Wow, 78 whole kids huh?  LOL.  I thought MY class of 289 was small, as it was they smallest at the time.  LOL.  Anyway, Thank you.  I feel vindicated because they wanted to keep him back in 3rd grade because of math.  He was having difficulty with multiplication.  But I refused and said I would work with him.  As a school nurse, we hear a lot of parents say that but they don't follow through.  Well, I did!  And by 4th grade, he was the top math student in his class!  I want to bring that award back to those teachers.Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against keeping children back when they absolutely need it.  The problem is, especially in Massachusetts, you have to be 5 when school begins.  Which my son was, so no problem there.  However school starts early here, sometimes as early as Aug. 25.  If the child's birthday is Aug. 29th or Sept 1, they have to wait a whole year until they can start!  Now that child is almost 6 by the time they begin Kindergarten.  Now, if they stay back, they are going to be 19 going on 20 when they graduate.  How many kids are going to go to school at 19?  Not many, and that is why the drop out rate is so high.  I don't know about anyone here, but there were NOT 72 kids who didn't graduate in my class!  Maybe 4 or 5 at most!  If I took the easy way out and kept him back instead of working with him (which I wouldn't have done) he would have been 18 as a senior and I was afraid I wouldn't be able to force him to finish.  I thought ahead on that one even though it was only 3rd grade.  Because I had 5th grade student who was 14!!! I was in high school at 14, lol.  She kept saying how she was quitting when she turned 16, which meant 7th grade.  Yikes!  I am glad I had the foresight.
Yes, that is the entire senior class. LOL.  Yeah, a Math class with 328 kids would be more like one of those big lecture classes at Harvard or Yale University.  LOL.  BUT....But, he had the highest grade-in math (calculus- ugggh) of 328 kids.  Most likely of 400 since the other 72 didn't graduate at all.  LOL.  My graduating class was 289, but we only had 2 high schools in our town.  So you figure, he has/had about 1600 kids in his school and there are 7 high schools in our city!!!

Awww, that's ok my sista, you can "like me" tomorrow since you don't like me today. ba-hahaha (yeah, that was a sinker, LOL).  Anyway, thanks for the congrats.  I am very proud.  He received an engraved medal for his award and I brought it to work and showed it off to everyone.  They all know my son, so they know I am a proud mama.

Hey everyone, my youngest son graduated Tuesday June 6th!! He received a math excellence award for the highest math GPA in his class of 328 students.  (that's how many graduated, there were actually about 400 in his class).  Before you say how small that class is, we have seven high schools!  He was in the electrical program at our wonderful vocational tech school, and is now starting his apprenticeship.  I am sad that it over.  But it is a "good" over.  LOL

I couldn't even do my dailies as well. So dang busy *wahhhhh!* I have to WORK MY BUNS OFF to get a higher level than last year. There goes my weekend

I just saw this on Ebay and went through a slew of conflict!

See my IMMEDIATE reaction was major eye-rolling. This seeming to be a new fad in Japan, and you know, neurotic spoiled purse dogs and all that...
Then I thought, "wait a minute, I don't like getting wet when it's raining, so why am I being a hag towards dogs that don't either?"
Then I figured this was a idea that sprang from someone's brolly blowing inside-out one day and they had a light bulb moment. With the mechanism working upside-down and with the chain on the end to attach to the dog's collar, it's actually a pretty clever concept.
 
So from first seeing this my opinion's done a total 180 flip, lol. But if I had a dog that hated the rain would I actually use one of these?...not so sure about that...my Britishness might make me too self-conscious, plus I think having to hold your arm out to accommodate the span of the brolly would get uncomfortable real quick. The water on it would likely end up all down your leg too, I think!

It's so true though that some people just have no concept of personal space, and some people have no manners, and sometimes those two things show up in the same person which makes them a total joy to be in the vicinity of! Standing in a queue (which we Brits are famed for doing!) is something I avoid as much as I possibly can these days. Because of my MS my balance is shot, and standing still without any support is hard for me, I sway like a tree and have to fight to stay upright, so if some asshat behind me pushed against me to get me to move forward they'd probably knock me over.
I think standing sideways in a queue might give you a smidge more space, and maybe putting your bag down on the floor next to you (as long as you could keep hold of the strap), a physical barrier between you and the feet of the person behind you. I should do that, and make sure I have my walking stick out to use for support, and as a clear indicator to the people around me that they need to give me some space, and not push me!...I always have my stick folded up in my bag in case I need it, but I rarely do use it, but in cases like that it would be a good preventative measure.

There are other things you could do...
Have a pretend phone conversation with someone, and tell them loudly about the contagious infection the doctor suspects you have, then sneeze repeatedly...that should gain you some elbow room.

WHAT? They aren't letting us Rank Up on Jelly Day? NOOOOoooo! I, too, wait for this Day to have the ability to not send high scores, end these annoying games faster, and be able to play them quicker, and now they take that all away???!!!!!

You may not be flagged. Today is a "practice" day. Although, in the past, practice days days would let you rank up, it seems, THT/JS has change that, this year. I've seen and read a few posts on the "Games" and "Help" Neoboards of others with the same issue, and replies stating it is happening because it is a "practice" day, as no one is able to rank up, today. So, I guess it is take a break day?
