Saxen
Thank you :* Yeah most of my stuff is definitely not neo appropriate xD My prize was a petpet worth 1 mil though so it's definitely worth going for!

Shelley
YAAYY!! *thows confetti* THATS SO GOOD!!...nothing compared to my entries, you have quite a talent ^^ and congratulations on the petpet, how neat! :D I've won twice my first one was about altador..my second one reads as follows... I traveled over land, sea, and mountain In search of a magical fountain I dream of a brand new coat As I’m quite ordinary you’ll note Maybe I’ll be painted faerie Or even Christmas, how merry! There’s silver, striped, and rainbow Starry, spotted, and even snow I always wanted to be painted cloud Oh how my owner would be so proud I once had a friend who was a Chombie A splash in the pool and he turned zombie Hopefully I won’t turn out grey But if I do, it will be okay So many possibilities await Just step into the waters and meet your fate ...it's so short and cheesy XD also on a side note :offtopic: It would be nice if a "search" option was added to some of the databases, like if someone say your lovely trophy and was wondering what you wrote they could search for it ;) Saxen
Novelista
I wrote one about Shenkuu River Rush and was rejected. Couldn't believe it, actually, as people really like my poetry and I've won awards for it. (If it was that bad, I wouldn't be waiting to hear how I did in an Irish poetry competition! E1k {approximately $1,375.72 USD, at the moment} to the winner. Plus publication and an invitation to speak at their book launch!) Since we all seem to be using this opportunity to celebrate Saxen's win with Neopian poems of our own, I present "The River Rushes". Before I head to the river each day, I stop at the temple; bow, bend my knee and pray. The villagers can yell at me all they want, but there is no place in Shenkuu I’d rather be. I feel a breath of wind in my hair as I grab my board and prepare to launch. I’ve been here so many times before that I can see this course in my dreams. I lean, I spin, I turn; I grab my board and do flips. Tomami tail flare, Quilin eclipse… none of it matters, as long as I’m here. I have yet to meet a man who is my match in the surf and the spray. They may careen off the walls and skim the ramps with practiced ease, but none of them know the river as I do. With each run, I grow more daring, so that I’m incredibly exhausted in the end. It is all I can do to pack my board and head for the healing springs. The lovely Marina waits for me with a hot tub and a towel; a cool drink and a query about the day. With a faerie’s tender care, I could surf forever.

Saxen
Thanks so much everyone! And also for sharing your poems Shelley and Daya they're awesome :D David I'll Skype you some of my non-neo stuff at some point :* I agree about the 'search' feature, that would be really useful - like they have with the NT! Weird they don't have that... Novelista
zohnworl146
Aww yeah :D No blushing, I can't wait to read it =] I'm sure it's great
Novelista
I just re-read what I wrote. "Speak at the anthology launch"? I'm dreaming. It's just an invitation to attend the launch, which I wouldn't be able to, because a mere three days in Ireland would be more than the prize money. Ashbash
That's awesome, congratulations! I clicked the link to go read your poem and couldn't find it though.
Saxen
Aww yeah :D No blushing, I can't wait to read it =] I'm sure it's great Haha it's really not xP I'll send you some of my 'best' stuff now. Can't promise no blushing! I just re-read what I wrote. "Speak at the anthology launch"? I'm dreaming. It's just an invitation to attend the launch, which I wouldn't be able to, because a mere three days in Ireland would be more than the prize money. Oh man I'm sorry you can't go! Ireland would definitely be a bit of a trek D: That's awesome, congratulations! I clicked the link to go read your poem and couldn't find it though. Thank you :* It's been updated today it seems so my poem is no longer on the first page. I'll post it here ^^ Majestically he soars, with open wings into the milky twilight above the clouds. The air is fresh and sharp, whistling past him as he darts to and fro, laughing as he goes. He is free here; the wind speaks secrets of the night as the sun says farewell, revealing twinkling lights and a moon that glows full. He dreams to touch those sparkling diamonds that seem to smile and somehow taunt, as if aware of their splendid beauty that shines out of reach amid the blackness of the sky. "Oh, what joy to fly beneath the stars that burn with such intensity! What utter repose it is to be in a presence such as thee!" A rumbling cumulus falls away, unveiling below the mighty tops of ashen trees, that swoon with every gust of wind making music with their leaves. He spies those windows of cosy abodes with chimneys smoking, the thought of warmth envelops him and, as the cold bites down, he resolves to go back home. "Until tomorrow stars that blaze!" he cries into the evening sky. "When deplete do the sun's rays until tomorrow, I say goodbye!" Novelista
I've gone to Ireland before...I just hate that (at least from America), there doesn't seem to be any way to get there than a red-eye. :sick02:
Bright ^_^
I really loved your poem Saxen! It makes me want to try to enter the poetry contest even though I haven't written any poetry since high school. Novelista, your poem is great, but I think it was rejected for the word "pray." Anything religious is not allowed on Neopets.
