Bloo Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 I just got word that Terry Pratchett, best known as the author of the Discworld series, has passed away. He was just 66. Pratchett has always been one of my favourite authors, hands down. I've been reading his books for years. I knew he had been battling with Alzheimer's for a long time -- but I didn't expect we'd lose him quite so soon... The world has definitely lost something today that it will never get back. I feel a little like crying right now. Quote
tk421beth Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 I'm so sorry to hear this. Alzheimer's is a horrible disease. He's at peace now. My his memory be a blessing <3 Quote
Hert123 Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 I'm sorry to hear this. Although I have never read his books, I was always planning to.. Keep him alive in your memory <3 Quote
nousha Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 I'm so sad. His Alzheimer's was progressing at a fast pace. It's not fair. He was unique and will be missed by many. May his soul be blessed, whereve he is right now. I believe he's in the Discworld. Bloo 1 Quote
brynchilla Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 I was introduced to him through 'Good Omens'. He is an amazing writer, and will be missed :( Quote
jellysundae Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 I saw his last Twitter posts online, those made me tear up a bit. I'm gonna assume he told people what to put when he was gone, it was a great move whoever was behind it. I love the Discworld stories, he'll live on through those and enrich the lives of many more people yet. But he's been taken from us way too soon :sad02: nousha and Bloo 2 Quote

WhiteWolf Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 I never read any of his books, but I've seen his name often on the bestseller list. Quote
triadinfinity Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 "No one is finally dead until the ripples they cause in the world die away ... The span of someone's life, they say, is only the core of their actual existance." - Reaper Man, Sir Terry Pratchett. Goodbye Sir Pratchett. You'll live on in your books and in our memories.
