Set and Training Related Questions

Recommended Posts

Okay. I'm currently training my pet in the Swashbuckling Academy, as I am not online that often any more and I now have a bit of trouble making nps.

Currently trying out Habitarium to level it up to make neopoints.

First, my set has the following items:

Scroll of Knowledge

Scroll of Knowledge

Scarab Ring

Scarab Ring

Leaf Shield

Blue Draping Cloak

Bronze Scorchstone

Downsize!

My pet is Ygrygor.

Okay. I'm planning to upgrade up to this:

Ylanas blaster

Altador Cup Throwing Star

Rusty Pitchfork

Hanso Charisma Charm

Downsize!

Sophies Magic Hat

Greater Healing Scroll

Randomly Firing Freeze Ray

Then to this:

Skarls Hasty Mace

Kelpbeards Trident/Sword of Reif

Hubrid Nox Memorial Shield

Bag of Healing Dust

Ghostkerbomb

Crisp Blue Tunic

Heavy Blue Tunic

Downsize!

I'm pretty much working on my stats currently and I like to keep goals. Would those be good sets? Any advice on training? Should I get the lab and zap while I train? Should I go for Deadly Dice? Anyone? :D

I was planning to train up until my stats reached around 100 HSD then higher and higher :)

You can switch ACTS for a defensive weapon if you like.

If you're willing to morph your battle pet to a Elephante, you can buy Elephante Unguent. With the morphing potion, it will cost around 650k.

I am not really a fan of Elephantes :/ I rather transform Ygrygor into a Kacheek or a Gelert.

For the ACTS, however, I understand your point. But I'd rather change YBlaster for a Leaf Shield/Blue Draping Cloak/Royal Blue Cape/etc. :)) But I kind of prefer the offense, than the defense XDD

Anyone have any training suggestions or set advice?

Edit: I'm currently using Dubloons for training. I'm receiving codestones from the battledome. Should I sell the codestones so that I could get money for dubloons? XD Or should I keep them?

Keep them. Dubloons are pretty cheap at the moment, and playing just a couple games a day can buy you your dubloons easily. Codestones are rising in price though, and you will be going through millions of them if you plan on training your pet for that long- judging by your various set wishlists, I guess you are.

I agree, save your codestones. We don't know if the codestones will be made more rare when the new BD goes beyond the BETA test, So it's probably best to save up until you're done training at the academy.

Your set ideas seem pretty good. As far as the HT items, depends on your icon preferences and budget. And yeah, you COULD morph if you wanted to save some np on the healing or freezing item(s). But if you like your pet's species, and can afford to go the non-species route, Go for it. And who knows, maybe by the time your pet is strong enough for the higher level healers or freezers, there may be something new in the species equipment for your battle pet. You never know what TNT might come up/out with. :)

Good luck!

Apparently a new BD item was just released today! Great :/ My account is starting up again and I have nothing to buy it with :/ Good thing its in the HT :/

DSPBB does 10 water, 2 dark and 2 fire. Would that be a good constant to replace the others with?

Also, I will be saving my codestones then. Thanks. And I will. I wanted to use Skarls Hasty Mace + Sword of Reif because the weapons use the three hardest to block icons - fire, earth and air :)

If you prefer offense over defense, then I would suggest training with the Lab Ray. The Lab Ray will in general raise your strength, and will really raise your HP because it never lowers it, but it will also in general lower your defense and level. If you don't plan to use a lot of shields, you may as well train with the Lab Ray and increase your HP drastically.

I'd be okay with balanced stats, as I get to count on my pet better XD I'll just get a lab ray and train the other pet, while I zap the other one :) Hopefully, when I get a lab ray, it would be kind to me :D

Yeah, that's totally understandable. I have a lab rat as my battle pet, and her HP is off the charts, but her defense is super low. I wish I had kept training her while I was zapping her to keep her stats more balanced. Now I'm just using neggs and potions to train her.
