Regardless you'll be able to know when the avatar is available because TNT will mention something about the joke in the news. Just like they have in the past years. If you want to see what I mean here are some of the news archives from when you could get the avatar:

I don't know. It might just be me, but it seems like over the past few months, people have been getting more and more nasty toward TNT. They hate all the new site content and act like TNT doesn't care about anything but money and is incapable of producing quality content. The boards are all doom and gloom, and nobody has anything positive to say about the site.
 
But I don't know. I just don't feel the same frustration that everyone else does. I understand there hasn't been any amazing content lately, but really. Why does everything have to be big and epic to be fun anyway? It shouldn't have to be that way. I also understand the need for constructive criticism, but most of what I see isn't constructive criticism. It's whining and emotional abuse. I almost feel sorry for TNT sometimes.
 
Sorry this post has felt a bit like a rant, but I'm just curious. Am I the only one that's not ready to start an angry mob, because TNT isn't doing everything I want?

I have an Excel file in which I've timed how long it takes to play games, and then it calculates how many np you get per second from each game. I change the ratios in the file every time the game ratios change.
 
This month, the best games (in order) are:

Moon Rock Rampage (you have to finish level 10 one time; then you can just click "continue game" each time you play and just get the closest item. It's 250 points, which gives you 475 np.)

Attack of the Marblemen (you have to get up to level 45 and REMEMBER THE CODE for level 45! Then each time you play, go straight to level 45, collect coins, die, repeat to 120 points.)

Faerie Bubbles (you may not find it worth it, but it's easy and quick--just play the first level only and use the "bubbles" and "faerieland" cheats. If you get dark or earth, start over.)

I consider a game WORTH IT to play if it has a ratio greater than 8.33 neopoints per second-- that's two minutes or less to get 1,000 np. Keep in mind, not all games will GIVE you that 1,000 np but will still be worth it.

there's an editorial that says that if you do a daily on a side by mistake, it would be ok, just dont do that daily on your main for that day - so perhaps lay off the BD today?

Easier way of trading - no. You're stuck with the 800k limit of the Trading Post. And you've got it right, you just wait for NeoMails and set up a private (NF-only) auction to the person you're selling to. That's really the only way to work around it if you really only want pure NP :)
 
Some people do NP + Baby PBs because that's the easiest way to divide up the NP you can no longer add to the 800k, but that'll take more time for you to get the pure amount you'd like, so auctions is your best bet.

They should have released an epic fake prize shop or "opened" the obelisk to reveal something really lame. Something ... better. Some of the captions were clever (and the foods disgustingly realistic), but it was like seeing a mass release of future caption contests. Where's the panic? Where's the interactivity they incorporated a few years ago?

I've had surgery twice. Both times of my forearm. I had a bar and four screws put in to pin my bones back together after I had a compound fracture (this is a break where the bone breaks and sticks out through your skin.). And then I had another surgery on the same arm where they had to break the bones again and fix them. Both times it was really scary, but the doctors and nurses were super nice and helped keep my mind at ease. I remember the weirdest part was basically losing a day. Going to the hospital in the morning, going to sleep, and then waking up at night was totally strange. Felt like I was abducted by aliens or something. lol
 
I was really nervous both times but if I hadn't done the surgeries I would have ended up crippled in that arm and then not able to do a lot of things. If we had not fixed my arm then I may have been in pain my whole life and then ended up having more issues later on. It sounds like your surgery is going to be a really good thing for you. It's tough but all there is to do is be brave and know that things will be better when you come out on the other side.

you could start training her while you decide? lab ray sadly skews the stats, i've been trying to fix my poor lab ray pet for the last 3 months, his/her (keeps changing) level is so low compared to HP, been unable to train any other stat.
 
try playing around with come customisations as well if you are into that sort of thing? you could try zapping a poor pound pet and adopt it out if anything interesting happens to it (i always feel so sorry for the really badly named ones with no hope) in the meantime :)

I am surprised and saddened at the lack of plushies. That said, I am going to have an easier time choosing prizes, just gonna go with all the wearables probably. Perhaps snipe some books to save for later. That wig is especially cute and if they didn't bother to make it look good on the pets I will be greatly dissatisfied. A princess deserves perfection *flips hair*.

I am quite impressed by the wearables this year. I'm looking forward to collecting all them neggs so I can add these nifty spring wearables to my closet.

I just joined the forums so I thought I would post here to say hi.
 
I'm a 27-year-old teacher and grad student who has been on Neopets for just over 12 years. Even though I go through periods where I rarely visit Neopets, it's always great to come back to the site after I've been away for a while. I started playing more seriously last November after a 2 year hiatus and have been trying to catch up on all I've missed.
 
Neopets has been a part of my life for so long that it gives me a nice, warm, home-y feeling to browse around the Neopian worlds and reminisce about the way things were way back when I was 15 and was addicted to playing Mummy Maze, had a slow dial-up internet connection, and thought that 2000 NP was a huge amount of money (I remember buying a ~4k book to read to my Kacheek and saving up NP for like a week in order to buy it)!  
Currently I am a "jack of all trades, master of none" type of person, so I do a little of everything. I collect stamps and trading cards and avatars, I train one pet for the Battledome and read Booktastic Books to another, and play a lot of games. I don't have particularly great stats in any of these but I enjoy working toward a variety of goals, so I thought it would be fun to join a forum of like-minded Neopians to discuss my neo-adventures with.

Trading pets for items is super against the rules, no matter how you try to justify it. Better to wait until they can hatch it and trade pet for pet. You have to ask if getting it a few days faster is worth risking your account. I'm guessing the answer is no.

But, as far as anyone knows, at this point the war is drawing to a close. There's no more fighting going on, and we don't know if there will be anything else.

Those are all so cool! But the idea of a magma petpet brush is a bit odd, since you can't paint pets magma.

You can now pair your Magma Neopet with a Magma petpet!

It is still not fixed. I have been stuck with the Meerca Henchmen, which is annoying because I can beat them, but since DoN doesn't work I can't yet get one of the avatars. Plus, I can defeat several more of the enemies down the line.

On a slightly related note, I decided to fight Chiazilla to test my strength, won, tried again and got beaten in one hit. Guess I need to train more and save up for some better weapons.

You can discard junk items before your basket fills to increase your chance of getting better items (just pay attention to your number of clicks so you don't get kicked out before you fill it). But in the long run, most of the berries are so cheap it's still not worth the cost. The only day I go is St. Patrick's Day, to collect shamrocks. Er, Illusen Day/clovers. I sold a 4-leaf clover from last year for 70k (and a 5-leaf clover for several k) a few days ago, so yeah, it was worth it. The 3-leaf clovers don't sell for very much, though. All I got was 3 3-leaf clovers this year, so I likely lost money this year. I tend to sell them in the lead-up to the next St. Patrick's Day, when people are shopping for them but there aren't a lot around in the shops.
