I had an account that I was working on and got one of those give me your account and password and I will make you rich scams. I sent the information and immediately knew what I did but unfortunately I wasn't fast enough to change it before I was locked out... Probably because I'm cheap anyhow and I normally quadruple check stuff before purchasing/trading (which actually makes me miss out on most deals because while I'm doing the whole investigative thing it gets sold to someone else who is quicker or fearless). I think I've told the story here but I did make the bumbling mistake when I first started Neo thinking some Tyrannian food was a petpet (seriously though it was a pet of some kind but apparently it was only for eating whole....... and not a petpet) and when I put it in the trading post and advertised it as a petpet my account got frozen within like half an hour. No one neomailed me saying, "hey that's not a petpet, are you trying to scam me?" Also someone was selling their Golden Peophin Harp *one of my most favorite items on Neopets* for 2.5 Mil ... I wanted to buy it for 2 Mil because I was being cheap and "shop smart" .. they said they'll accept 2.3 Mil and I still insisted on lower .. they sold it to someone else and now it's going for at least 6-7 Mil ... if you can find it !! AJ11 Posted March 20, 2014 Share Posted March 20, 2014 more than once over the years I have put things like codestones into my shop and mised off a 9 at the end so sold them for crazy low prices. worse thing I ever did was not fighting to get my first account back when I was frozen, I was so upset at the time because I knew I had done nothing wrong I was so confused and upset that I just stopped playing and left for a year or something - wish now I had put in a ticket and fought to get it back, it was an account I started when the site was only just begun and it meant a lot to me. I traded it for 100k and a glowing lupe morphing potion. In my defense, I was a kid at the time and that seemed like a reasonable deal! But I regret to this day not checking how much it was worth. Who knows how much NP I missed out on, haha. Another mistake was when I accidentally discarded an item that was worth over 100k because it had been in the TP for over two weeks and I didn't notice it wasn't in a trade anymore. Oh well. patricebee Posted May 8, 2014 Share Posted May 8, 2014 I JUST did it! I had a Secret Lab map piece that was worth 52,000+ and I accidentally forgot a "0" so someone sniped it for 5,200. Doh!! I wanted to write a note to them to congratulate them (not to harass/badger them) but their mailbox is full. Probably just as well - they might take it as harassment.
