minniemeggie
Do you follow someone? Lefty, Hugo or do you come up with your own bets. I have been following Hugo for ages and am considering following someone a bit more risky. I made a pretty penny following hugo and I am looking for a bit more risk and excitement now. I'm curious how other people play and if you come up with your own bets what system, if any, do you use?
Steve
I followed Hugo when I first started out and then, like you, wanted to start risking more for potentially better returns. For a while I was following a Reddit users' bets until he took a break, and now I switch between garet_jaxx and another Reddit user depending on the days odds. I don't think I'll ever make my own bets, because it's just easier and more convenient for me to follow someone who knows the system. Were you thinking of switching to someone else or were you going to try on your own and see how that goes?
minniemeggie
I don't think I have the patience or the time to make my own bets, so I was hoping to find someone else's bets I liked. What users on reddit do you follow?
Steve
nstarz until he took a break, and theonlygurl when I feel like going crazy and doing high risk bets. I don't really know theonlygurl's system (if there even is one lol), but I tend to stick with garet (listed as Garet on Hugo's page) because it's similar to Hugo's but will more often than not take a bigger risk. I'm like you though, I don't really have the patience to learn the system and I'm still looking at others to see if there's one that I like, but for now I stick with garet for the most part. minniemeggie
minniemeggie
Thanks for the tip! I will be sure to check out Garet's bets! I'm at my like quota but I definitely owe you some rep! I'll getcha tomorrow ;)
maypls
Since the last week of the month always has huge upsets I like to use higher-risk bets during that week since I'll probably not make my NP back anyway haha. I've been using Lefty (~innocent) and having some success. I'll be sure to check out the other bets listed here too.
AJ11
I have only been trying food club for a week and am following hugo..not the best time to choose to start as he has had a tricky patch just now but Im told this is normal and I probably wont go broke lol I would like to try more risky bets but not yet :sad01_anim: its all a bit too new atm I see the poster above me said that the last week of the month is often less predictable .can anyone tell me why please? Rune Valentine
I normally make my own bets. I look through the odds and see if they're not too horrible to bet and go from there. I tend to bet on the safer side because it at least guarantees me some profit every day as opposed to winning big two or three times a month, which makes me feel like I'm losing money. Over all at 5 years of doing FCB I have made a profit of ~25mil with about a 60% win percentage, which isn't too shabby considering I do lose sometimes but I bet pretty safely. (and by safe bets I mean I normally spread my bets around to cover the likely winners, including factoring in their food adjustments, instead of trying to guess the best multiplier pirate like Hugo does) I trust old betters like http://www.neopets.com/petlookup.phtml?pet=drusillax but she doesn't update daily anymore and usually she just goes for very safe days to bet. Not sure who the new bet posters are since I've done my own for so long now. And as I've mentioned on another thread, the last week of the month is the worst time to bet because the odds are either ridiculously bad or there are a lot of upsets when the odds are good. Which is very cruel to people who are going for the Trophy Run (i.e. trying to get the Food Club trophy)... I wonder if TNT does it on purpose :shiftyeyes_anim:
fullonparanoid
I've only just started to participate in Food Club (literally, JUST...as in, last night I put in my 2nd round of bets). Both Hugo and Garet have been recommended to me. I will probably tinker with both. Good luck to all! :P
blackberrypatch
Technically I follow Hugo or Lefty's bets, but 50% of the time neither of them have new bets up when I check so I just do my own bets. :P

I wonder if TNT does it on purpose :shiftyeyes_anim: I am fairly certain that they do! Trophies need to be a challenge, after all :P Some betters just go for super-safe bets when the odds are bad during the end of the month, just to have enough points for the trophy. leverhelven
