Harry Potter thing. I'm desperate to go but it's too far. Which is probably a ridiculous thing to say to somebody who's from Rio who went, but I would have to do it as a day trip (can't leave my dog overnight with my family) and it's a 145 mile drive there, so nearly 300 miles round trip which is insane for a day trip. Google maps is telling me that it'd be a 5 hour round trip but considering how useless our motorways are and the roadworks from hell in Birmingham, it'd be at least 7 hours. And if I did it on the train, it'd be 3 hours each way. I'm desperate to go, but not quite desperate enough to subject myself to 6 hours of torture or even worse, the risk of rail replacement buses. So I'm very jealous.

Oh, that's cool, too. Just too bad that there's not much left of it :(

The wall of Hadrian is in England as well, right? (no idea where in England, all we had to know in school was that it was somewhere in a northern-ish part of England)

Yep, it's in northern England. It's not the border between England and Scotland which is sometimes said about it. The west end is something like a mile from the Scottish boarder but the east end is about 70 miles from the border, I think.

    Here's a map

    HWall_420.jpg

Talking about history, or in this case prehistory, there's an Iron Age hill fort a 10 minute walk away. So that's over 2,000 years of documented human settlement right where I live. (There's loads of older sites within driving distance, but that's the nearest settlement from where I am right now. ) So when I was on a tour around San Francisco and the tour guide got very excited about telling us about the really old houses that were built in the 1920s, none of us were that impressed :p

For those who like the Romans, one of the larger Roman towns is a 15 minute drive away. But I'm not that fussed, I'm more interested in prehistory. Where I grew up (15 miles away from where I live now :p ), you can't go for a walk without coming across at least 5 prehistoric sites.

Actually, 2,000 years is nothing. Earliest remains of modern humans (Homo sapiens as opposed to other homo species) in Great Britain is from over 40,000 years ago (and that is nothing compared to Africa, obviously). I think humans started to arrive in what is now the USA about 15,000 years ago. So the US really is a baby compared to the UK (and we're like a baby compared to Africa :p )

And because I can't help myself, oldest documented evidence of humans (not modern humans, earlier species) in the UK is about 800,000 years. Oldest remains of a human species in the UK are from Boxgrove and they're half a million years old.

I've just read about this today and I'm ridiculously excited about it so I'm in full out geek mode at the moment. I am sorry.

And new reply while I was typing...

Yeah, I'd love to visit. What I always found funny about it was that it's talked about with such an air of greatness, and I really imagined a wall that was at least three meters high, kind of a Great Wall of China type thing, just not as long because, you know, England, and then, a few months after we'd first discussed it in class, the teacher showed a picture, and it did not meet my expectations AT ALL. It's just this knee-high wall, so that was rather dissapointing.

Knee high? Maybe, in some parts. Not so much in other parts :p

  15. I understand the science behind why some people may see it as white and gold but it's so obviously blue and black that this whole debate thing is just confusing me. My family all see it as white and gold (I have the best eyesight in the family) so now I'm just wondering what else they see as a completely different colour to what I see. My brain hurts.

Anyway, here's a photo of it at the wedding: http://www.buzzfeed.com/ryanhatesthis/dress-doxed#.axPnyPlpl

  16. Long range weather forecast is that it's going to be pretty mild for the next couple of weeks (which I'm really hoping for as I'm fed up of falling over on all the snow and ice (I'm nowhere near London BTW)). This is your friend for checking the weather: http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/2643743

Prepare for rain more than snow. If it does snow in London, even if it's only a very light dusting, prepare for all of London to grind to a halt and the national media go into melt down. (I'm only half joking here, the media's response to snow in London is pretty much to panic like the apocalypse is coming.)

I would highly recommend getting one of these: http://www.amazon.co.uk/London-PopOut-Map-pocket-size-Popout/dp/1845879481. You should be able to get them at the airport or any tourist shop. It's very handy as it fits into a pocket so you can pull it out quickly to check the tube map. I used that plus the citymapper app to get around London. But I don't think you'll be able to use your phone because of the data charges so possibly getting a bigger guidebook will be a good idea as well?

Everytime I go to London I'm always on a tight budget so my list of things to do are nearly all free! British Museum and the Natural History Museum are a must! At the Natural History Museum, if there's a long queue at the main doors, go out of the gates in front of the door, turn left, and then at the corner turn left again to go up the road to the side of the museum and you'll come to another entrance that is usually much quieter. V&A Museum and the Science Museum are pretty good as well. The National Gallery is good.

The performers in Covent Garden can be really fun. There's also an amazing tea shop in Covent Garden but I can't remember what it's called.

I really enjoyed just walking around London. I got to see a whole lot more than if I'd just gone on the tube everywhere. I spent an afternoon going from the British Museum, doing Covent Garden, Trafalgar Square, Palace of Westminster, Westminster Abbey (just from the outside) then went for an explore around Hyde Park, before going to Buckingham Palace and wandering back up the Mall. (But I walk miles every day for my job and am terrified of being underground so that's why I did it. )

Oh! The river bus! That wasn't free, I think I paid £4 something (I had a travelcard for the tube so got a discount on the river bus) but I really enjoyed it. I just caught it from by Big Ben to the Tower of London.

Oh! Tower of London and the Crown Jewels are interesting. But pretty expensive to get into, something like £20 (I went when I was a child, couldn't afford it when I was there in November. )

I've never been to Greenwich but really want to. But again it's pretty expensive.

McDonald prices were the same in London as they are where I live. I'm vegetarian so I only eat the vegetable deluxe but a large meal of that is something like £4.80. From what I've seen on the menu most of the meals are about £5 to £6 for a medium and only a little bit more for a large. Food can be pretty expensive in London but seriously try some other places apart from the fast food ones.

Oh! Handy slang term, which I should tell you because I've had to correct my writing here so many times, in the UK a quid is a slang term for £1.

As for clothes, for tops, lots of thinner layers: vest, long sleeved tops and a few fleeces plus a good coat. They work better than a few thick tops as they trap your body heat between each layer. Plus, heating will be on inside places so you may end up too hot so you might need to take a few layers off. If you can get hold of a pair of thermal leggings, they are wonderful under jeans. (I work outside, it's been about minus 3 most mornings this week. Thermal leggings are the best. )

It's gone past midnight now so I'm going to finish off but I will come back tomorrow with more suggestions. :)

  17. I can log in. But every page I load comes up as unavailable. I have to refresh 3 times for the page to eventually load and then as soon I click anything, same thing happens so I can't do any of my dailies.

Just going to give up and come back in a week. I'm really hoping that they give the prizes out again and that I will still get them even if I don't log in for a while.
