CAV of Gang Green Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 If there's ever a need for that last parenthesis, I wouldn't say it. XD That is definately true. But I've done it before, nothing happened. I think... Quote
Unstream Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 Haha no it's alright, because it's so true :P At least when it comes to my parent's type of Chinese. (Yes, I've classified those of my race here in America xD). I dunno, the pushiness is good in the sense that it makes you work hard, but it sucks in the sense that it's impossible to meet their standards because they want me to be the best. And I'm not saying just in my school (which I'm not even), but like the best kid they've ever heard of. It just makes it really hard to ever feel successful :( Hi Noog! :D *waves* Quote

I feel your pain. :( Mum does the same thing. She's gotten better about it, but there's still that pressure. *waves too* Quote
Wembly Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 I'm sure you will all get into wonderful schools. And I'm sure your parents will still love and accept you no matter what school you go to. As a side note: I was watching tv with my parents and one of those weight lost adds came on saying "I lost 20 lbs" etc. and my parents responded with "yeah and I found them" whereupon I giggled at the silliness and my dad said "what? well someone had to find them" I was amused and thought I'd share that fun anecdote. Quote
livvy Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 Hahaha. Parents can be so funny sometimes. I think your parents deserve a hug for that, Wembly. :P Quote
Noog Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 *waves* I'm just writing a SUPER EPIC 6+ page story about a boy who shows a ignorant youth how math is important in his everyday world. I didn't just make that up, I'm serious. It actually might be over twelve pages at this rate.... Quote
jumpingbeans Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 I'm thinking of writing a few hundred page book. Of course, that's just what I'm thinking. XD Quote
Athene Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 *waves* I have around £15-20,000 debt from university. It's a lot cheaper here than in the US. Tuition fees are capped at around £3,100 a year and universities can only charge more if the student isn't from the UK. Quote
jumpingbeans Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 I don't know what university I'm going to go to, or if I'll get a scholarship. I hope I will, though. Quote
Athene Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 Plenty of time left to decide right, Jungle? Today I decided to move back near London. I might as well be unemployed in a place I like and have friends, rather than somewhere where I don't know anybody. I want to move to where my temple is, so at least I can go there and see my beautiful cows. Maybe I can get a paid job with the cows which would solve all my problems. My worries aren't over yet, but I feel like a weight has been lifted from my shoulders. Quote
livvy Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 That's great to hear, Athene. =] I wish you well. We do the same kind of thing, charging out of state (or country) students more than in-state students. That's part of why I plan to stay in state. Quote

Quote
Athene Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 I was going to say JB but thought some people don't like it when you shorten their names! JB it is :) I'm more interested in welfare work than farming. We do milk the cows but that isn't their "purpose", we look after them because we love them. They're sacred in my religion so their welfare is always of the highest importance, not the milk we get from them. I have done milking but it isn't my favourite thing... it's pretty hard on the arm muscles and you're liable to get kicked by the moodier girls. I love working with the oxen or nursing the retired old girls. :) Quote
jumpingbeans Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 I was going to say JB but thought some people don't like it when you shorten their names! JB it is :) Yeah. in real life, my name is Victor, and I hate it when I'm called Vic. However, I didn't choose the nickname JB. I used to be JumpingBeans, before I changed to JellyBean, before I changed to Jungle Beast. I specifically kept myself JB because I liked the name. It's just a name that people called me and I liked. Quote
Divya Bean Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 Yay for Athene who is happy again and in a peacefuller state of mind! I hope that you find a job soon. :) Quote
Athene Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 Thanks Divya! JB is a good combo. My real name is Gemma and I hate being called Gem or Gemmie or any other variation. Most people call me The Cow Girl :P So what is everybody else's preferred name? :) Quote

Divya Bean Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 Can I call you Divya Bean too? What about Bean Divya? or Abide Navy, an anagram of your name? Yeah, Divya Bean is fine. :) I bet you just stuck the letters of my name in an anagram finder. ;) Quote
jumpingbeans Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 Maybe.... I also put Jungle Beast in, and I got Tenable Jugs So that means I have holdable containers! Quote

CAV of Gang Green Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 So what is everybody else's preferred name? :) CAV. Just CAV. The second part of my name changes very often, but CAV will stay the same. Quote
