livvy
Hallo all! So recently I've been playing around with making little pixel arts, and the more I make, the better I get (I think. I could be wrong, but the practice can't hurt, right?) But I'm pretty bad at having ideas, so if any of you guys have something you'd like me to pixel, let me know and I'll do my best! You're free to use them on your userlookup or blog or... whatever, really. (Although if you'd credit me, that'd be super great.) Or even if you don't want to use them, I'd still love to make them if just for the practice. I've included a few examples of my recent pixels below so you know approximately what you'll be getting. tl;dr: I want to make pixel arts for you pretty please. =3 More examples can be found here, and I swear they're not all cats. EDIT: Just a note - I will gladly attempt to pixel anything you throw at me, but if it's something particularly odd, reference images would be super helpful. Half my pixeling time is spent staring at pictures of the thing and being like "Wait, what shape is that?" ~Xandria, Spritzie, vyvren and 3 others
karmacow
I really like the tea and murder piece :D The other stuff too, that one in particular. I'm not personally looking for anything, but if I think of something, I'll throw it at you.
livvy
Thank you and thank you! That was my first attempt with the lined style, and I've found that it leaves me much more free to do what I please with shading - including not shading at all! :O I'm still working out the kinks with that style, but I definitely like it. I'm also enjoying the larger images more, but I'm not brave enough to do large-scale people yet.
karmacow
I'm sure you'll get there (with the large scale) :) You're really very good already.
Emily
LIVVEH! I LIKE SO MUCH *Squishes kitteh* I kind of want one. Though I don't know of what! *flails* Mouseykins
Zephyr
Happy new year! :) Hehe at the chess piece & appreciation fruits (I love the strawberry esp :D) Would you be interested in pixeling some vinatge travelling trunks with travel stickers on them? I'd love to use them on my pet's lookup :'D They can be stacked like this Or like this: Or maybe in a group of two if you prefer: http://www.cntravele...le-suitcase.jpg (the image is kinda large) Or just a single one by itself: http://1.bp.blogspot...icsfairy004.jpg ...this image is even larger ^^; & more travel stickers:
livvy
Yeah sure, I can tackle that! I've got a bit of a waiting list from elsewhere, but I'll get on it the moment I have time. =] EDIT: @Zephyr: Have you got a particular size you want? (Chess rook size or smaller?) ~Xandria
Oh, yes yes yes!!! PLEASE. Your pixels look like they are coming along fantastic! Awesome job. :) You probably have a lot of requests at the moment, so timing is no issue at all. I'd love to request a chokato pixel for my gallery and I'd have no problem crediting you. Zephyr
Whoo great! No problem take your time & artistic freedom :) I'm thinking of a width of ~200 px, something like the box the kitty is sleeping on. If that is too big, feel free to work with a size you prefer c:
Aquamentis12
WOW Livvy! Both are AWESOME pieces! :D I was curious, what programs do you use for the art and for the animation?
vyvren
Will most definitely revisit this thread once I've gotten a good enough idea - wow! You're so talented, Livvy! I love Tea with Moriarity (I'm currently reading Professor Moriarty: The Hound of the D'Urbervilles, and loving it, haha :D )
livvy
@Zephyr: I've finished your travel cases! Is this what you were looking for? If there's anything you want me to fix (too many stickers, not enough, hate green, etc.) just let me know. @Xandria: Sure I can pixel a chokato! What size are you thinking? @Aqua: My main tools are Photoshop Elements (I'm cheap :P) and patience. Pixels can be made in pretty much any art program; you just have to zoom in close and make the brush size tiny. I don't know how other programs like GIMP handle animation, but for PS Elements, it's just different layers saved as a .gif. @Erika: Thank you! =D I think Afternoon Tea with Prof. Moriarty might be my favourite as well (although I'm kinda favouring those travel trunks right now.) It was my first experiment with lined pixels as opposed to shaded, and I'm thrilled with how it turned out. And it's kinda creepy. :D Emily, karmacow and Zephyr
hanalways
That's pretty freaking adorable! :) I admire your skill and patience with pixelart - I'm never good with that sort of thing. I've always been into just quick drawing on my tablet and messing with brushes until I'm satisfied. xD
livvy
Thank you! I've tried other forms of art, but pixel art is the only form I'm good at (especially in the absence of any kind of tablet.) I tend to lose the big picture when I create, which isn't such a problem when your big picture is 150 x 150 px. xD
Zephyr
That's too awesome for words soo *two thumbs up* I find the green nicely balances the dark blue :) I love everything about it from the shadow to the Eiffel Tower sticker :'D I have a tiny request though: Can you possibly add 'Cy' under the flag sticker on the yellow trunk? It's short for Cybrielle, my Lenny. She'll be going on adventures after changing out of her dress c: I'd fully credit your work ^_^
livvy
@Zephyr: There ya go! I'm glad you approve. ^_^ (And I'm glad the Eiffel Tower came through. I was afraid it would just look like an A. The peril of tiny things.) @Xandria: I went ahead and started pixeling your chokato, but something about it is really bothering me. I can't decide if it's the shape or what, but something feels off about it. I think maybe I need to revert to the unlined style for this one... Here. What's your opinion? Can you see anything wrong with it, or am I just going cross-eyed from such tiny work? Zephyr
Zephyr
So perfect /grabby hands Thank you! <3 How would you prefer to be credited? :) Do you want a link back to anything like your Neopets profile? *chuckles* & the peril of working with tiny things. I've followed some online tutorials on pixeling & staring at blown up pixels make my eyes cross. Like hanalways, I admire your patience & skills. livvy
@Zephyr: A link back to my userlookup would be lovely, thanks. Or even just my name. I'm not terribly particular, really; I'm not exactly used to people wanting my pixels. ^_^ As long as my name is in there somewhere!
Zephyr
Roger I'll show you my pet's lookup as soon as I get it completed :)
livvy
@Zephyr: Great! I look forward to seeing it. :D @Xandria: I think maybe the problem is that the leaves are too skinny. I'll try thickening them out a bit and then you can decide if that looks better. =] EDIT: Is that any better?
Haliaetus
Oh, I am totally in love with these! You're super talented, I would never ever be able to do this and actually make them decent looking. I definitely may have a request or two though, if you have the time for them. :)
livvy
@Haliaetus: Sure, throw 'em out there! I should have plenty of time this month, so requests are welcome. :) And if I think it'll take me a while to do them, I'll let you know. (Though I doubt it'll take longer than a few days for anything unless it's SUPER complex.) @Xandria: I think I finally figured out your chokato! It's smaller than I originally intended it to be, but... I'm much happier with this version. BUT, that's not really the point, is it? What do you think of it? I'm sorry... I hope you don't think I was ignoring you. I really wasn't trying too. I should have been following this thread. Is there any possible way you could add 'Crazy about Chokatos' to the bottom of it? Font style doesn't really matter, just whatever you think would look best. If not - I will certainly take it as is. Not a big deal at all. I'm really happy with the outcome... and the travel trunks you made for Zeph look absolutley amazing!

Thank you so much. :) How should I go about crediting you? Do I just leave your neopets username or do you have a button you use?
