karmacow Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 I've always thought it was a myth that some people preferred diet soda over the original. To me, it tastes vile and I can't imagine anyone enjoying it. I guess it's a love it or hate it situation. Quote
Ysera Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 Coke 4eva! But I hate Coke Zero. Tastes nothing like coke. And Sprite over 7UP. Definitely. Quote
The_Warblers Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 They do taste differently. I have Coke most of the time but I do have Pepsi once in a while to entertain myself0 Quote
AngelBones Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 Coke for me :P Pepsi is kinda nice but it's got a strange aftertaste. Dr Pepper is clearly better than both though ;) Amen!! Haha, I'm definitely a Dr. Pepper fan :3. But on the Coca-Cola vs. Pepsi debate; I side with Pepsi. I don't know why but I just prefer the flavour, weirdly enough I find it quite different to Coca-Cola. And growing up in Russia, Pepsi is actually much more popular over there, so to me it's like a little piece of home :3. Oh and I completely agree with anyone who says that Coke Zero tastes nothing like Coke. It's true!! It's literally impossible to make something without all the original ingredients of Coke and say they taste the same. It just doesn't work :P Quote
livvy Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 Coke all the way, man! Down with Pepsi! :P I'm actually not too terribly particular either way, but mum is a die-hard Coke fan, so it's what I was raised with. But I only really like classic coke. Diet Coke and Coke Zero and *ugh* Coke with Splenda are super gross. :sick01: Quote
Doozy Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 I voted for Pepsi, but root beer is my absolute favorite soda. I don't drink much soda, though, since I prefer water. The water here is delicious. :) Quote
swag Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 Coke hands-down. I quit soda like 4 years ago but once in a while I'll have a Coke :D Quote
Mozzy Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 Pepsi Max every time for me. Can't stand how sugary Coke is. Quote
cmannequin Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 Coke. There's definitely a difference between the two. But in all honesty i'd choose dr. pepper over them any day.. Quote
siniri Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 I'm allergic to both (specifically, the caramel coloring in both, other dark sodas, and even some other drinks, sauces, and foods). My high school cross country coach wouldn't let us drink soda, and I lost my taste for it. I'll have it a few times a year, but I prefer milk, water, lemonade, etc. (Except Club Lemon. That stuff is AMAZING. I'm glad they don't sell it here, except occasionally at Irish dance competitions if someone smuggles a case on the plane.) Quote
karmacow Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 I just discovered that there's now an option for neither. Between coke and pepsi, I prefer pepsi. It's less mouth-assaulting. But if I could choose any soft drink, I'd go with root beer or simply just unflavoured (or with lemon) sparkling water. Quote
emkatrine Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 I had to answer both :D For some reason, I am a bit weird about cola ! I prefer Coca Cola from a can - it tastes much better than Coca Cola on bottle! I also prefer drinking it from a glass bottle :sleeping_02: I know, weird ... I absolutely hate Diet Coke - but I loooove Pepsi Max :laughingsmiley: But I really all in all prefer "fruity drinks" such as Fanta, 7UP, Sprite and so on :bike: Quote
nadabrovitchka Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 Honestly I prefer water. That's my favourite drink. I only drink cola 'to clear the pipes' as we say where I live Quote
pheddy Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 Dr. Pepper is my favorite soda of all time. But if I had to pick one over the other, I would pick Coke for taste, even though Pepsi has much better business practices. Quote
zorna Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 I'm not much of a cola, to me they taste the same  Quote
runningbanana Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 II don't drink much soda anymore but I like coke a lot better. However its never a problem if I have to get pepsi instead Quote
010_pipsy_010 Posted February 8, 2014 Posted February 8, 2014 II don't drink much soda anymore but I like coke a lot better. However its never a problem if I have to get pepsi instead same here. I rarely drink fizzy drinks anymore because they're not very good for you, but I prefer Coca Cola over Pepsi. :) Quote
blueberrykiwi141 Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 I do not drink soda or fizzy drinks for that matter... I enjoy water or juice more than anything else. When I did drink soda, either was was fine with me though ... I wasn't picky like I am not LOL Quote
rinoa812 Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 I prefer pepsi over coke but I prefer dr pepper over both =P Quote
tinti Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 I prefer Coke. Some members of my family is addicted to Pepsi Max, so I'm kinda a bit cautious about the black sodas though. Quote
HomuraAkemiTheHero Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 I used tor drink all water but then i started drinking Coke but now i hardly drink it because i quit drinking Coke and drink Dr.Pepper now because it tastes better than Coke although Dr.Pepper was an acquired taste for me though. Quote
gamer_mommaof3 Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 Dr. Pepper has always been my favorite, but I do love a cherry Coke now and then. Quote
juststoppingby Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 I don't drink that much soda anymore either. But I do think that Coke tastes better than Pepsi. Though when speaking about non U.S Coke versions, the one bottled/canned in Algeria tastes weird. I think it was the vegetal extracts vs high fructose corn syrup that made it taste different. Quote
agrinwithoutacat Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 I don't mind Pepsi if it's all a restaurant has, but I definitely prefer Coke. I rarely drink soda anymore (used to drink them every day), but when I do it's almost always a Coke and it's always delicious. Post-Script: I also prefer Mexican Coke over regular, because it has sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup and it tastes better. Whenever I have that option, like at the local taqueria, it's usually what I go for. I hear they're also switching to corn syrup now, though, which makes me sad. Guess I'll have to switch to other brands that use sugar, like Maine Root. Quote
tk421beth Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 Diet Dr. Pepper for me. I won't drink any other soda! Quote
